dc101 wrote: so what about disable new register that you talk about before, does it also effect? thanks
well...it doesn’t make the problem any worse

FRISKIE · · #19231

Jesus mate, its a payout scheme, not a coin switching algo!

S3KshuN8 · · #19232

at the very least, closing new registrations should get rid of the forum spam bots.

megaquake · · #19233

Pplns is about handling shares

Steve Sokolowski · · #19234

for some reason the number of workers goes up a lot with no change in hashrate

Steve Sokolowski · · #19235

that’s odd

S3KshuN8 · · #19236

botnets?

megaquake · · #19237

Cause being diconnects

S3KshuN8 · · #19238

or hundreds of NiceHash workers failing to get shares.

S3KshuN8 · · #19239

if not thousands...

mycide · · #19240

i think PPLNS could be a solution, but im not versed in the backsides.. doesnt work on this pool you say?

FRISKIE · · #19241

Of coursae it will work

Steve Sokolowski · · #19242

there’s definitely something wrong with the networking on this server

Steve Sokolowski · · #19243

it’s not a PPLNS issue

S3KshuN8 · · #19244

OK Steve, we trust you to work it out...

FRISKIE · · #19245

Not yet, no :)

mycide · · #19246

pplns could be a solution

megaquake · · #19247

If you switch to PPLNS what will be the ramp up time i kno whatever you set it will change as the amount of has comes and goes

FRISKIE · · #19248

@mycide - for those who understand how it works this is true and those like @megaquake make comments now which show they need to go do a bit of research

Steve Sokolowski · · #19249

a switch to PPLNS would be an enormous change

Steve Sokolowski · · #19250

it’s really not feasible

Steve Sokolowski · · #19251

the whole system is built to handle PPS

Jalapan · · #19252

nothing changes but those who mine here the whole 24hours of the day will earn more then those who just mine for 1hour when scrypt price is up

Jalapan · · #19253

@Steve then i suggest doing something else to stop nicehash from crashing ur pool

FRISKIE · · #19254

This was the reason we’re interested to propose PPLNS , is it really such an enormous change from the system perspective Steve?

megaquake · · #19255

Good PPLNS is not a good idea for this pool i can assure you

Jalapan · · #19256

i just want to mine here profitable and sametime having you brothers make money and keeping this site up to high standards with high transparency... and if you let other pools take advantage of you thats your problem that affects your loyal customers.

FRISKIE · · #19257

@megaquake - describe to us here precisely how PPLNS works and why and how you can assure us, I am so interested to hear this.

Yapudan · · #19258

i agree the renters are hurting this pool. Those of us who run 24/7 7 days a week with l3 and d3 are going to bring a lot of power here and consistancy.

Jalapan · · #19259

pools like nicehash wich is illiegal aswell

mycide · · #19260

hrm whoa, 82% efficiency, whats up

Jalapan · · #19261

mycide im at 65%

FRISKIE · · #19262

Precisely @Jalapan and @Yapudan - and PPLNS is a payout scheme which should yield about 5% higher profitability over PPS for such loyal miners

Yapudan · · #19263

Also I do not see how proof of stake will ever work. So much easier to manipulate. I appreciate the insight but proof of work is much more verifiable. A group or alliance could manipulate proof if stake, proof of work is encrypted, trasparent in blockchain.

S3KshuN8 · · #19264

Well, I just pulled all my Ants from NH. It’s all I can do to help at the moment...

FRISKIE · · #19265

Nice debate guys, are you members of the slack as well?

megaquake · · #19266

PPLNS favors constant and/or occasional loyal pool members over pool hoppers so coin switching would be the same as hopping

Jalapan · · #19267

i have all mine here aswell but this pool better shape up and fight of the nicehash bots

mycide · · #19268

damn..

mycide · · #19269

yes please get rid of the intruders. hurting ur loyal miners.

S3KshuN8 · · #19270

what about PROP ? I don’t know enough about the backend side of pool setup.

Yapudan · · #19271

Well atleast litecoin is killin it today, makes up for the 800 stale shares I see lol man....

FRISKIE · · #19272

Are you static coin mining LTC?

megaquake · · #19273

On proportional reward system only shares of one round are considered for calculating rewards so it might work but i dought they will change

Yapudan · · #19274

No exactly sure what static coin mining is, just have payout set to LTC mining scrypt

FRISKIE · · #19275

Aha, it’s not solo mining either, its when you decide to set a static coin and not let the algo switch you around for that session

S3KshuN8 · · #19276

sounds like none of the cookie-cutter options are going to work here, time to come up with something new!

mycide · · #19277

so.. the efficiency is being fixed anytime soon you think?

