still harrasing him with mails

at least if they send you a lemon can get it all back
impi · Sun Nov 26, 2017 09:07 PM UTC · #51394
i was wondering more like , because they are so expensive. is it worth it at all
Basara · Sun Nov 26, 2017 09:17 PM UTC · #51395
@Apple, I wonder how many miners get confused as pot grow houses. As I remember some show they found a grow house as it was the only one with all the snow melted from its roof.
AppleMiner · Sun Nov 26, 2017 09:18 PM UTC · #51397
and the watt meters run constant high loads...just like miners
AppleMiner · Sun Nov 26, 2017 09:18 PM UTC · #51398
i've worked with the police chief in my township before.
AppleMiner · Sun Nov 26, 2017 09:19 PM UTC · #51400
i was head IT for a local company and I used to pull video servailance of outside road when there were traffic accidents for him
AppleMiner · Sun Nov 26, 2017 09:19 PM UTC · #51401
so I showed him the miner rack and said if the DEA ever contacts the township over this....
Basara · Sun Nov 26, 2017 09:19 PM UTC · #51402
Interesting, well at least you have job security.. people always do dumb crap
AppleMiner · Sun Nov 26, 2017 09:20 PM UTC · #51403
its so NOT a grow op, its totally electroci and computer servers.
Basara · Sun Nov 26, 2017 09:20 PM UTC · #51404
Might as well troll and grow orchids with a 600 watt HPS light and have tons of grow nutrients in your trash
AppleMiner · Sun Nov 26, 2017 09:21 PM UTC · #51405
i just told them i was running an offsite bakeup server farm and hosting backups for companys outside their facilities as a precaution.
Basara · Sun Nov 26, 2017 09:24 PM UTC · #51406
If you are planning any GPU mining or personal usage.. EVGA is selling their power supplies MASSIVELY discounted on their website.
https://www.evga.com/BF2017/ AppleMiner · Sun Nov 26, 2017 09:26 PM UTC · #51407
not bad, but i only grab the P series
AppleMiner · Sun Nov 26, 2017 09:26 PM UTC · #51408
the one they had for platinum isnt bad like a third off, for a PC build would be awesome, not so much for a miner.
Basara · Sun Nov 26, 2017 09:29 PM UTC · #51409
I wouldn’t even touch desktop power supplies for asic miners as the price/watt is absurd. I use parallel miners server psu’s the 2400w 220v
AppleMiner · Sun Nov 26, 2017 09:36 PM UTC · #51410
i went with the bitmains apw5s for the D3s and apw3s for the L3+s
AppleMiner · Sun Nov 26, 2017 09:36 PM UTC · #51411
since i wasnt sure if i was going 110 or 220 that gave me the choice to move and test and use with with the same unit
Basara · Sun Nov 26, 2017 09:38 PM UTC · #51412
Well if you baught them direct from bitmain I agree on cost effectiveness.. I chose those to run 2 machines with extra headroom so the PSU fan isn’t going 10K rpm
AppleMiner · Sun Nov 26, 2017 09:39 PM UTC · #51413
i was going to buy the apw5++ that you can run 2 L3+s off of
AppleMiner · Sun Nov 26, 2017 09:39 PM UTC · #51415
but since there was no real cost savings, i decided not to put all the eggs in 1 basket, if I blow 1 power i didnt want to be out 2 miners
Basara · Sun Nov 26, 2017 09:39 PM UTC · #51416
uh, wouldn’t leave much room if you wanted to overclock them
AppleMiner · Sun Nov 26, 2017 09:40 PM UTC · #51418
on 220 they go up to 2400 watts
Basara · Sun Nov 26, 2017 09:40 PM UTC · #51419
You’d be at 90% of apw5++ right?
