id be willing to invest with a group, so difficult doing it solo and not a full-time job
spauk · Thu Jan 11, 2018 10:13 PM UTC · #76556
yea that’d be cool. i’d like to buy a small building with electric fence and stuff. seen one nearby not sure what they do there
spauk · Thu Jan 11, 2018 10:14 PM UTC · #76557
wierd little high security building
spauk · Thu Jan 11, 2018 10:15 PM UTC · #76558
but if i ever owned machines worth thousands of dollars i’d want to house them somewhere with some kind of security. my basement and living room are fine for now
Cristian29 · Thu Jan 11, 2018 10:18 PM UTC · #76559
hi. what is the estimated earnings for L3+ on PH?
spauk · Thu Jan 11, 2018 10:19 PM UTC · #76560
use the scrypt cents per megahash, multiply by 520 or whatever it is.. approximately
spauk · Thu Jan 11, 2018 10:20 PM UTC · #76561
so.. just under 20 bucks a day i’m guessing
FastCashMining · Thu Jan 11, 2018 10:21 PM UTC · #76563
but in small fucktown arkansas aint shit happening with the crypto world
FastCashMining · Thu Jan 11, 2018 10:21 PM UTC · #76566
ill head to the house now, should be back in a bit
zimbotjack · Thu Jan 11, 2018 10:22 PM UTC · #76572
Newbie here! what is the most compatible miner with EVGA nvidia 1080Ti’s and Prohashing Pool? Any help appreciated.
spauk · Thu Jan 11, 2018 10:22 PM UTC · #76573
i was referring to a scambaiter called miller, he always says he’s from alabama mississippi
spauk · Thu Jan 11, 2018 10:23 PM UTC · #76574
prohashing is x11 and scrypt, so.. ccminer i guess?
zimbotjack · Thu Jan 11, 2018 10:23 PM UTC · #76577
Any version better than others?
FastCashMining · Thu Jan 11, 2018 10:24 PM UTC · #76579
you cant GPU mine here yet @zimbotjack :
FastCashMining · Thu Jan 11, 2018 10:24 PM UTC · #76580
i think CG will work fine, im about to setup my GpU rig and ill let you know
spauk · Thu Jan 11, 2018 10:25 PM UTC · #76582
yea gpu mining here is not recommended, might find a share eventually
zimbotjack · Thu Jan 11, 2018 10:26 PM UTC · #76583
I’m building a Tri-miner seen on VoskCoin youtube channel. what should I mine here?
spauk · Thu Jan 11, 2018 10:26 PM UTC · #76584
some versions of ccminer are better for x11 like x11gost or alexis. they never were good at scrypt but just regular ccminer 2.2 or whatever should work
spauk · Thu Jan 11, 2018 10:27 PM UTC · #76586
i just use the software from nicehash miner and make my own bat file
spauk · Thu Jan 11, 2018 10:27 PM UTC · #76587
third party miners might steal a percentage of your hashrate in exchange for better hashrate though
zimbotjack · Thu Jan 11, 2018 10:28 PM UTC · #76588
that doesn’t sound promising. no Veyron for me! lol!
spauk · Thu Jan 11, 2018 10:28 PM UTC · #76589
developers make out like bandits
spauk · Thu Jan 11, 2018 10:30 PM UTC · #76590
yea no car for me either
spauk · Thu Jan 11, 2018 10:31 PM UTC · #76591
a tri-miner? what is that
zimbotjack · Thu Jan 11, 2018 10:32 PM UTC · #76592
I’d like to make just $300 per month. The damn cards were a grand each!
zimbotjack · Thu Jan 11, 2018 10:32 PM UTC · #76593
CPU, GPU, and a HDD Miner. cool vid. check it out.
spauk · Thu Jan 11, 2018 10:33 PM UTC · #76594
probably best to use nicehash if you trust them, or minergate
spauk · Thu Jan 11, 2018 10:33 PM UTC · #76595
yea i’m looking at youtube now, he has a cute dog
spauk · Thu Jan 11, 2018 10:34 PM UTC · #76597
they still owe my like 5 mBTC but i am trying to get a payout again. i don’t really trust them but the ease of mining is nice
spauk · Thu Jan 11, 2018 10:35 PM UTC · #76598
what kind of HDD mining? only thing i’ve heard of is burst
zimbotjack · Thu Jan 11, 2018 10:35 PM UTC · #76599
Ease is what I was looking for. plus I have Coinbase
zimbotjack · Thu Jan 11, 2018 10:36 PM UTC · #76600
I’m still working on the GPU mining part. HDD I believe is possible space lease agreement
spauk · Thu Jan 11, 2018 10:37 PM UTC · #76602
or ripple, not sure haven’t done either of those
zimbotjack · Thu Jan 11, 2018 10:38 PM UTC · #76603
His potential numbers looked decent in the vid, so I jumped
spauk · Thu Jan 11, 2018 10:41 PM UTC · #76604
the power supply stuff voskcoin talks about on youtube is pretty accurate.. i mined on only 120v for a while, it wasn’t good. most gpus will be fine but for powerful asics you almost need the 220v or you start losing power supplies or get burned cable connectors
zimbotjack · Thu Jan 11, 2018 10:42 PM UTC · #76605
yes. dont want to burn the house down
spauk · Thu Jan 11, 2018 10:43 PM UTC · #76606
lost one atx power supply, just mysteriously died.. another one got burnt connectors and i shut it off before it caught fire or anything. i ended up getting a modified server psu with like 10 pcie connectors, and plug that into a pdu that has a plug adapter to fit my old dryer outlet
spauk · Thu Jan 11, 2018 10:44 PM UTC · #76607
LEPA 1050watt platinum psu, garbage
zimbotjack · Thu Jan 11, 2018 10:45 PM UTC · #76608
I went corsair 1000 watt 80+ Plat. on the PSW
zimbotjack · Thu Jan 11, 2018 10:47 PM UTC · #76610
my wife wouldnt mind giving up the dryer. She’d kill me.
