FastCashMining · · #77258

i have two APW that I should probably get rid of.

spauk · · #77259

appleminer is kind of a dick sometimes.. always trying to shut down the little guys

toxin · · #77260

testing mining dutch for a day now i will stay there :O

toxin · · #77261

bust shhh :D

toxin · · #77262

*but

spauk · · #77263

i think that’s a load of crap he abuses the system and then makes it so people who need a lower difficulty can’t even get in. i definitely recall he was one to abuse the system by setting like 2048 difficulty on his L3+

toxin · · #77264

lol

spauk · · #77265

anyways. it worked great for years when people could set their own static difficulty to what they need

toxin · · #77266

dont know why i should set that diff just makes more stress to the l3

spauk · · #77267

yea it’s probably not good, but he was just trying to make a point that doesn’t make sense

toxin · · #77268

apple dosnt even mine here

spauk · · #77269

yea i heard that. apparently he’s just forum dictator now because he got scared by the tax form or something

toxin · · #77270

yeah hehe

spauk · · #77271

anyways, i’ll crawl back into my hole now

AppleMiner · · #77272

spauk wrote: appleminer is kind of a dick sometimes.. always trying to shut down the little guys
O RLY?

spauk · · #77273

yes. i said it. sorry to be brutally honest

spauk · · #77274

i don’t see an issue with allowing small miners to run at an appropriate difficulty. not everyone is as privileged as you with racks of L3+. it was working great for years

spauk · · #77275

moonlanders are asics too, and there is already something in place to prevent submitting shares too frequently

AppleMiner · · #77276

I am pointing out if you make a low idff port it will get abused

AppleMiner · · #77277

YEP not disagreeing.

AppleMiner · · #77278

but if you allow a port with 2048 difficulty

AppleMiner · · #77279

everY asic user will latch onto it also

AppleMiner · · #77280

the difficulty is in place for a reason. Once the new fibre line goes in, it might be lessened or removed.

AppleMiner · · #77281

so working on a work around for a problem that might not exist in 3 weeks makes no sense

spauk · · #77282

there’s already something in place to stop that abuse is what i’m saying

AppleMiner · · #77283

GPUs are miners too

AppleMiner · · #77284

but you didnt seem to have any issues waving those folks away as this was ASIC only pool, even thggouh they can mine here, just take them hours or a day to see a share show up with the initial difficulty

spauk · · #77285

you can only submit somewhere like 5 to 10 shares per second, which i agree is too fast. but there is a limit there already

spauk · · #77286

it’s up to them what they want to do. or maybe all these noobs are just trolling

AppleMiner · · #77287

spauk wrote: i don’t see an issue with allowing small miners to run at an appropriate difficulty. not everyone is as privileged as you with racks of L3+. it was working great for years
but you do if its a GPU and not an asic?

spauk · · #77288

i don’t really care what it is, there isn’t an issue with it

spauk · · #77289

anyways, i’m ok with the current difficulty situation now. it took me a while to get it working again

AppleMiner · · #77290

if you open the port for low diff asics...all the CPU and GPU miners will use it also

AppleMiner · · #77291

i have no clue if the system could handle another 10K workers

spauk · · #77292

it literally stopped my mining forcing a minimum starting difficulty too high. which turned out to be an issue with the software but i don’t know the full cause. might’ve been a zeus issue

AppleMiner · · #77293

every worker in the country gets the idea..i can setup my laptop to mine while im sleeping at home...

spauk · · #77294

anyways, i’ve been here for years. kinda feels bad when existing customers can’t get proper service

spauk · · #77295

bfgminer 5.4.2 was working pretty good until they forced it to 65536. and i had to switch to bfgminer 4.2.1 just to submit any shares. i guess it took that change to realize that about some of my miners

spauk · · #77296

so, not really their fault but it could’ve been an easy solution to just allow a low enough difficulty like it was

spauk · · #77297

i think 16384 would be decent for lowest static difficulty, dynamic can get that low. so why not?

spauk · · #77298

anyways, sorry about the dick comment. i was wrong and i’m a bit hungover

spauk · · #77299

i like my little miners

spauk · · #77300

don’t ban me bro =)

AppleMiner · · #77301

i dont ban, unless you post shoe ads

AppleMiner · · #77302

or get really roudy with users

AppleMiner · · #77303

and if your drunk im nice i give just 8 hour temp bans for them to sleep it off and feel better in the morning

AppleMiner · · #77304

but the difficulty is a factor I think to ease the bandwidth, or a server, not sure which

AppleMiner · · #77305

if its the bandwidth maybe in another 2-3 weeks that may get dropped down to 16K or lower

