djliss · · #47358

got a big hydroponics fan jobbie comming tonight and some ducting, going to try vent all the room heat out of the window lol

sharpblunt007 · · #47359

Yea, but weirdly enough I got to a point where I OC’d past 600, temps were fine but my rejected shares went up drastically :/ makes no sense right?

AppleMiner · · #47360

how many?

AppleMiner · · #47361

@djliss :  how many you running?

mycide · · #47362

got one board on L3+ that got one die dead on slight oc, that gives me 0.3% 24/h but to get it back the down clocking will return far less then one die dead.. so i kept it oced

AppleMiner · · #47363

have to balance and judge the pros and cons

djliss · · #47364

just the one L3+ 3 x gridseed blades and an equihash rig, all gpus running at 70 degrees lol

djliss · · #47365

so getting very hot in the room

djliss · · #47366

and the window is wide open, its about 10 degrees outside at the mo in the uk

AppleMiner · · #47367

you need to put a box fan in the window blowing outside

AppleMiner · · #47368

you dont need to vent the hot air to the window

AppleMiner · · #47369

you need to pull the air to the window from the window

AppleMiner · · #47370

but every cooling solution is different

djliss · · #47371

was thinking to vent the hot air out the room, close the door to create a negative pressure to pull cooler air from the rest of the house, got something to seal the window around the ducting

sharpblunt007 · · #47372

Yea, I’d recommend attaching some ducting straight over your exhause of your L3 and putting it out the window, that’s what I’ve done and it works perfectly

sharpblunt007 · · #47373

exhaust

AppleMiner · · #47374

if it was just 1 miner he could, not if its a room with 4 rigs in it

AppleMiner · · #47375

D3, S9, L3 pretty ez to vent out to a window...how do you exactly vent 7 video cards on a mobo to a window?

AppleMiner · · #47376

put a card board box over it with a inline fan and some ductwork?

AppleMiner · · #47377

blow everything towards the window and then just put a box fan in the window

AppleMiner · · #47378

see how it does

AppleMiner · · #47379

my first setup i went all crazy 3 fans all over the place pulling from the door, pulling from the window

AppleMiner · · #47380

after 1 month i had it worked out to be all of 1 box fan in the window pointing outside

AppleMiner · · #47381

it blew the hot air out, and that auto pulled cool air in from everywhere else

AppleMiner · · #47382

didnt have to do anything else

AppleMiner · · #47383

ran it that way for 2 years

djliss · · #47384

i’ll have to tinker lol, was thinking of putting it all in the loft but in summer it wont work, gets hot up there without any equipment!

djliss · · #47385

got all my switches and nas units in the loft but they dont create much heat

djliss · · #47386

anyone wanna buy a readynas 2100 or 2

djliss · · #47387

or some cdj’s, or a surface pro 1, will take crypto as payment or paypal lol

CryptoTiger · · #47388

AppleMiner wrote: mine are mostly OCed and I get right around .33 a day
is that per each L3+?

djliss · · #47389

i cant see that being each lol, that would be nice!!!

djliss · · #47390

does it matter what coin you get paid out in i have a mix of ltc and btc

mickeekung · · #47391

DASH diff right now is 40M 3x in 1 month.

AppleMiner · · #47392

yes crypto

AppleMiner · · #47393

.33 each X21 = over 7 coins a day

AppleMiner · · #47394

not quite noon yet, up to 199 for the day

AppleMiner · · #47395

only 3.18 coins so far though

mycide · · #47396

i had to make two air intakes and then i use an inline thermostat controlled 150mm ventilation fan, sucking air from opposite side of ventilation, placing the rigs inbetween facing rig intake to fresh air intake wall.

mycide · · #47397

got 8 rigs in 20 sqm storage beside the garage, keeping it snug at 25 degree celcius, using exhausted heatbehind my air/water heatpump, and another 100mm heat mover fan also thermostat controlled, venting into my growhouse, built on the side of the storage, keeping it around 15-20c

mycide · · #47398

still picking tomatoes and cucumbers in Sweden ^^

mycide · · #47399

wish i had room and capacity for twice or tripple the size farm, but elecitricty fees would start hurting

Kfedorek · · #47400

no compensation for when PH was messed up?

