GPU0: Idle for more than 60 seconds, declaring SICK! [17:36:16] GPU0: Attempting to restart [17:36:16] Thread 0 still exists, killing it off [17:36:16] Thread 1 still exists, killing it off

Greemhold · · #12727

why is this happening?

FRISKIE · · #12728

@ Greemhold - for the next few days just expect the unexpected mate :) Need to wait for segwit signalling to finish with and probably attacks will stop. . hopefully at least!

mickeekung · · #12729

Hmmm Does the same problem occur to the pool again?

FRISKIE · · #12730

Sure , its not surprising there were just over a hundred blocks left last time I checked, seems like the attacks may be related to the whole bitcoin fork circus :D

FRISKIE · · #12731

Really hope so anyway :-|

Ut Oh Server is beginning to choke again. I would like to make a suggestion that the server[s CPU usage be posted somewhere so we can see when the site is having trouble.

mmfiore · · #12734

I put on both the earnings page and the chart page.

mmfiore · · #12735

that way I and some of the others could switch to another pool until things stablize. we could then prevent the big crash where everyone loses out.

mmfiore · · #12736

switching miners now to help prevent the pool from crashing

FRISKIE · · #12737

@ mmfiore - good idea!

mmfiore · · #12738

server still lagging badly 37 minute delay in updates.

mmfiore · · #12739

It appears to still be increasing. now 41 minutes

mmfiore · · #12740

I am noting that this trouble started at about 11:30 am est. Maybe there is some process running that is tying up the processor

mmfiore · · #12741

58 minutes and still climbing

n00bminer · · #12742

pool dead?

FRISKIE · · #12743

Or some creative attacks pointing at coins that generate lots of work for the CPU?

mrgoldy · · #12744

dead for me

biscayne · · #12745

pool is down again

AvPro · · #12746

BIP 91 ,very much going to lock-in :)))))

mmfiore · · #12747

I switched my miners to another pool as soon as pool started having performance problems.

mmfiore · · #12748

I watched as the performance continued to degrade and finally die. It seems to be happening at least once a day so far.

mmfiore · · #12749

I am requesting that they do a live update of their CPU status on the server somewhere on the website.

mmfiore · · #12750

I am assuming this is being caused by a system overload as stated the other day.

FRISKIE · · #12751

BIP 91 ,very much going to lock-in :)))))
You seem happy about that? :)

FRISKIE · · #12752

For me BIP91 is like in the NFL when they "punt the ball" :D

n00bminer · · #12753

will be fun to watch core devs get pissy

AvPro · · #12754

I am happy about that ;) (for now) look at the BTC_USD pair

FRISKIE · · #12755

That sums it up perfect - "am happy about that . . for now" :D

FRISKIE · · #12756

Judging BTC/USD pair, it was a good punt ;)

Greemhold · · #12757

anyone here?

mmfiore · · #12758

hello

mmfiore · · #12759

pool is still down. Would be good to get an update as to what has caused this outage.

FRISKIE · · #12760

Started out earlier today same as other days, moment will find the link to an earlier performance graph

FRISKIE · · #12761

This one’s from @ spork earlier today, I had a NH order going around the same time - https://imgsafe.org/image/084b539ac3

mmfiore · · #12762

yes I am trying to determine if there is some pattern

FRISKIE · · #12763

See how regular the intervals are

FRISKIE · · #12764

The pattern is there for sure, as in pattern of regular intervals , is why I immediately thought of the NH bots again as a possible culprit

mmfiore · · #12765

I am looking at the graph. can you explain this graph and tell me what is the key measurement that you are looking at.

FRISKIE · · #12766

Well for me what immediately jumps out are the regular intervals of 100% rejects

mmfiore · · #12767

So far I see bumps of increase rejection rates associated to dips in hashing speed.

FRISKIE · · #12768

Not exactly, there a red delta below that would add to the blue showing what you "paid for"

mmfiore · · #12769

I see this started at 11:30am est This is when I noticed a lag occuring on share updates

FRISKIE · · #12770

The red obviously being what failed to get used by the mining server and reported back . . so I see it all as consistent with CPU saturation

mmfiore · · #12771

oh I thought the light blue was speed at the pool

mmfiore · · #12772

yes I want them to post the cpu usage number live on the website.

mmfiore · · #12773

I was hoping that when I pulled my miners things would improve. That did not help though.

FRISKIE · · #12774

Judging as well by the set of mitigations the brothers have implemented to try and thwart the degradation, we know that they are trying to head off workers that are flooding shares and saturating the CPU

FRISKIE · · #12775

That it’s a type of attack, I believe there is little doubt, or?

FRISKIE · · #12776

I was hoping that when I pulled my miners things would improve. That did not help though.
Exactly, consistent with an attack where there are plenty of shares to flow in and occupy the new space :(

mmfiore · · #12777

I also set my difficulty to 32768 from 8192 in hopes that that would help

FRISKIE · · #12778

Uhum, clearly the mitigation with ignoring static diff didn’t really work as hoped for, as diff kept climbing to over 500

FRISKIE · · #12779

In other words, it didn’t matter how high it got, it still wanted higher :(

FRISKIE · · #12780

By the way, they used too many shades of blue on that graph, so a little difficult to describe the analysis :D

mmfiore · · #12781

I wonder if they could set up a second mining pool operation until the scaleable version is ready to go.

mmfiore · · #12782

or perhaps limit the amount of user connections if the server starts to bog down.

mmfiore · · #12783

anything is better than a complete hard crash that lasts for hours.

mmfiore · · #12784

what the hell happened to the coin networks. everything just went waco

GregoryGHarding · · #12785

never.

mmfiore · · #12794

well i am going to abadon ship as I am losing revenue because of all the down time. I will checkin and come back when this pool starts running reliably

virtuado · · #12796

I really liked it here, but i already did move on. Every now and then i will check and when things got back to normal i will return.

mmfiore · · #12797

hey gentarkin how you doin?

its not about being positive or negative. it is a fact of present inactivity and and them doing nothing to fix it? anyone wanna bet?? they have < 30% uptime for the next thirty days. bet.

Fearing · · #12799

Good evening, any Updates about the Poolstatus?

taka · · #12800

We can mining here? And can set difficulty or

taka · · #12801

Not?

[/quote] I was joking! :) You have a point, it’s not looking good at all. Disconnections every day is bad for business... But in my opinion it’s not that " the brothers" are doing nothing to fix it, but if i understood rigth in the past days, it takes some time to address it.

what is best setting for password on baikal cube?

agapes · · #12808

i put a=x11!! is that enough or anything else is better?

citronick · · #12809

a=x11 in password field for baikal cubes -- doesnt seem to get full hash power

citronick · · #12810

any luck agapes?

Searing · · #12811

what was the reason for the downtime today..slam’d by x11 miners (big ones) and /or ddos?
