@l8nit3 :  there is one rule, not depending on diff, you wil lhave approx the same profit with the same hashrate... but there is rule, not to overload stratum, put higher diff... when you solo mining, put highest diff as you can

dog1965 · · #36023

if it does it will re-asign your miner a higher d value it will over ride you.

l8nit3 · · #36024

interesting to know :) and ya i wouldnt do it simply for the spamming reason.

Bal · · #36025

Is anywhere a read for dummies about that ssh thing and all other stufff dog1965 talking about?

but that dont work in this opools case I dont know why.

dog1965 · · #36027

plus who ever wroter that dont want us to fllood pools lol.

@dog1965 :  smaller share = smaller reward , bigger share = bigger reward... you will find bigger shares more rarely, but for example if you have X11 d=0.25 and you finding share 40 , you will be paid for d-=0.25 instead of d=32 (128 times higher) , so i preferr higher diff

l8nit3 · · #36030

well a flood of low diff shares, from many miners, in essence would DOS the stratum would it not? causing issues for all of us ...not in a large pool with a good server of course, but many of the smaller ones would have issues

I agree other pools yes but not on PH.

tomos81 · · #36032

@dog1965 :  it works for me on PH (usually) too.. why do you think it is not working?

dog1965 · · #36033

other people tried it already and it works for them and me as well.

dog1965 · · #36034

I dont know theres a bug in the routine or it could be the hardware.

l8nit3 · · #36035

hmmm, so in tomos81’s example... a vardiff setup or a single high diff port would be the best option, and in dog165’s example, a low diff port [proportionally chosen to avoid flood] will give better profit on PH

dog1965 · · #36036

it seems like the site is responding to slow to bigger diffs.

nope thats your nick :D

dog1965 · · #36042

@tomos81 :  lol lol oh shit lol lol!!!!

dog1965 · · #36043

just try not to flood it with d=2048

dog1965 · · #36044

if 100 miners do it the pool will crash.

l8nit3 · · #36045

well, thank you both for the convo and info :) Ill be back throughout the day to try and catch an admin :) Would love to get XGTC on the correct chain and alert the community that is available for miniing here :)

Alex · · #36046

@dog1965 I didn’t change the diff yesterday from optimal but per L3+ $20.69 today for 24hrs

3Moose · · #36047

My diif was set to dogs example and I made ::::: You just received 0.48292413 LTC (worth $26.27 USD) from an external Litecoin account. It may take up to 6 network confirmations before your Litecoin is available to trade.

Alex · · #36048

I think LTC value has risen slightly though today

3Moose · · #36049

that’s for 604 mh/s

3Moose · · #36050

could be

3Moose · · #36051

still -- purely from return its 0.48292413 LTC

look what 3moose just sid see.

dog1965 · · #36054

on other pools it dont matter what d= but for some crazy reason on PH it does lower diffs work better.

dog1965 · · #36055

definite wrong code.

Alex · · #36056

@3moose so your miner is running approx 20% faster so it would be $21.89 approx for 504mh/s

3Moose · · #36057

fine, which is in line with dog

3Moose · · #36058

dogs return for his machine

dog1965 · · #36059

You just received 0.07255093 ETH (worth $21.77 USD) from an external Ethereum account. It may take up to 50 network confirmations before your Ethereum is available to trade. thats my profit at 510 GH/s

Alex · · #36060

Will change it tonight though

dog1965 · · #36061

that was yesterdays payout for me,.

dog1965 · · #36062

I only have one l3+ running stock

3Moose · · #36063

with half the day done, my profitablity is estimated at 25.58

mycide · · #36064

10+cents on scypt, that was a while since we saw

I’ll take it!

dog1965 · · #36068

@3Moose :  thanks I love to help out.

dog1965 · · #36069

I hate people that are greedy and dont share info there plenty of coins to go around.

