Ripple requires a transaction ID in addition to an address.

Hi, am I right in calculating that an L3+ currently can only earn around $1.50 per day now?

cc4506 · · #89075

Radact, thats pretty much it. When I include the cost of elec I am actually making pennies a day. Time will tell how long we can hold out

radact · · #89076

The bigger issue is new manufacturers that have higher hashrate systems for less power consumption (bigger profits). BITMAIN isn’t the only player. Most of their rigs aren’t profitable in most electrical markets. We need to see an increase in Bitcoin usage and higher/more fees per transaction. This is the crypto winter of 2018.

Everyone’s situation is different...but if the rigs aren’t profitable, who is going to buy it? The goal now is to decide if you mine and HODL your coins, will they be worth more in 1 mth, 6mths or a year from now. If btc or ltc is worth 2x or 5x what it is today the mining has paid off. If you have to pay electrical costs from your mining profits, then you have a problem.

You just have to lie about the profitability, like the guy who sold mine to me did

He told me that he was ’currently’ making ~5USD per day. Turns out that was basing that on super speculative future pricing

CSZiggy · · #89086

when did he say that? on what date? at the time he might have been making 5$

The SHA-256 algo difficulty increases every 14 days. On avergage it’s over 8% every 2 week. One place to see the increases (including past history) is https://btc.com/stats/diff or the difficulty for each coin https://www.coinwarz.com/charts/difficulty-charts. For example, btc difficulty has increased 54% in the last 90 days.

If I wasn’t being clear, I’m using an L3+. Looks like difficulty is down since acquiring the miner. LTC value has also roughly halved though

Tomas_Novak · · #89099

Why do I see my LTC payout? I only have BTC and BTC wallet.

mad4mining · · #89100

Settings was for BTC payout only. Suddenly LTC & BTC this morning. Now looks like only LTC accumulating. Not sure why or what happened. :?

Simon_says · · #89101

Same here, only have BTC address payout and now I am accumulating LTC. Could somebody fix this as it was beforeplease.

mad4mining · · #89102

Looks like my BTC is back accumulating and up to date. I have a few dollars in LTC which isn’t a big deal since I have an address I can use.

I’m hoping it will be sooner than that

on which port do I open algo Lyra?

CSZiggy · · #89119

@exalteddopping posting drug-related posts, viewtopic.php?f=13&p=21862#p21862 , will get your account banned. Just a FYI.

is there any issues or tips for mining with Asic S9 on sha-256?

Steve Sokolowski · · #89122

PolakCrypto wrote: is there any issues or tips for mining with Asic S9 on sha-256?
No need to do anything fancy; just connect to the SHA-256 port without password arguments and you’ll be fine

alim · · #89123

Steve, is the CN algo implementation still around end November? Just checking in...

PolakCrypto · · #89124

@steve can i use n=for my worker on sha256 with a S9 or I cant use ANY password arguments? just asking cause I got a s9 rental and a guy is trying to refuse to let me run on prohashing he says errors...

PolakCrypto · · #89125

I gave him my username, then I gave as written prohashing.com for URL and port 3335 will that work as written or does the URL need something special

PolakCrypto · · #89126

Or he says he had errors, possibly referring as in the past, im not sure if he actually attempted to connect im waiting to hear back

CSZiggy · · #89127

@PolakCrypto :  depends what rental it is. If its nicehash might be OK, if its like miningrigrentals, they only use 1 IP address so once its banned from too many stales for ANY customer, they all lose connection until unbanned, so some rentals wont work on here

PolakCrypto · · #89128

its from a individual direct

PolakCrypto · · #89129

so yeah possibly they are banned idk what I can do then

CSZiggy · · #89130

if they had bad info they would get a 5 min ban I think, then should be able to try again.

CSZiggy · · #89131

are they trying to use asicboost maybe on it? if the machine isn't compatible or uses boost the pool doesnt support, maybe that is making an error?