AppleMiner · Sun Nov 26, 2017 09:40 PM UTC · #51423
but yeah I could run 2 OC on a 220v apw5++ no probls
Basara · Sun Nov 26, 2017 09:41 PM UTC · #51424
Yea, I know.. I thought 1600W but the apw5 is diff model lol
AppleMiner · Sun Nov 26, 2017 09:41 PM UTC · #51425
yeah the apw3 is 1200 on 110 i think so its taxing it on 110 with the OC they ship them with
AppleMiner · Sun Nov 26, 2017 09:41 PM UTC · #51426
and on 220 they can hit 1600 so lots of headroom
Basara · Sun Nov 26, 2017 09:41 PM UTC · #51427
As long as you aren’t at 80+ percent of the capacity and it’s properly cooled should never be an issue blowing a psu
AppleMiner · Sun Nov 26, 2017 09:42 PM UTC · #51428
none of my powers or circuits on my setups are at 80%
AppleMiner · Sun Nov 26, 2017 09:42 PM UTC · #51429
most closer to 70% i can still grow it out another 6-8 machines if i want
AppleMiner · Sun Nov 26, 2017 09:42 PM UTC · #51430
the powers wont ever go over 65-70 the miners are what they are cant add more to the power supplies really
Basara · Sun Nov 26, 2017 09:43 PM UTC · #51431
iirc, 10C increase capacitor temps halfs the lifespan
Basara · Sun Nov 26, 2017 09:44 PM UTC · #51432
For electrolytic capacitors there’s a general convention that for every drop of 10C in temperature, you double the lifetime rating of capacitors. There’s more complex formulas but basically a 8000h@105c electrolytic capacitor will last 16k hours at 95c , 32k hours at 85c and so on.. on motherboards capacitors may reach in some cases up to 60-70C but they don’t get close to 100c
AppleMiner · Sun Nov 26, 2017 09:45 PM UTC · #51433
and thats for the electorltic ones
Basara · Sun Nov 26, 2017 09:46 PM UTC · #51434
I’m sure it’s relatively the same for any capacitor
AppleMiner · Sun Nov 26, 2017 09:47 PM UTC · #51436
Sanyo quotes a 10 times increase in lifetime for a 20degC reduction in operating temperature for their OS-CON polymer capacitors whist a wet electrolytic capacitor in comparison would increase lifetime by 4 times.
AppleMiner · Sun Nov 26, 2017 09:48 PM UTC · #51439
i know they have made a few other carbon poly ones now just cant rmeeber
AppleMiner · Sun Nov 26, 2017 09:48 PM UTC · #51440
the military grade industral tri poly capacitors
AppleMiner · Sun Nov 26, 2017 09:49 PM UTC · #51441
but yes if using the old fluid ones, you basically boil away the magic smoke inside of them
AppleMiner · Sun Nov 26, 2017 09:49 PM UTC · #51442
and once its gone you cant get the magic to work anymore
AppleMiner · Sun Nov 26, 2017 09:49 PM UTC · #51443
some of the new ones dont have a liquid so less likely to boil off the magic smoke that makes them work
Basara · Sun Nov 26, 2017 09:50 PM UTC · #51444
I don’t think they use liquid ones anymore for that exact reason, lol
AppleMiner · Sun Nov 26, 2017 09:50 PM UTC · #51445
not really sure whats used on the boards for apower supply, I tend to not open those
AppleMiner · Sun Nov 26, 2017 09:51 PM UTC · #51446
when they stop working I pitch them, i do know better than attempt to fix a faulty power supply
Basara · Sun Nov 26, 2017 09:51 PM UTC · #51447
What kind of capacitor is sorta irrelavent as it’s at min double - 10 times lol
AppleMiner · Sun Nov 26, 2017 09:51 PM UTC · #51448
even if i thought i could fix it, not reliable, pitch it. i think a solid dependable power supply is really skimped on in most system builds.