spauk · Thu Jan 11, 2018 10:47 PM UTC · #76611
i got my current big psu from amity labs, it’s like 2400 watts and i run a couple old scrypt miners with it
spauk · Thu Jan 11, 2018 10:48 PM UTC · #76612
the funny thing is, we don’t even need the dryer with a line to hang the clothes on, we just hang them and they dry from the miners
zimbotjack · Thu Jan 11, 2018 10:48 PM UTC · #76613
If it dont make money It will game well for several years...
zimbotjack · Thu Jan 11, 2018 10:48 PM UTC · #76615
sounds like your setup makes heat.
spauk · Thu Jan 11, 2018 10:49 PM UTC · #76616
only way you won’t make money from modern gpu is if you’re doing it wrong. it seems like a pretty safe investment to me
zimbotjack · Thu Jan 11, 2018 10:49 PM UTC · #76617
Cool! Thanks for all of the insight! Dinnertime for me! Have a great evening!
spauk · Thu Jan 11, 2018 10:50 PM UTC · #76618
yea, 2 thunder x3 28mh/s miners sitting in the basement, like 1000 watts each and they blow like a leaf blower
spauk · Thu Jan 11, 2018 11:03 PM UTC · #76621
purple matress chick is hott
Eyedol-X · Fri Jan 12, 2018 12:50 AM UTC · #76623
Are we waiting for BTG activation because of Meltdown/Spectre?
spauk · Fri Jan 12, 2018 12:54 AM UTC · #76624
wow over 7 cents per megahash
spauk · Fri Jan 12, 2018 12:55 AM UTC · #76625
btg activation? what do you mean?
spauk · Fri Jan 12, 2018 12:56 AM UTC · #76626
not sure if prohashing even deals with bitcoingold
spauk · Fri Jan 12, 2018 01:00 AM UTC · #76628
i’m still trying to figure out what the whole risk is with meltdown/spectre all i have is intel processors but i’m not a big dog in the fight so i don’t know why anyone would target me
spauk · Fri Jan 12, 2018 01:01 AM UTC · #76629
unless it’s just a randomized attack targeting anyone with vulnerable processors/OS
spauk · Fri Jan 12, 2018 01:02 AM UTC · #76630
pretty sure all the OS have updated since then but i don’t know
spauk · Fri Jan 12, 2018 01:02 AM UTC · #76631
apparently it’s kinda like heartbleed and they get information out of the volatile memory. but i’m no expert on it
AppleMiner · Fri Jan 12, 2018 01:03 AM UTC · #76632
Ios up to date is OK, windows 10 up to date is OK
AppleMiner · Fri Jan 12, 2018 01:03 AM UTC · #76633
if you are running 7, they can hack in and read your memory after its been cleared
spauk · Fri Jan 12, 2018 01:04 AM UTC · #76635
i have a few windows 7 and a windows 10
AppleMiner · Fri Jan 12, 2018 01:04 AM UTC · #76636
it was more of an issue for the 'internet of things' devices that dont auto upgrade or do firmware patches....ever
spauk · Fri Jan 12, 2018 01:04 AM UTC · #76637
might need to check if i have auto updates enabled, might’ve turned it off
AppleMiner · Fri Jan 12, 2018 01:05 AM UTC · #76639
you can delay them for 2 months but cant remove them
spauk · Fri Jan 12, 2018 01:05 AM UTC · #76640
yea mostly talkiong about the windows 7 machines
AppleMiner · Fri Jan 12, 2018 01:06 AM UTC · #76641
i dont know theres a patch for 7
AppleMiner · Fri Jan 12, 2018 01:06 AM UTC · #76642
and they arent supporting it anymore so doubt they bother to try and patch it
spauk · Fri Jan 12, 2018 01:07 AM UTC · #76644
how does a company even get by releasing products so vulnerable and it takes like 10 years to see
spauk · Fri Jan 12, 2018 01:08 AM UTC · #76645
pretty sure i heard some guy talking about something like this years ago in a video game, and i was like yea, sure
spauk · Fri Jan 12, 2018 01:09 AM UTC · #76646
they make cpus with vulnerabilities built in
spauk · Fri Jan 12, 2018 01:09 AM UTC · #76647
nsa whoever gets in and does the dirty and no one is he wiser
AppleMiner · Fri Jan 12, 2018 01:09 AM UTC · #76648
apple did that battery patch
AppleMiner · Fri Jan 12, 2018 01:09 AM UTC · #76649
and it nuetered their phones
spauk · Fri Jan 12, 2018 01:10 AM UTC · #76650
lol the exploding battery thing
AppleMiner · Fri Jan 12, 2018 01:10 AM UTC · #76651
this meltdown and the spectre patches I read dropperformance 15%?
spauk · Fri Jan 12, 2018 01:10 AM UTC · #76652
yea that might leave a little mark
AppleMiner · Fri Jan 12, 2018 01:10 AM UTC · #76653
otherwise known as, we had to push out new tech, and it doesnt work quite like we hoped
