FRISKIE · · #10104

Prague is in the EU mate

Litecreative · · #10105

Lol tbh I didnt know that

FRISKIE · · #10106

Czech Republic is a part of the Schengen Zone

FRISKIE · · #10107

The European zone that does not require border checks between countires, the visa you need is for the whole of the Schengen Zone

FRISKIE · · #10108

So, get that visa, and you can visit most of Europe with it

Litecreative · · #10109

Yes, I understand, well I will be touring Europe some time next year

Litecreative · · #10110

If you ever wonder, South Africa is also not that bad, its not like on your news and quite safe, we do not have lions walking in the street, South Africa is very much different to rest of Africa, and it will be dirt cheap for you

FRISKIE · · #10111

ANd listen to lots of Rodrigues :)

Litecreative · · #10112

lol is he coming here?

FRISKIE · · #10113

Again? No idea, I watched a documentary about him, great stuff, good music too

FRISKIE · · #10114

No one in America has any idea who he is

allinone · · #10115

Steve Sokolowski wrote: those type of attacks, for example, increased the system stability because that particular issue can’t bring it down again
:)

Litecreative · · #10116

I do not know to much about it him, except he is Mr Sugar man

fattygrub · · #10117

i know about him from here in America because of a special show a couple years ago here... it was either PBS or new magazine show... he is an amazing artist for sure

FRISKIE · · #10118

Yeah he is :)

fattygrub · · #10119

@ FRISKIE.. did you get any fixed orders at NH this morning? the best i could get so far is 0.0408 which is just fine if our profitability is like yesterdays

mickeekung · · #10120

@fattygrub I got 0.0408 too. Hooray.

FRISKIE · · #10121

NH?

FRISKIE · · #10122

I could only get a 0.0409 so far, but yeah, it's been a tiny bit profitable, not enough to be worth the trouble though. Hoping for a better rate later

Forum notification · · #10123

has started a new topic: No ETH Payout

zckmnr · · #10124

hello everyone, new to prohashing are there any good password arguments for nicehash(scrypt)? i’ve been looking to forums and found some settings d=8192 g=off h=1000 but on another topic people says it’d be better off using h=1. Any idea?

zckmnr · · #10125

mining at nicehash @ around 1GH btw

zckmnr · · #10126

not mining* renting hashpower.

FRISKIE · · #10127

Use these - d=8192 g=off h=1000

FRISKIE · · #10128

Those are the arguments I use and have figured out after a lot of lost money with settings that didn't work so well :)

FRISKIE · · #10129

The main issue is that NiceHash doesn't like for the coins to switch too fast, and the penalties add up to be more than the benefit you get from the Prohashing algorithm

FRISKIE · · #10130

So the idea of those arguments is to limit the amount of coin switching by raising the difficulty and minimum network difficulty, and the g=off doesn't all it to switch before work on the current coin is finished

FRISKIE · · #10131

"doesn't allow"

zckmnr · · #10132

Thanks i’m gonna give it a shot than, Thanks! i’d be nice to have around -5-6% delta over 24h.

FRISKIE · · #10133

Good luck! . . right now about the best Fixed order you will get is 0.0414

zckmnr · · #10134

I’ve been mining at zpool but last three days was just terrible with DCs and rejects so i thought i give prohashing a shot

zckmnr · · #10135

yeah i’m gonna try at night time, got the .0388 last night but somehow i’m losing money at zpool *sigh*

FRISKIE · · #10136

Good to have you here! One thing, be alert in a few hours, the guys are going to do apply a major release to the mining server later today, and will be at least 1/2 hour of downtime

FRISKIE · · #10137

Yeah, here the coin switching algo boosts the profitability

zckmnr · · #10138

oh thanks for the heads up!

FRISKIE · · #10139

I think they were going to start the upgrade in about 3 hours from now, so keep an eye out :)

fattygrub · · #10140

i agree with FRISKIE re the settings. n=yourworkername d=8192 g=off h=1000 is the way to go. I have tried several times to get the merge mining with "g=on" but it does seem to cause problems at nicehash. If you ever try the X11 here you will need different passwords arguments for nicehash so check back in.

FRISKIE · · #10141

Scrypt seems most profitable to me :)

fattygrub · · #10142

zpool sucks btw. will never go back even in emergency.

FRISKIE · · #10143

:D

zckmnr · · #10144

yeah figured that one out myself.. with pain

AvPro · · #10145

What time is the scheduled ~30min downtime today? Thanks

GregoryGHarding · · #10146

Our slack server, for if issues occur with upgrade today, most of the members gather here: Join my Slack team! https://join.slack.com/prohashing/share ... NDVkMzMyNg

fattygrub · · #10147

steve chatted earlier that they were shooting for around 3:00pm EST but couldn’t be sure yet until chris get in. hopefully they will update us when the time comes.

bbbbbbb · · #10148

Dash, Algorithm errors, Unable to obtain the latest block from the daemon. Pool x11 without Dash - not Pool!

mickeekung · · #10149

X11 lost delta too much on Nicehash too.

fattygrub · · #10150

something is wrong on scrypt side too.. cancelling fixed order...

mickeekung · · #10151

From this side, I don't see anything wrong with scrypt on NH.Just profit drop sometimes. And loss delta just raise a little bit. I'll keep monitoring.

fattygrub · · #10152

we’re overdue for a jump... been hanging around 0.0320 for quite some time now..