AppleMiner · · #47401

doubtful, compensation usually when things arent recorded correctly and they have profits to pay

AppleMiner · · #47402

but if they are down then they dont have anything to pay, have to have backup polls set for downtimes

AppleMiner · · #47403

or switch if it seems like its a bad day.

mickeekung · · #47406

However, overall for today is better than previous.

djliss · · #47407

back home now where should security tab be?

AppleMiner · · #47408

over one of the screws

AppleMiner · · #47409

on the fan that seel the back cover

AppleMiner · · #47410

the side you plug the powers into

AppleMiner · · #47411

if you remove those 4 screws that back panel comes off and you can slide the hashboards in and out.

AppleMiner · · #47412

to have them serviced, or to swap them with lesser boards, but once opened people dont take returns

djliss · · #47413

yeah no stickers anywhere

AppleMiner · · #47414

if facing the back pannel exhaust side, should be the top left hand one

AppleMiner · · #47415

its a blue tape over the screw and the machine that seals it

AppleMiner · · #47416

the only way to open the case is to break that seal

AppleMiner · · #47417

if its not there they probably had it opened before they shipped it out to you so who knows what all happnened to it

djliss · · #47418

nothing there, i’ll upload some pics

AppleMiner · · #47419

issue with buying used miners later on ebay, if they were still new or just came in great

and those are the pics of the miner, no seal there!!

djliss · · #47429

i take it bitmain wont touch it any ideas how much a hashing board is? if he refunds me enough for 1 that’ll do lol

pavvappav · · #47430

The bitmain warranty is non-transferable -- its tied to the account used to buy the miner. You may be able to ship it to them and pay for repair service, but it would probably be faster to get a new miner and try to sell that one on ebay.

djliss · · #47431

thats where i got it from lol

djliss · · #47432

put in a return request but havn’t heard anything, ebay should refund me with a bit of luck

pavvappav · · #47433

probably, if you used paypal.

djliss · · #47434

paid most by paypal and £700 in btc, so don’t mind paying £700 for it as i won’t get that back

djliss · · #47435

its obviously not as described lol

djliss · · #47436

plus faulty to a fashon, i bet he overclocked the shit outta it

oh well, you live and learn lol

ProHasher1111 · · #47438

mickeekung · · #47439

@ProHasher1111 Your profit may lose to your stale shares.

djliss · · #47440

its dropped to that a couple of times but back up relative quickly, unless it stays there i wouldn’t worry

I found on Amazon you can select 2 years of Square trade at checkout for $42. I never buy warranties but on something like this its a no brainer for $42.

holygoof · · #47442

Hey guys, anybody here know how long a L3 miner lasts? I know each device varies in its parts and ability

sharpblunt007 · · #47443

@holygoof it depends, on whether you OC, what environment you run it in, temp and humidity, and how often you clean and maintain it. I think it could last a couple years with regular cleaning and keeping cool, the fans will go before the chips or boards do, and even then, the other boards should still function, won’t all die at once

sharpblunt007 · · #47444

Use a air duster to clean though so you don’t damage the chips

AppleMiner · · #47445

how long will you be able to run it at a profit...probably less than the life of the machine.

holygoof · · #47446

Thanks Apple :)

djliss · · #47452

fallingcurtain · · #47453

Ill jump on and see what gives

fallingcurtain · · #47454

100% monero

fallingcurtain · · #47455

93% after an hour with 20 stale shares

fallingcurtain · · #47456

Its actually looking good so im sticking around

fallingcurtain · · #47457

Its odd because my miner is reading that its found 933 blocks in the last hour and my othe rminer reads 344
