I have my own space at Colohub. Its 2 miles from my house.
dog1965 · Fri Sep 29, 2017 09:59 PM UTC · #35624
I am a retired hardware/software engineer got badly hurt on the job.
gemohler · Fri Sep 29, 2017 10:00 PM UTC · #35625
ya, im sr architech for data storage ’for a very big email provider’ in sunnyvale, and just had a stroke...time for a better plan..
dog1965 · Fri Sep 29, 2017 10:00 PM UTC · #35626
@Maxumark : they charge alot ????
Maxumark · Fri Sep 29, 2017 10:00 PM UTC · #35627
@dog1965 : I believe we are the same age.
dog1965 · Fri Sep 29, 2017 10:01 PM UTC · #35629
I was one of the engineered that set up goole back in the 80’s
gemohler · Fri Sep 29, 2017 10:03 PM UTC · #35632
google..sergey was like, 15 in 1990 or so
Maxumark · Fri Sep 29, 2017 10:03 PM UTC · #35633
The wife wants to get dinner and a beer outside somewhere, so gtg. good talking to you
dog1965 · Fri Sep 29, 2017 10:04 PM UTC · #35634
opps sorry suffer from dementia.
dog1965 · Fri Sep 29, 2017 10:05 PM UTC · #35635
i MEANT TO SAY WHEN GOOGLE STARTED OUT SORRY.
dog1965 · Fri Sep 29, 2017 10:07 PM UTC · #35637
I bet if PH buts more servers online there issues would be solved.
Maxumark · Fri Sep 29, 2017 10:07 PM UTC · #35638
Hey, Just saw I staked .211 Bitconnect in my wallet today!
gemohler · Fri Sep 29, 2017 10:07 PM UTC · #35639
perhaps _their_ issues would.
Maxumark · Fri Sep 29, 2017 10:08 PM UTC · #35640
Thats better than 3 L3+ today
dog1965 · Fri Sep 29, 2017 10:08 PM UTC · #35641
remember there ISP connection can only handle so many miners they need multiple connections.
gemohler · Fri Sep 29, 2017 10:08 PM UTC · #35642
perhaps _their_ ISP has that issue
dog1965 · Fri Sep 29, 2017 10:10 PM UTC · #35643
@gemohler : you have to think 500000000 miners what bandwith is required and how many lines are needed to fill it.
dog1965 · Fri Sep 29, 2017 10:10 PM UTC · #35644
then theres server speed issue which they can use multiple servers no problem
dog1965 · Fri Sep 29, 2017 10:11 PM UTC · #35645
its all of how much they have to spend on the pool!!!!
dog1965 · Fri Sep 29, 2017 10:11 PM UTC · #35646
look at googles bandwith.
gemohler · Fri Sep 29, 2017 10:11 PM UTC · #35647
Just pointing out their/theyre/there...
dog1965 · Fri Sep 29, 2017 10:12 PM UTC · #35648
how many lines there running as one virtual line.
gemohler · Fri Sep 29, 2017 10:12 PM UTC · #35649
Ya, i work at webscle stuff, im aware. if the miners are configured right, its not as bad as ya think. but people abuse difficulty flag thinking it pays more to do more
gemohler · Fri Sep 29, 2017 10:13 PM UTC · #35650
they are like colocated, 10g at least, maybe 40g to a core
dog1965 · Fri Sep 29, 2017 10:13 PM UTC · #35651
enginners work together we never argue this is this that is that then shit doesn’t ever get done.
gemohler · Fri Sep 29, 2017 10:13 PM UTC · #35652
and multiple 10g too, blah blah blah
gemohler · Fri Sep 29, 2017 10:15 PM UTC · #35653
only 6000 connected workers in the pool
dog1965 · Fri Sep 29, 2017 10:15 PM UTC · #35654
PH is trying to stick 50000000 million pound of shit a second down a half inch sewer pipe!!!
gemohler · Fri Sep 29, 2017 10:15 PM UTC · #35655
configured right, you heat from each maybe 2-5 times an hour..
gemohler · Fri Sep 29, 2017 10:15 PM UTC · #35656
no, not really. heavier load on storage IO capabilities and CPU to keep the hashing/trading accounts steady.
dog1965 · Fri Sep 29, 2017 10:16 PM UTC · #35657
okay 6000 workers take a shit then PH is trying to stick all there shit down a 1/2 in pipe per second!!!
dog1965 · Fri Sep 29, 2017 10:17 PM UTC · #35658
@gemohler : thats why I use low diff.
dog1965 · Fri Sep 29, 2017 10:17 PM UTC · #35659
it gives server heavier load.
dog1965 · Fri Sep 29, 2017 10:18 PM UTC · #35660
dog1965 wrote: okay 6000 workers take a shit then PH is trying to stick all there shit down a 1/2 in pipe per second!!! if you have the bandwith speed from the ISP
gemohler · Fri Sep 29, 2017 10:19 PM UTC · #35663
do you understand networking? A packet of work is _nothing_
gemohler · Fri Sep 29, 2017 10:19 PM UTC · #35664
transactions between exchanges is nothong per transaction
dog1965 · Fri Sep 29, 2017 10:20 PM UTC · #35665
@gemohler : ah yes but what about a trillion per second from 6000 miners ?
gemohler · Fri Sep 29, 2017 10:20 PM UTC · #35666
to update your rig with new work is like maybe, a total of 20 packets both ways?
gemohler · Fri Sep 29, 2017 10:21 PM UTC · #35669
a miner configured right might chat up the pool 4 times
dog1965 · Fri Sep 29, 2017 10:21 PM UTC · #35671
figure of speech gotta run be back.