S3KshuN8 · · #19278

PPDS Pay per daily shares...

FRISKIE · · #19279

You just make that up? :D

S3KshuN8 · · #19280

how did you know? :D

Yapudan · · #19281

Makes sense thanks for clarification, Im still using the PH algorithym pretty sure still more profittable than static mining ltc but wow into the 60’s is sweet

FRISKIE · · #19282

Had that "think outside the box" feel to it :)

S3KshuN8 · · #19283

it’s basically the same as PPS, only slower.

halfdime · · #19284

need some advice, i just found this pool and i like it, but im going on holiday tommorow for two weeks and this pools stability for the last few days has been pretty horrible, should i switch to a more stable pool while im gone, i really like PH though

S3KshuN8 · · #19285

pay per share over the course of 24 hours...

FRISKIE · · #19286

I’m warming up to it already! :D

Jalapan · · #19287

65% efficency :( today 1x l3+ only gives 13$ each sofar

S3KshuN8 · · #19288

I’ve been thinking outside of the box for so long, I’ve forgotten where the box is! (If I had a wife, she would agree with me...) ;)

FRISKIE · · #19289

Cant you get a wife on PPS basis too?

FRISKIE · · #19290

Or are those called prostitutes? :)

S3KshuN8 · · #19291

hahahaha

siberianbreaks · · #19292

very very high percent of rejects

Steve Sokolowski · · #19293

found one problem

Steve Sokolowski · · #19294

there were some HTTP clients trying to connect

Steve Sokolowski · · #19295

probably Google crawlers or something

Steve Sokolowski · · #19296

so they are now banned automatically

S3KshuN8 · · #19297

cool

S3KshuN8 · · #19298

tell you what, Steve. You tell me when to bring 1 of my Ants back, and I will.

megaquake · · #19299

You would have to rewrite the whole pool code to change the payout method

S3KshuN8 · · #19300

I thought that the pool code is basically still in development... Are REAL WORLD problems on the pool less important than the code in use?

UPSoft · · #19301

Steve! wile you here, tell me if i go mine bitconnect solo and will set payout in bitconntect 100% will i continue mine if ph stop mining Bcc for some reason (novaexchange down or some other errors with exchange) ?

S3KshuN8 · · #19302

I can answer that. No, you will failover to a backup pool

Steve Sokolowski · · #19303

I’d have to ask Chris about that one

Steve Sokolowski · · #19304

but I think the answer is no

UPSoft · · #19305

:( nooo whyyy... i dont need any exchange ineed pure bcc. why i cant mine it solo(((

Steve Sokolowski · · #19306

it was a long time ago I implemented that and forget

UPSoft · · #19307

so it works? o_o

whitenoise · · #19308

no, just always "No valid shares"

siberianbreaks · · #19309

very high negative delta at nh since last night, can you check it please?

Steve Sokolowski · · #19310

I wonder if there are a lot of idle miners

whitenoise · · #19311

and Both primary and merge mined shares are stale 140

S3KshuN8 · · #19312

fffs It says that right in the HELP page here!

siberianbreaks · · #19313

Delta -15.7909 GH/s (-100.00%)

S3KshuN8 · · #19314

@ siberianbreaks point your NH miner elsewhere please.

Steve Sokolowski · · #19315

this doesn’t have to do with nicehash

Steve Sokolowski · · #19316

I’m wondering if there are idle miners that aren’t submitting shares

S3KshuN8 · · #19317

Yeah, Steve... There are... NICEHASH ZOMBIE MINERS failing to connect

Steve Sokolowski · · #19318

this is frustrating - it’s always one performance issue after another

S3KshuN8 · · #19319

been there, Steve.

Steve Sokolowski · · #19320

and not only that, we fix one and something else tends to happen immediately

S3KshuN8 · · #19321

we’re with you, we just want your tip to be bigger!

Steve Sokolowski · · #19322

ok, let’s try this

ru55ian · · #19323

great... now zpool is down too

megaquake · · #19324

NH will allways have zombie connections

fire3916 · · #19325

Appreciate all the hard work you and Chris are putting in today Steve. Know there could be better thing to do on a Sunday

Steve Sokolowski · · #19326

this is what we do every Sunday

Steve Sokolowski · · #19327

so it’s nothing out of the ordinary

pilottage · · #19328

you are incompetent your server is the shittiest software of the crypto world

S3KshuN8 · · #19329

We know better. :)
