well, I am mining with a lone D3, it'll take me awhile to make that extra $800, and then they'll jack up the price out of reach again
AppleMiner · Tue Jan 16, 2018 03:35 AM UTC · #77565
got to have money to make it
VicBradley · Tue Jan 16, 2018 03:39 AM UTC · #77567
@AppleMiner : </strong> I like your strategy. But what if your mining pool reports to the IRS?
AppleMiner · Tue Jan 16, 2018 03:39 AM UTC · #77569
they would have to have my info or my 1099 info to send me one.
VicBradley · Tue Jan 16, 2018 03:40 AM UTC · #77571
I'm still looking for alternate pools
AppleMiner · Tue Jan 16, 2018 03:40 AM UTC · #77572
but yeah, rather than losing 40% to income taxes, and capital gains
AppleMiner · Tue Jan 16, 2018 03:41 AM UTC · #77573
wouldnt take much to spend 1000 LTC and buy a crap ton of miners
AppleMiner · Tue Jan 16, 2018 03:41 AM UTC · #77574
and then sell them on ebay and get the funds directly into your paypal
VicBradley · Tue Jan 16, 2018 03:41 AM UTC · #77575
yep. I still have a couple months at Prohashing before I cross that $600 threshold.
AppleMiner · Tue Jan 16, 2018 03:42 AM UTC · #77576
i got warning on day 2 of the new year
AppleMiner · Tue Jan 16, 2018 03:42 AM UTC · #77577
so had to move the miners right then and there and shut off that acocunt
AppleMiner · Tue Jan 16, 2018 03:42 AM UTC · #77578
so now every day I just make a new account
AppleMiner · Tue Jan 16, 2018 03:42 AM UTC · #77579
so technically I never cross that 600$ boundary on any accounts I own
VicBradley · Tue Jan 16, 2018 03:42 AM UTC · #77580
with a different Email address?
AppleMiner · Tue Jan 16, 2018 03:43 AM UTC · #77581
no, not really, their 1099 decision formed me off to another pool.
AppleMiner · Tue Jan 16, 2018 03:43 AM UTC · #77583
you dont need an email address to have an account here
AppleMiner · Tue Jan 16, 2018 03:43 AM UTC · #77586
i actually do have 30 accounts on here
AppleMiner · Tue Jan 16, 2018 03:43 AM UTC · #77587
I made one for each miner whiles back
AppleMiner · Tue Jan 16, 2018 03:44 AM UTC · #77589
so each could be on their own account so I could tweak them seperately
VicBradley · Tue Jan 16, 2018 03:44 AM UTC · #77590
I'd be happy to have ONE L3 and ONE S9, I already have one D3
VicBradley · Tue Jan 16, 2018 03:45 AM UTC · #77591
the electric at my house couldn'
AppleMiner · Tue Jan 16, 2018 03:45 AM UTC · #77592
you'd have to find a pool to run the S9 on
AppleMiner · Tue Jan 16, 2018 03:45 AM UTC · #77595
you have the D3 running on 110 or 220?
AppleMiner · Tue Jan 16, 2018 03:46 AM UTC · #77598
so if you change over the 15 amp line you have the D3 on from 110 to 220
AppleMiner · Tue Jan 16, 2018 03:47 AM UTC · #77599
it would have enough amps to run the S9, the D3 and the L3+
VicBradley · Tue Jan 16, 2018 03:47 AM UTC · #77600
does the Bitmain power supply automatically detect the higher voltage? cuz I couldn't find a 110/220 switch
AppleMiner · Tue Jan 16, 2018 03:47 AM UTC · #77601
it runs on either 220 or 110 depending what you supply it with
AppleMiner · Tue Jan 16, 2018 03:47 AM UTC · #77602
I can set them up and test them at my house on 110
AppleMiner · Tue Jan 16, 2018 03:47 AM UTC · #77603
take them to the shop and plug the 220 cord into the power and wall and then they run 220
AppleMiner · Tue Jan 16, 2018 03:47 AM UTC · #77604