gemohler · Fri Sep 29, 2017 10:22 PM UTC · #35674
can move tens of thousands of packets a second at just 1G speeds..seriously, its not a network problem, is the simplest resource that they have to manage
Steve Sokolowski · Fri Sep 29, 2017 10:36 PM UTC · #35675
dog1965 wrote: @Maxumark : you know the more I think about it its not a software glitch I think they need more servers because there to slow. hi dog, servers won’t solve this problem because it’s parallelism that’s the issue
gemohler · Fri Sep 29, 2017 10:37 PM UTC · #35676
’workload concurrency’ really, same thing..just quantified and measured differently
Steve Sokolowski · Fri Sep 29, 2017 10:39 PM UTC · #35678
the shares issue was resolved and Chris will credit miners
dog1965 · Fri Sep 29, 2017 10:39 PM UTC · #35682
@Steve Sokolowski : explain ????
hashingpro · Fri Sep 29, 2017 10:39 PM UTC · #35683
so using d=2048 is paying more shares than d= nothing or d=131 they are claiming, any proof of that?
hashingpro · Fri Sep 29, 2017 10:41 PM UTC · #35685
if we are down half and get 15%
hashingpro · Fri Sep 29, 2017 10:42 PM UTC · #35686
so from 9 to 11, vs 15 from straight ltc pool mining?
dog1965 · Fri Sep 29, 2017 10:43 PM UTC · #35687
@hashingpro : hhhhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm aaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Steve Sokolowski · Fri Sep 29, 2017 10:43 PM UTC · #35688
as the documentation states, the policy is that if the error is in our favor, you get paid what you are owed plus 15%
Steve Sokolowski · Fri Sep 29, 2017 10:43 PM UTC · #35690
now that the issue has been resolved, Chris will run some queries and will pay customers tomorrow
dog1965 · Fri Sep 29, 2017 10:43 PM UTC · #35691
@Steve Sokolowski : I can live with that ???
hashingpro · Fri Sep 29, 2017 10:43 PM UTC · #35692
so hammer the pool like all the rest for my 4X payout, sure can do
dog1965 · Fri Sep 29, 2017 10:44 PM UTC · #35693
@hashingpro : uh ? how many miners you running ?
dog1965 · Fri Sep 29, 2017 10:45 PM UTC · #35694
@Steve Sokolowski : higher bandwith on isp steve ????
gemohler · Fri Sep 29, 2017 10:46 PM UTC · #35695
yes, for the 50000000 clients. (sarcasm)
Steve Sokolowski · Fri Sep 29, 2017 10:46 PM UTC · #35697
I’m not sure what you’re referring to
DuncanBoaz · Fri Sep 29, 2017 10:47 PM UTC · #35699
@Steve Sokolowski : We will be credited our Total Daily earning * 1.15? I’m just seeking verification on the formula.
dog1965 · Fri Sep 29, 2017 10:47 PM UTC · #35700
@Steve Sokolowski : what are you running ?
gemohler · Fri Sep 29, 2017 10:47 PM UTC · #35701
..as i was explaining, thats likely nowhere near the proble, as you also expounded on
Steve Sokolowski · Fri Sep 29, 2017 10:47 PM UTC · #35702
no, miners who were mining with very high difficulties will be credited the difference caused by the issue times 1.15 for the time mined between midnight and 4:59pm
Steve Sokolowski · Fri Sep 29, 2017 10:48 PM UTC · #35703
miners who mined with lower difficulties or who mined static coins were not affected and therefore have no changes
gemohler · Fri Sep 29, 2017 10:48 PM UTC · #35704
So, theres no set of car keys underneath everyones chair?
DuncanBoaz · Fri Sep 29, 2017 10:48 PM UTC · #35707
Awesome. Thank you for verification on the formula.
hashingpro · Fri Sep 29, 2017 10:49 PM UTC · #35708
1.15 not close to 1.5 or 1.7 or whatever we actually ended up losing for the day over that
DuncanBoaz · Fri Sep 29, 2017 10:50 PM UTC · #35709
@hashingpro : He’s saying they’re going to credit our missing shares + the 15%. Seems fair. What we should have gotten + some bonus.
Steve Sokolowski · Fri Sep 29, 2017 10:50 PM UTC · #35710
if the correction is supposed to be 1.5, then you’ll be awarded 1.5 * 1.15
dog1965 · Fri Sep 29, 2017 10:50 PM UTC · #35711
@Steve Sokolowski : what is your isp banthwith speed sorry ????
hashingpro · Fri Sep 29, 2017 10:50 PM UTC · #35712
so jumping from 9 to 11 bucks, vs 15 for straight LCP mining, yeah....bye.
Steve Sokolowski · Fri Sep 29, 2017 10:51 PM UTC · #35713
the policy is always to provide a 15% bonus when that happens, to discourage miners from leaving during times of trouble
gemohler · Fri Sep 29, 2017 10:51 PM UTC · #35714
Gawd, and some ppl have to get up a work for money.
Steve Sokolowski · Fri Sep 29, 2017 10:51 PM UTC · #35715
again dog, bandwidth isn’t the problem
dog1965 · Fri Sep 29, 2017 10:52 PM UTC · #35717
@Steve Sokolowski : okay then what is ????
Steve Sokolowski · Fri Sep 29, 2017 10:52 PM UTC · #35718
and this issue had nothing to do with resource limits
DuncanBoaz · Fri Sep 29, 2017 10:52 PM UTC · #35719
@gemohler : right? Like we aren’t in the top 1% of our species or something....
hashingpro · Fri Sep 29, 2017 10:52 PM UTC · #35721
steve maybe you dont understand how bad it was? check around the autopool, people are off by 50% today from other places or just stright LCP mining. 15% up isnt going to be enough i dont think to keep people
