the MD wants to help but usually just prescribes drugs
AppleMiner · Fri Jan 12, 2018 06:30 PM UTC · #77158
@FastCashMining : can I get the number to your PCP please.
AppleMiner · Fri Jan 12, 2018 06:30 PM UTC · #77159
need me some script doctors.
FastCashMining · Fri Jan 12, 2018 06:30 PM UTC · #77160
Well these days it’s harder than it was
FastCashMining · Fri Jan 12, 2018 06:31 PM UTC · #77162
I wanted xanax for some time to help sleep but they gave ambien
FastCashMining · Fri Jan 12, 2018 06:31 PM UTC · #77164
zoloft doesnt work on my brain chemistry according to a test i had done
spauk · Fri Jan 12, 2018 06:31 PM UTC · #77167
just stay away from the heavy machinery
spauk · Fri Jan 12, 2018 06:33 PM UTC · #77169
i went to a psychologist for some zoloft and he made me cry in his office and sent me away. i had to go to a regular ass doctor across the street to get the presciption. he wasn’t a dick about it
spauk · Fri Jan 12, 2018 06:34 PM UTC · #77170
like literally across the street. true story
spauk · Fri Jan 12, 2018 06:37 PM UTC · #77174
you started that topic but it has some other dude in it. and it doesn’t make sense
AppleMiner · Fri Jan 12, 2018 06:38 PM UTC · #77175
i was splitting off his thread/hijack to its own thread
AppleMiner · Fri Jan 12, 2018 06:38 PM UTC · #77176
he asked a question on another thread instead of making his own
AppleMiner · Fri Jan 12, 2018 06:38 PM UTC · #77177
so I had to make a new thread in the right forum and then split his off and merge it into there
AppleMiner · Fri Jan 12, 2018 06:38 PM UTC · #77179
otherwise it splits off with it a copy of the original title the post was replied to
AppleMiner · Fri Jan 12, 2018 06:39 PM UTC · #77180
and I cant edit post titles
AppleMiner · Fri Jan 12, 2018 06:39 PM UTC · #77182
only delete, move, merge, split
spauk · Fri Jan 12, 2018 06:43 PM UTC · #77183
how did you become a moderator? just volunteered one day and they were like here ya go
AppleMiner · Fri Jan 12, 2018 06:43 PM UTC · #77184
well first there was the background checks
AppleMiner · Fri Jan 12, 2018 06:43 PM UTC · #77185
and the PA-133 forms I had to fill out
AppleMiner · Fri Jan 12, 2018 06:43 PM UTC · #77187
yeah I was just active and they were asking if anyone wanted to and someone put my name in for it since i was on here a lot helping and chatting
AppleMiner · Fri Jan 12, 2018 06:44 PM UTC · #77188
and they asked and I said sure so been doing it since
spauk · Fri Jan 12, 2018 06:44 PM UTC · #77189
PA133 sounds kinda made up
spauk · Fri Jan 12, 2018 06:44 PM UTC · #77191
yea you do pretty good
spauk · Fri Jan 12, 2018 06:45 PM UTC · #77192
the spam makes me angry, i reported a few of them ages ago. not sure if that does anything
spauk · Fri Jan 12, 2018 06:46 PM UTC · #77194
all those shoe advertisements, like wtf guy?
AppleMiner · Fri Jan 12, 2018 06:46 PM UTC · #77195
those i kill off soon as I see them
spauk · Fri Jan 12, 2018 06:46 PM UTC · #77197
no one goes to mining pools to buy shoes
AppleMiner · Fri Jan 12, 2018 06:46 PM UTC · #77199
yeah if its not crypto related its gone
AppleMiner · Fri Jan 12, 2018 06:47 PM UTC · #77200
ok time to go play taxi, brother off to airport for a vacation
AppleMiner · Fri Jan 12, 2018 06:48 PM UTC · #77204
i did teaching in college for some local highschool computer club
AppleMiner · Fri Jan 12, 2018 06:49 PM UTC · #77205
and I had to pass act-21 background exam and I had to get some other approval to be allowed to teach young children
AppleMiner · Fri Jan 12, 2018 06:49 PM UTC · #77206
so for 3-4 years I was a certified high school associate teacher
AppleMiner · Fri Jan 12, 2018 06:49 PM UTC · #77207
couldnt teach on my own only while supervised
spauk · Fri Jan 12, 2018 06:52 PM UTC · #77208
being a teacher sounds kinda nice. i think you can get student loan forgiveness or something. about as good as serving in the military, they also get cheap/free education
AppleMiner · Fri Jan 12, 2018 06:53 PM UTC · #77209
only if you teach for 10 years in inner city or rural
AppleMiner · Fri Jan 12, 2018 06:53 PM UTC · #77210
the forgiveness has some stipulations
spauk · Fri Jan 12, 2018 06:53 PM UTC · #77211
i was kinda jealous of a college friend that served in the air force and got his college ride paid for. i’m still paying off student loan debt
AppleMiner · Fri Jan 12, 2018 06:53 PM UTC · #77212
and you need full certs and a degree, not just associate teacher
AppleMiner · Fri Jan 12, 2018 06:54 PM UTC · #77213
thanks to crypto this year, after 17 years of paying on that damned thing
AppleMiner · Fri Jan 12, 2018 06:54 PM UTC · #77214
I capped off the last 42K I owed on it
AppleMiner · Fri Jan 12, 2018 06:55 PM UTC · #77215
so I now owe taxes on 42K i made to pay them off...but I get 8K back for paying them all off
AppleMiner · Fri Jan 12, 2018 06:55 PM UTC · #77216
sounded like a win win to me
spauk · Fri Jan 12, 2018 06:56 PM UTC · #77217
i don’t think military would accept me. might have to try sometime to see what they say. not sure if they would retroactively pay for old college time. i am stopping payments on my student loan for like a year so they are going to capitalize on the interest big time. i should be paying the interest
spauk · Fri Jan 12, 2018 06:57 PM UTC · #77218
i just don’t care anymore really. no hope of paying it off in any reasonable time, but i got about half of it paid when i had money
spauk · Fri Jan 12, 2018 06:59 PM UTC · #77219
i thought there was some kind of loan forgiveness after 10 years. not sure really, but i think it’s been like 10 years
spauk · Fri Jan 12, 2018 07:00 PM UTC · #77220
10 years of no job from the 2 years i spent in college
spauk · Fri Jan 12, 2018 07:02 PM UTC · #77221
maybe i’m just unemployable
meinerkey · Fri Jan 12, 2018 07:33 PM UTC · #77224
XRP (Ripple) for payout coin please Steve?