and if you have the bitmain powers, they auto do 220 and 110
AppleMiner · Tue Jan 16, 2018 03:48 AM UTC · #77605
so power might not be an issue for you
AppleMiner · Tue Jan 16, 2018 03:48 AM UTC · #77606
if you have a D3 on 110, at the very least, you could have D3 + 1 other miner on 220
VicBradley · Tue Jan 16, 2018 03:48 AM UTC · #77608
OH. So it auto-detects the higher voltage. Yes, I have a 220 dryer plug that's not being used. but I can't find any adapter that'll work with my power cable.
AppleMiner · Tue Jan 16, 2018 03:49 AM UTC · #77610
you may have to change the receptacle out on the dryer plug
VicBradley · Tue Jan 16, 2018 03:49 AM UTC · #77611
I'll just have to make my own adapter. I have a meter, and know the pinouts
AppleMiner · Tue Jan 16, 2018 03:49 AM UTC · #77612
to a 220 europena plug and find a nema-13 plug that fits that socket receptcle
VicBradley · Tue Jan 16, 2018 03:51 AM UTC · #77613
I with my Kill-A-Watt wattmeter could work on 220 so I could see if the amp draw was less after I do it.
VicBradley · Tue Jan 16, 2018 03:52 AM UTC · #77616
it currently draws 1200 watts
AppleMiner · Tue Jan 16, 2018 03:53 AM UTC · #77617
i went from 800 on the L3+s down to 750 and 730s
VicBradley · Tue Jan 16, 2018 03:53 AM UTC · #77618
I saw a Youtube video to that effect, but my wattmeter only does 110 VAC
AppleMiner · Tue Jan 16, 2018 03:53 AM UTC · #77619
you need a meter with the proings
AppleMiner · Tue Jan 16, 2018 03:53 AM UTC · #77620
go between the wires and reads watts or amps
VicBradley · Tue Jan 16, 2018 03:54 AM UTC · #77621
yes, amps are read in series with the circuit.
VicBradley · Tue Jan 16, 2018 04:02 AM UTC · #77622
Bitmain's main page still shows the old price, but when you get to your shopping cart, it goes up
happycamperfun · Tue Jan 16, 2018 06:25 AM UTC · #77624
Hello, there seems to be a recurring connection problems with Scrypt miners connecting to this site. Is there anything that you can tell me to resolve this issue?
EyePeaSea · Tue Jan 16, 2018 06:30 AM UTC · #77625
@Happycamperfun - I noticed my L3s drop out once a day. But they go to a backup pool and so any short outage with PH isn’t wasted. Just a suggestion. I don’t lose more than about 15 minutes on PH each time.

The ’active workers’ frame on the website isn’t formatting properly (was ok last night). The info is there, but it looks a mess. Have tried different browsers, same result. Anyone else seeing that? Was ok last night.
fallingcurtain · Tue Jan 16, 2018 07:23 AM UTC · #77629

Looks like the pool is broken again. Response to submitted shares is more than 60s right now.
fallingcurtain · Tue Jan 16, 2018 09:49 AM UTC · #77636
It’s going to get worse.more bad news coming. NEO will crash hard

Is there something wrong with log in to Prohashing account or it’s only me?!!
AppleMiner · Tue Jan 16, 2018 09:56 AM UTC · #77640

AppleMiner · Tue Jan 16, 2018 09:57 AM UTC · #77643
did you have 2FA setup on it?
320++ · Tue Jan 16, 2018 09:58 AM UTC · #77644
Ok, I think I need support help then
AppleMiner · Tue Jan 16, 2018 09:58 AM UTC · #77646
then you need to put in the info and the 2FA key to unlock it
AppleMiner · Tue Jan 16, 2018 09:58 AM UTC · #77647
support cant help with unlocking accounts

make a new incognito window with no plugins and try prohashing.com from there