3Moose · · #36070

The only way this works is if we treat it like a communuty.

dog1965 · · #36071

@3Moose :  correct share work together not against. This is not the stock market. evel though it feels like it lol lol.

dog1965 · · #36072

DuncanBoaz · · #36073

Dog was there ever any conclusion on changing the config files? I couldn’t even get in to mine.

dog1965 · · #36074

DuncanBoaz wrote: Dog was there ever any conclusion on changing the config files? I couldn’t even get in to mine.
sorry about that the user setting file

dog1965 · · #36075

@DuncanBoaz :  did you fix the fan issue.

halan · · #36076

@3Moose :  @dog1965 :  thank you.

dog1965 · · #36077

@halan :  no problem.

dog1965 · · #36078

I think when we use d=2048 our hashrate stays more constant

dog1965 · · #36079

look at your hashrate history you will see what I mean.

3Moose · · #36080

dog1965 wrote: I think when we use d=2048 our hashrate stays more constant
it did for me... made it basically flat as a pancake.

dog1965 · · #36081

higher diffs make your hashrate vary more like a roller coaster.

gemohler · · #36082

wow,this sure toom a dive

gemohler · · #36083

took..

3Moose · · #36084

just to play devil’s advocate -- if I made the difficulty the highest possible -- and I only submitted one share a day -- would that not be worth more than 1000 small shares?

Bal · · #36085

@dog1965 :  I lost a bit and I am totally dummy in mining. yet. So all we have to do is put d=2048 in password field?

dog1965 · · #36086

I learned that from this link this guy created cg miner and is dam good. old link but good one https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=274023.0

3Moose · · #36087

and if not... why ever bother with higher diff?

dog1965 · · #36088

you can pm him and ask him questions he is a nice guy.

DuncanBoaz · · #36089

@dog1965 :  Ignoring it is the only solution I have.

dog1965 · · #36090

I have not done it though in two years dont know if he is still around.

it depends of your overall hashrate, i calculated measured experimented 5 days to get some normal results

DuncanBoaz · · #36092

@3Moose :  Yes Moose. Your assumption on difficulty is correct

dog1965 · · #36093

Not with PH though.

tomos81 · · #36094

@dog1965 :  try to solo mine with 10% of overall world hashrate (dash or litecoin) and you will be happy for d=32 (x11) or d=1M (scrypt)

dog1965 · · #36095

@DuncanBoaz :  did you fix fan problem ?

will try it I am game.

tomos81 · · #36097

@dog1965 :  now not worth... too many antminers released last weeks

dog1965 · · #36098

tomos81 wrote: @dog1965 :  try to solo mine with 10% of overall world hashrate (dash or litecoin) and you will be happy for d=32 (x11) or d=1M (scrypt)
you see lower diff works.

tomos81 · · #36099

@dog1965 :  but 2-3 weeks ago i found 26 dash blocks in a singgle day with 1BTC investment.. imagine that

dog1965 · · #36100

tomos81 wrote: @dog1965 :  but 2-3 weeks ago i found 26 dash blocks in a singgle day with 1BTC investment.. imagine that
what on NH

tomos81 · · #36101

@dog1965 :  yes i haven’t miners, just calculating and using NH for renting hashrate

DuncanBoaz · · #36102

@dog1965 :  The only fix is to ignore it

dog1965 · · #36103

DuncanBoaz wrote: @dog1965 :  The only fix is to ignore it
I guess it didnt work could be the internal fan controller is broken thats what I am trying to find out did you switch fans ???

dog1965 · · #36104

can

I only have one l3+

tomos81 · · #36105

@dog1965 :  i guess d=1 (2) is best for 1xD3

dog1965 · · #36106

@tomos81 :  I agree that will work

mycide · · #36107

difficulty 1, really?

dog1965 · · #36108

it would flood the shit out of the server lol

dog1965 · · #36109

but it would work.

mycide · · #36110

servers are having problems enough dont bog them down

DuncanBoaz · · #36111

@dog1965 :  No. I decided to let it be. It’s hashing just fine.

dog1965 · · #36112

@DuncanBoaz :  okay cool.

DuncanBoaz · · #36113

Are share numbers corrected for the d=131k or has it not been patched yet?

dog1965 · · #36114

I meant switch the plugs around not the fans.

dog1965 · · #36115

but cool no problem.

3Moose · · #36116

anyone aware of any solo mining coins that show a great profit that 26 dollar a day on 600 mh/s?

mycide · · #36117

check coinwarz for example