AppleMiner · Sun Nov 26, 2017 09:52 PM UTC · #51449
which to me means...the capacity at any temp other than the 80 theminer triggers to shut itself off
AppleMiner · Sun Nov 26, 2017 09:52 PM UTC · #51450
will STILL outlast the longevity of the profitiblity of said miners 8)
Basara · Sun Nov 26, 2017 09:52 PM UTC · #51451
Cap’s, quality of solder job, and filtering are where they skimp
AppleMiner · Sun Nov 26, 2017 09:53 PM UTC · #51452
ok back to video games, enjoy the afternoon, i think some footballs is starting soonish
Basara · Sun Nov 26, 2017 09:54 PM UTC · #51453
1st thing to go on antminer is a stray heatsink falling off and 2nd possibility is the caps overheated
crika1 · Sun Nov 26, 2017 09:56 PM UTC · #51455
hi guys, a quick question about payment, i can see that prohas made the payout in litecoin, but it has not hit my wallet, looks like they made the payment over an hour ago, but has not hit my wallet, anyway of checking that ?
AppleMiner · Sun Nov 26, 2017 09:57 PM UTC · #51456
you are correct it does look like the payments have gone out.
AppleMiner · Sun Nov 26, 2017 09:57 PM UTC · #51457
i wonder if its 12 hours behind....mmmmm pondering....
AppleMiner · Sun Nov 26, 2017 09:59 PM UTC · #51458
i am wondering with the server upgrades and stuff
crika1 · Sun Nov 26, 2017 09:59 PM UTC · #51459
yeah payments have gone out but , it has not come through to my wallet lol
AppleMiner · Sun Nov 26, 2017 10:00 PM UTC · #51460
if somewhere along the line they set something at 1200 becuase it was midnight, itstead of setting midnight at 00:00
AppleMiner · Sun Nov 26, 2017 10:00 PM UTC · #51461
because it feels like the payments were 12 hours off?
AppleMiner · Sun Nov 26, 2017 10:01 PM UTC · #51462
or maybe just with the servers offline yesterdya took a while to catch up and tally before it could pay out, not going to sweat it, betting tomorrow its all sorted fine.
crika1 · Sun Nov 26, 2017 10:03 PM UTC · #51463
one thing that i dont understand when i click on the payout that shows the date 27th nov, i can see the total sent etc etc, which is strange because if its showing its sent then it should have landed onto the wallet, or am i wrong there?
AppleMiner · Sun Nov 26, 2017 10:04 PM UTC · #51464
it very well has landed on the wallet
AppleMiner · Sun Nov 26, 2017 10:04 PM UTC · #51465
but until the wallet typically has 6 verifies
AppleMiner · Sun Nov 26, 2017 10:04 PM UTC · #51466
they typically do not credit your account
crika1 · Sun Nov 26, 2017 10:04 PM UTC · #51467
yeah i know, but if the payment was made an hour ago, it should have had the 6 verifies by now, youd think lol
AppleMiner · Sun Nov 26, 2017 10:04 PM UTC · #51468
so for LTC i can send from 1 wallet to the next in like 5 mins but can then take 30 mins to verify compeltely before the funds are releasable to me
AppleMiner · Sun Nov 26, 2017 10:05 PM UTC · #51469
depends on the network, and the wallet place
AppleMiner · Sun Nov 26, 2017 10:05 PM UTC · #51470
can send 2 coins to 2 wallets at the same time, 1 will liekly get it before the other
AppleMiner · Sun Nov 26, 2017 10:07 PM UTC · #51471
ohh i found a BCC this morning at 5am, for 2500$
crika1 · Sun Nov 26, 2017 10:18 PM UTC · #51473
hehehe yeah, i think i might have to lodge a ticket if it doesnt come through in the next 12 hours , as there is no transaction appearing when i search on the blockchain with the wallet id

probably a stupid question i think i know the answer too but are these upgrades making it easier for us to find blocks? i am up to 18 blocks just for today on one machine.. sexcoin, newyork coin, bridgecoin and annoncoin