Steve Sokolowski · · #10153

Chris says he wants to perform additional testing

Steve Sokolowski · · #10154

so he’s considering doing the release later tonight

mickeekung · · #10155

OK. Thanks for update Steve. Now I don't have to about my orders on NH. I'm going to sleep. 2:06 AM

Steve Sokolowski · · #10156

we’re not sure yet

Steve Sokolowski · · #10157

if you want to be safe, then cancel them - if it looks like Chris can safely release, then he’ll do so

AvPro · · #10158

@mickeekung :  @Steve Sokolowski :  if you have rentals, the upgrade would usually disconnect them I would think. I don’t think you’ll hash blindly into a black hole of rejects for ~30mins ?

Steve Sokolowski · · #10159

yes, they would be disconnected

Steve Sokolowski · · #10160

but Chris isn’t starting right now, so at the very least you have an hour

Konov · · #10161

Steve, don’t you think, then when people renting NH to you, they make up price on NH, making NH more income, and if you will ban NH, pepole on NH will see true difference here and there, this can get more customers to PH.

Konov · · #10162

and besides that, with less hashrate from there, PH will longer stay on a good to income coin, because it will find blocks more slowly

UPSoft · · #10163

I should definitely think about solo minig ^_^ 3xBCC blocks today and now litecoin http://i.imgur.com/GZOT7A5.png

UPSoft · · #10164

2.5k $ >_<

GregoryGHarding · · #10165

What’s your hashrate

AvPro · · #10166

looking forward to the improvements :)

UPSoft · · #10167

5gh

AvPro · · #10168

you have some good luck UPSoft (Y)

Steve Sokolowski · · #10169

Konov wrote: Steve, don’t you think, then when people renting NH to you, they make up price on NH, making NH more income, and if you will ban NH, pepole on NH will see true difference here and there, this can get more customers to PH.
I’m not sure what you mean - the NiceHash mining rigs are losing the money, not our customers, because NiceHash takes fees

Steve Sokolowski · · #10170

so they earn less than a direct connection

Konov · · #10171

if NH got no connection to you, when high prices comes, they got 1/2 of your income. when they got connection to you, they income is 90% of your income

Konov · · #10172

so, for ordinary users, it is better, when there is no nh traffic - high prices last longer (less speed in finding blocks)

Konov · · #10173

and nh users got 1/2 of your income - more likely t come here

Konov · · #10174

I mean real miners, not renters

AvPro · · #10175

PPS...... speed of block finding is not an issue and probably a good thing for you

Konov · · #10176

if block find faster, diff rise, profit - loss

Konov · · #10177

because nh - it is like pool hoper - good income blocks we share with them, making this good time last lesser, while bad blocks we doing ourselfes.

Konov · · #10178

now our speed is ~700 GHs, when price rise, our speed is 1 GHS, WHICH MEANS that our good time for mining is 50% lesser!

Konov · · #10179

i.e. we are giving our money to nh renters - for their income

AvPro · · #10180

@Steve Sokolowski :  I remember Chris said he was going to add 30 (?) new coins. Do you have a list of these, would be good to be able to research in advance. Thanks

Forum notification · · #10181

has started a new topic: Why NiceHash is bad for prohashing.

fattygrub · · #10182

i disagree with @ Konov re nicehash and will post to his new topic. the basics are these: this is a PPS pool, he more hash we get now matter where it cpomes from, the better for us all. It is impossible for NH renters or NH themselves to take any money from Prohashing or its miners. I’ll explain it more in detail later, but you are simply mis-connecting the dots.

FRISKIE · · #10183

Konov is just probing for information, be careful responding to him.

Konov · · #10184

haha. Friskie, fattygrub - are real renters/pool hopers. LOL

GregoryGHarding · · #10185

@Steve Sokolowski :  do we have a definitive maintenance time?

fattygrub · · #10186

konov, your theory doesn’t add up. sorry dude!

Steve Sokolowski · · #10187

GregoryGHarding wrote: @Steve Sokolowski :  do we have a definitive maintenance time?
No. Chris wants to make sure everything works right, so it won’t be for at least five hours.

tmopar · · #10188

UPSoft wrote: I should definitely think about solo minig ^_^ 3xBCC blocks today and now litecoin http://i.imgur.com/GZOT7A5.png
I know what you mean exactly.. I solved two BCC blocks in under 3 days... now i am soloing for 36 hours straight... nothing

fattygrub · · #10189

i too was thinking of soloing BCC because my worker(s) found four a couple days ago...but after looking into it i calculating that i would have to run 1G for several days to find one block...so about 17% profit in 5 -7 days, MAYBE. better off sticking with the pool for easy 10 - 20% every day. still looking for soloing ops though.

aricee23 · · #10190

anyone elses power usage estamates way off?

fattygrub · · #10191

steve said several days ago in a "status report" that those power usages are inaccurate right now. it is in the list of things-to-do and scheduled as far as i can recollect.

aricee23 · · #10192

Thanks @fattygrub

zckmnr · · #10193

does PH have twitter or something else that we can check for news/maintenance times?

fattygrub · · #10194

yes go to google search "prohashing twitter"

FRISKIE · · #10195

PH has a twitter feed

fattygrub · · #10196

and we have a slack team link on the way

GregoryGHarding · · #10197

https://join.slack.com/prohashing/shared_invite/MjA0NTkyOTY3NDU4LTE0OTg2MDg0MDItZWI1NDVkMzMyNg

fattygrub · · #10198

nicehash frontend is down..can’t login from any devices...orders still hashing ..but can refill or cancel..cloudflare 522

fattygrub · · #10199

NH api down too, api worky worky

fattygrub · · #10200

back up.. first time i saw them go down in two months... all ok now

zckmnr · · #10201

thanks for slack! Also about twitter link, i was looking for twitter icon somewhere around website so hard, i totally ignored the feed somehow. Thanks tho :D

FRISKIE · · #10202

Is BCC stuck again?

fattygrub · · #10203

no, bcc is not stuck, all appears normal with that coin
