halan · · #35876

Is not the fucking pool normal?

Alex · · #35877

I read somewhere that the problems yesterday, were caused by someone who has been "botting" ?

Alex · · #35878

I watched the live chart for sometime yesterday and that user found lots of blocks. They are still finding lots today.

sman583 · · #35879

i connected my D3 yesterday evening and made in 3 hours 9$ and today from 00.00 am till now only 8.80$ anybody any idea how this ? or is this on a different time scale

sman583 · · #35880

Alex wrote: I watched the live chart for sometime yesterday and that user found lots of blocks. They are still finding lots today.
seen this too and wondering they do sell hash or are they solo miners ? I found 1 block but no idea if this gives some reward or not

Alex · · #35881

Steve/Chris: Issue with botting user Unread postby GregoryGHarding » Sat Sep 30, 2017 6:03 am hey Steve/Chris, just wondering what your policy is for botting on the pool. you have a user named gestalt whose botting their high hash-rate miners on the top profitability coins, which as you know will bring the pools profitability down, as well as affect solo and static miners income. is there anything you can do to assist in rectifying this issue? I and many other miners put a lot of time and money into mining here, all for it to go to someone whose botting and taking (what would be) our profits from under our feet with little effort..

sman583 · · #35882

he still doing it

Alex · · #35883

they are, but the issue with it may have been resolved as far as the rest of the mining pool is concerned.

sman583 · · #35884

see many the same names there as founders every few seconds

sman583 · · #35885

strange i earned yesterday in about 3 hours more then today in 12 and half hours

Alex · · #35886

Most of them are low difficulty, low reward but probably highly profitable.

tabak6 · · #35887

You still do not understand that the bots are on the apparatus of the brothers?

sman583 · · #35888

tabak6 wrote: You still do not understand that the bots are on the apparatus of the brothers?
indeed dont know what you mean here

Alex · · #35889

So how does it work?

sman583 · · #35890

if i think what you mewan is its better to leave PH and gop back yto NiceHash

Alex · · #35891

sorry i mean how does a person/group take advantage of this pool at the detriment of others?

tabak6 · · #35892

Password settings, which we do not know about, otherwise they would have blocked this name for a long time

tabak6 · · #35893

Bots have appeared since the time when the brothers wrote that the pool suffered losses of 200 thousand dollars. due to an error in the program

Steve Sokolowski · · #35894

I noticed that use, but he isn’t making any money anymore due to the changes that were implemented recently with static coins and difficulties

Steve Sokolowski · · #35895

as to that issue of $249,000, that was a bug that was fixed a while ago, and that simply caused these delays in expansion, not any losses to customers

Alex · · #35896

Thanks Steve

Steve Sokolowski · · #35897

our projections have us losing about $1m/yr to bugs due to lack of manpower in the status quo, so that isn’t unexpected

Steve Sokolowski · · #35898

we think we can keep losses at around $1m/yr due to bugs at three times the revenue with expansion due to being able to fix bugs

Steve Sokolowski · · #35899

there will always be bugs and with large numbers, the bugs will always cause money to be lost

Steve Sokolowski · · #35900

but customers were never affected by any of these issues

Steve Sokolowski · · #35901

and most or all people who were paid the money weren’t aware that they were earning too much

mickeekung · · #35902

Hello. Steve. Thanks for the compensation. I always love you 2 brothers.

Alex · · #35903

Yesterday on the chat centre we were talking about static difficulty settings, someone mention good results with a low difficulty and someone else mentioned that this may have a adverse effect on the network due to the high hashing rate of his miner. Would have a low diff on a L3+ effect the the performance of the pool?

Alex · · #35904

and like that he was gone lol

sman583 · · #35905

wonder how this works it just told me i found a block but do i get actual a reward for this or is it just for the records

Alex · · #35906

that depends if you solo mining or not?

sman583 · · #35907

lol i even dont know that

sman583 · · #35908

just rehgistered and made it work

sman583 · · #35909

actually found 2bl 1 say mature last one say inmature

Alex · · #35910

Ok, you would of have to specified that in your password field, so probably not. So the reward for finding that block is split amongst the pool. So as you say it is for the records.

sman583 · · #35911

i have in my pw a=x11 only that

sman583 · · #35912

Alex you have any idea what the pw has to be for solo mining ?

Alex · · #35913

Your mining is merged with the pool.

sman583 · · #35914

i can search for iyt but maybe you know it saves a lot reading

Alex · · #35915

c=(name of coin you want to mine) m=solo

Alex · · #35916

You will only recieve payouts in the coin you solo mine so you will need the appropriate wallet

Alex · · #35917

you need to put a=x11 first I believe

sman583 · · #35918

ok that i already have and then space > m=solo

sman583 · · #35919

gonna try that will see auto if it works or not

sman583 · · #35920

thx

Alex · · #35921

c=the name of coin, i.e Dash then m=solo. If you are mining for profitability I wouldn’t recommend it.