CSZiggy · · #89132

and using n=miner1 is fine, BUT if the person has 4 machines, then they would need n=miner1, n=miner2, n=miner3, n=miner4 across each machine so they are unique, otherqiese you get a naming error, but the hashrates still count.

PolakCrypto · · #89133

idk what hes doing he said the L3 asic works fine but s9 doesnt, he just said he tried on the s9 for 25 minutes all rejected

PolakCrypto · · #89134

but i didnt see anything connect on my earnings page or even see anything "sha-256" as im currently mining equihash myself

PolakCrypto · · #89135

so ida seen id think if he actually connected

CSZiggy · · #89136

Have him give a test run on the L3 machines using your username

CSZiggy · · #89137

if for 25 mins was all rejected, maybe he doesnt have the correct username typed in

CSZiggy · · #89138

if the L3s connect then it shouldnt be a bann issue or they wouldnt conenct either

PolakCrypto · · #89139

you wouldnt connect if username was wrong no? you wouldnt even hash at all

PolakCrypto · · #89140

itd refuse connection

CSZiggy · · #89141

correct so you would never see it connect to your username

CSZiggy · · #89142

how many miners are on your earnings page?

CSZiggy · · #89143

just 1 miner for quihash or many?

PolakCrypto · · #89144

just only 1, my miner for equihash

CSZiggy · · #89145

ok so wasnt anything like 1 full page and new miner connected on page 2 of miner list. just making sure

CSZiggy · · #89146

is he running most updated bitmain firmware for that machine? Or using a 3rd part firmware?

PolakCrypto · · #89147

i have no idea, i asked him to provide a screen shot with information provided, im not sure never used a bitmain asic if its got weird quirks about how you type stuff in or what

PolakCrypto · · #89148

i know some miners like you just put in bare URL and itll work like "prohashing.com" then others you need the stratum+tcp//prohashing.com:3335 type format all in the same field

CSZiggy · · #89149

CSZiggy · · #89150

on bitmains, you can use stratum or not, if omited it hsould type it in for you. Ive seen Stratum mispelled often enough

CSZiggy · · #89151

people try to use the jason statum connection.

PolakCrypto · · #89152

whats on the advanced page

CSZiggy · · #89153

hashrate / overclock settings and stuff

alim · · #89154

If you have a mix of algo going to the same account, it is safest to specify the algo for all (even scrypt)

PolakCrypto · · #89155

i gave him dedicated port tho...3335

CSZiggy · · #89156

they are tying the port specific ports for sha-256 so shouldnt be needed

alim · · #89157

My L3s were reporting incorrect algo, and not earning about 8 weeks ago

PolakCrypto · · #89158

and im on 3336 for equihash

CSZiggy · · #89159

could always try port 3333 and use password x=sha-256 and see if that works

PolakCrypto · · #89160

if he was in a live chat with me like this we could probably get it working but im in a back and forth text with em, so idk

CSZiggy · · #89161

have him make an account on the forum and join us

PolakCrypto · · #89162

i told him we’ll try a few things and i wanna see a snapshot of the config for the miner, then if not im going to another pool

CSZiggy · · #89163

check the spellings on the config page. Hope you get it sorted. Good Luck!

PolakCrypto · · #89164

yeah im wondering if he mis typed my username cause i sat for like 5-10 mins straight with my earnings page open and i never saw anything else connect other than my equihash miner thats going currently

Steve Sokolowski · · #89165

PolakCrypto wrote: @steve can i use n=for my worker on sha256 with a S9 or I cant use ANY password arguments? just asking cause I got a s9 rental and a guy is trying to refuse to let me run on prohashing he says errors...
You can use n= - what errors is he receiving?

PolakCrypto · · #89166

idk so far hes just saying 100% rejects

PolakCrypto · · #89167

i dont see any rejects on my earnings page tho, its like he never connected/authenticated on my page..

PolakCrypto · · #89168

he did say L3 scrypt works fine but not s9, so idk what the difference is, IP banned on s9’s?