AppleMiner · · #77306

if its CPU bound...even the fibre might not change it

spauk · · #77307

yea it’s there to reduce bandwidth issues supposedly. which makes sense kind of. probably more packets, not sure if it’s really that much more data though. seems to me bigger shares would be more data

spauk · · #77308

i’m not an expert at IT or running a stratum server but i learned a bit

spauk · · #77309

i noticed something weird in my miner. well i guess it’s not that weird but i’ve never noticed it before. sometimes when a share gets rejected it just says (the primary coin’s share was) like that in parentheses most of the time in the past i’d see shares rejected it would say both primary and merge mined. it all makes sense to me, just the grammar sounds funny

spauk · · #77310

i guess bfgminer wasn’t meant to look pretty

gestalt · · #77311

@spauk :  Your miner is only showing part of the message. There are now two possible messages when a share is stale. One for if both the primary and merged shares are stale and a different one now if just the primary is stale.

CharloCrypto · · #77314

stratum_recv_line failed

CharloCrypto · · #77315

Hi, I have this message appearing, what should I do? "stratum_recv_line failed" using cpuminer-opt. i7-4650U CPU @ 1.70GHz using Docker. command line: docker run hmage/cpuminer-opt -a sha256d --algo scrypt -o proxy.prohashing.com:443 -u CharloCrypto.1 -p c=EducoinV I want to mine this coin cause I have a pending transaction for 3 days now...

spauk · · #77316

you can’t mine sha256 here yet

spauk · · #77317

and to mine btc with a cpu is a bit silly. what kind of cpu is that, a laptop?

spauk · · #77318

you have -a and also --algo, saying two different things so it gets disconnected when you mine the wrong algorithm

FastCashMining · · #77319

Is burstcoin a passing fad?

spauk · · #77320

i don’t know but hdd are getting huge, i remember the time hard drives were like 40GB, now 10TB. i don’t really follow all the markets too close and haven’t tried burst much

FastCashMining · · #77321

i think im 2 years too late

FastCashMining · · #77322

was gonna try and just get 24 TB in, 6 at 4 tb each, i have the sata space and could be cool. would take 6 month roi though

spauk · · #77323

i read about it and watched a few videos on youtube about it, but never got the disk space or took the time to set it up

FastCashMining · · #77324

it seems like its the laymans crypto

FastCashMining · · #77325

since lots of people are gonna have disk space

FastCashMining · · #77326

and its pretty easy to setup

CharloCrypto · · #77327

@spauk yes a laptop. I don’t want to mine bitcoin but EducoinV because 2 of my transaction for this coin are stuck at 81confirmation because nobody is mining this coin^^

Third day without receiving the XVG payment... WTF?! I’ve tried to ask Steve here several times about this problem, I already sent a ticket... what else can I do? You’re doing exactly like Coinbase... don’t complain about them if you also offer ineffective support :/

Helotours · · #77330

Splinter, I had the same issue with PPC payouts. They will get to your ticket - have no fear!

Forum notification · · #77331

Splinter · · #77332

This is the only reply I got about XVG payment issue via ticket: "We will investigate your issue and get back to you soon!" - Just a copy and paste reply... I didn’t get paid again today for the third day in a row :/

These coin issues are extremely difficult, so we apologize for the delay

Steve Sokolowski · · #77334

it can take hours to determine what the cause of the problem is

Steve Sokolowski · · #77335

as to the support issue, we will be lowering our promised support times for payout issues in some coins so that we don’t overpromise

N00BMiner33 · · #77336

I have had no issues with my Verge (XVG) deposits. I have it setup as 9% of my earnings. I am receiving about 40-50 XVG each day into my Bittrex wallet

Splinter · · #77337

Thanks for reply, Steve!!

AppleMiner · · #77338

How are we able to make higher in the auto pool that what the highest coin is paying?

AppleMiner · · #77339

NewYorkCoin top coin...profibility 4.1 cents. Live scrypt payout listed value....4.3

AppleMiner · · #77340

how can the pool payout more than what the highest coin being mined is worth?

3Moose · · #77341

Who are these escrow agents I keep reading about on the sales posts? I have seen waaaayyyy to many people get screwe by pay pal by scammers so I am not sure why anyone would use paypal.

3Moose · · #77342

pay pal for miners (Amazon too)

3Moose · · #77343

pay pal and amazon basically take the stance that the vendor is alway wrong. So .... its really hard to get your money back one they have your machine.

Steve Sokolowski · · #77344

AppleMiner wrote: How are we able to make higher in the auto pool that what the highest coin is paying?
You’re probably looking at data that’s delayed by a few seconds

Steve Sokolowski · · #77345

the live profitability is as of however many seconds ago that’s being reported on the homepage

AppleMiner · · #77346

ok makes more sensde

wolfy · · #77347

it keeps jumping from 100 GH up to 5 TH and then back