FastCashMining · Fri Jan 12, 2018 07:39 PM UTC · #77226
Because they are teaming up with Moneygram?
Steve Sokolowski · Fri Jan 12, 2018 07:42 PM UTC · #77227
meinerkey wrote: XRP (Ripple) for payout coin please Steve? We’re in the process of hiring someone to do that sort of thing
FastCashMining · Fri Jan 12, 2018 07:44 PM UTC · #77228
You two should develop your own miner.
spauk · Fri Jan 12, 2018 07:50 PM UTC · #77229
like miner software? or you mean like a GUI like nicehash or minergate
spauk · Fri Jan 12, 2018 07:52 PM UTC · #77230
it’s a lot of bloat to make miner software that works for everything, most asics need specific software to run it
spauk · Fri Jan 12, 2018 07:53 PM UTC · #77231
which is why nicehash and minergate software is for cpu and gpu and they don’t really give software for asics
spauk · Fri Jan 12, 2018 07:55 PM UTC · #77232
bfgminer works for most of the asics though, it’s pretty good except when it won’t accept any shares at 65536 or higher difficulty
spauk · Fri Jan 12, 2018 07:55 PM UTC · #77233
if i were a programmer i would poke around the code if it’s open source but it was easier for me to just find another version that works
FastCashMining · Fri Jan 12, 2018 07:59 PM UTC · #77234
I got minergate running at home, just got it i like the UI and autoswitcher
spauk · Fri Jan 12, 2018 07:59 PM UTC · #77235
i’ve never actually compiled a miner on my own. which is pretty risky really, always downloading executables for windows
FastCashMining · Fri Jan 12, 2018 07:59 PM UTC · #77236
when my two new machines get in ill really have to sit down and decide what software to use
spauk · Fri Jan 12, 2018 08:01 PM UTC · #77237
usually you can get advice for the software to use from the seller of the asic, for gpu’s it’s pretty simple, ccminer for nvidia and cgminer for amd
spauk · Fri Jan 12, 2018 08:03 PM UTC · #77238
not sure what miner software is under the hood for minergate. i think monero is usually like xmr stak or something
toxin · Fri Jan 12, 2018 08:05 PM UTC · #77239
someone knows if the apw3++ got some kind of a poti to increase the voltage ? got one server psu where i adjusted the voltage to 12.8v witch runs much better with the l3s as the apw3 with only 12.2v which produce more hw errors
spauk · Fri Jan 12, 2018 08:05 PM UTC · #77240
and eth or etc run some sort of daggerhashimoto so you need enough ram for it and it builds the dag
spauk · Fri Jan 12, 2018 08:05 PM UTC · #77241
no clue but it sounds like a bad idea
spauk · Fri Jan 12, 2018 08:07 PM UTC · #77242
you only really need 12 volts, you’ll ruin the warranty if it has any
spauk · Fri Jan 12, 2018 08:07 PM UTC · #77243
i know there is an ebay seller of custom server psu for mining. called amity labs, and they might have an answer
spauk · Fri Jan 12, 2018 08:09 PM UTC · #77246
but he just buys the server psu and adds the pcie plugs and whatever plug you need, not sure if he goes in the psu at all beyond that
toxin · Fri Jan 12, 2018 08:10 PM UTC · #77247
well i build them on my own for my needs server psu is only around 20$
spauk · Fri Jan 12, 2018 08:10 PM UTC · #77248
i think i’ve heard of some psu that allows overvolting but i can’t remember it now
toxin · Fri Jan 12, 2018 08:13 PM UTC · #77249
i just thought they might be better so i bought some with the last batch but no
my around 30$ server psu is doing much better
spauk · Fri Jan 12, 2018 08:14 PM UTC · #77250
as long as it doesn’t catch fire, doing pretty good
spauk · Fri Jan 12, 2018 08:17 PM UTC · #77251
you’d almost need some electronics lab equipment to make any changes to a psu. i’m pretty familiar with the multimeter and oscilloscope, but even i wouldn’t touch it. probably not certified
toxin · Fri Jan 12, 2018 08:17 PM UTC · #77252
i do yeah but i dont wanna open the apw3
toxin · Fri Jan 12, 2018 08:18 PM UTC · #77253
i bet there is some kind of voltage adjustment
toxin · Fri Jan 12, 2018 08:19 PM UTC · #77254
with the hp server psu it was enough to solder an pot on the connections for it so i can adjust it from 11v to 14.5v
spauk · Fri Jan 12, 2018 08:23 PM UTC · #77255
might be some way to boost it externally like that. i might open up an old atx power supply just to fix it, i can’t get in contact with the company for the warranty. shady chinese electronics
spauk · Fri Jan 12, 2018 08:25 PM UTC · #77256
but i guess it’s my fault for buying cheap things
