I’m restarting the mining server so that hashrates reported in the charts from now on will be correct. The incorrect hashrates on the charts never affected earnings. I will correct the historical hashrates on charts after the server is back online.

FRISKIE · · #6373

Will the X11 and Scrypt profit rates that are displayed at the top of the page be more accurate too?

GAWminer27 · · #6374

yeah, tmopar, i understand...was just kidding around about the situation...I’m holding on to mine...for sure.

Chris Sokolowski · · #6375

No, the live stats are unchanged

FRISKIE · · #6376

Ok

Chris Sokolowski · · #6377

They were correct all along

FRISKIE · · #6378

Thanks

FRISKIE · · #6379

Okidok, appreciate the info

GregoryGHarding · · #6380

hey chris, wanna mod me steve said if im up for keeping the forum clean hes good for it

tmopar · · #6381

If you send a transaction with no fee, is there a chance it will never confirm? if so, what happens to the coin sent is it lost forever? Would pushing a second transaction through with a fee dislodge the first?>

GregoryGHarding · · #6382

the no fee threshold is no fee to you, PH pays the fee

tmopar · · #6383

this is a private transaction not a disbursement from PH

tmopar · · #6384

i sent a 2nd coin through, it did not dislodge the first and has confirmed

tmopar · · #6385

already

GregoryGHarding · · #6386

shares are prioritised to the higher fee.. if you lower the fee or remove it completely, it will take longer

tmopar · · #6387

what im asking isl... once its left the wallet... can I add a fee later? can i get the coin back... I havent done many practical payments

GregoryGHarding · · #6388

your answer is no, its in the blockchain for processing now

GregoryGHarding · · #6389

can you not solo x11 coins? i pointed some of my miners to virtacoinplus and it connects with stratum errors and shows on the stats page as connected with scrypt

tmopar · · #6390

I have read that ater a certain amount of time an unconfirmed transaction will fizzle and go back to the previous state... can anyone confirm that?

JKDReaper · · #6391

tmopar wrote: I have read that ater a certain amount of time an unconfirmed transaction will fizzle and go back to the previous state... can anyone confirm that?
I tested a btc transaction a while back with a TINY fee...it showed back up in the sending address several times over 3.5 weeks and then tried to resend over and over. I had to finally have coinbase rush it usimg their free thing.

JKDReaper · · #6393

That was sendimg from Coinomi to Cryptopia btw

tmopar · · #6394

I did this on LTC

tmopar · · #6395

I sent 1 coin with 0 fee... i should have tested with a smaller amount, but oh well. Part of me doesnt want to write it off but i am not sure what i can do... If i switched wallets or transferred the .dat file over would that remove the transaction from being rebroadcast? If it never gets confirmed its like it never happened right?

JKDReaper · · #6396

I’m not sure if it was a receiving address thing, or a blockchain thing that kept sendimg it back, so would be afraid to give you a definate but i’ve understood it to work that way...dunno if LTC is setup to do same, sorry

VanessaEzekowitz · · #6397

afraid not, tmopar. however, you probably didn’t lose it. normally a coin with too low a fee will just take forever to confirm

JKDReaper · · #6398

I think once its sent its gone...unless the chain returns it. If its sent back and not re-sent out, theoritically it’ll stay in sendimg wallet

GregoryGHarding · · #6399

once its sent its in the blockchain, and low priority, youre in a waiting game now

JKDReaper · · #6400

As long as it’s hanging in the chain, it’s gone...if its returned, thats where it could only be possible...only way i know of atleast

tmopar · · #6401

how long is forever on the blockchain... a month? a year?

tmopar · · #6402

its to a friend so theres no commerce or anything dependent on it... it was really a gift.

tmopar · · #6403

thats why i didnt put a fee on it

VanessaEzekowitz · · #6404

I imagine "forever" would be measured in days to weeks

tmopar · · #6405

if its now in this limbo... what event will dislodge and precipitate its release?

tmopar · · #6406

a slow block?

VanessaEzekowitz · · #6407

(to me, considering this is modern high speed tech, anything more than a few minutes is "forever". there’s no legit reason a transaction should ever take more than few minutes to clear)

JKDReaper · · #6408

Youd have to have it confirmed in a block with other zero fee transactions, or enough room in a block where a zero fee wouldnt need priority (unlikely id imagime with ltc)

VanessaEzekowitz · · #6410

I have no idea what you could do to push it along.

VanessaEzekowitz · · #6411

go away spammer

tmopar · · #6412

no i meant like why suddenly at this moment and not the next would it suddenly begin confirming and i think jkd explained... there has to be a bunch of the zero transactions together? to fill their own block?

VanessaEzekowitz · · #6413

something like that. I do recall reading something like that earlier today while looking up something related, actually

VanessaEzekowitz · · #6414

(was trying to find out the current network minimum transaction value and lowest recommended fee)

JKDReaper · · #6415

Not necesarrily a bunch...but atleast one that was sent later than your, but also in that same block, it couldnt be filled with transactions that had fees attached. Its possible in a slow transaction period or higj found block volume period

tmopar · · #6416

I can safely say i wont be messing with that transaction fee anymore. What i cant understand though is how people like on ebay can send small amounts of BTC for like 4 or 5 dollars... are they doing this zero transaction or near it thing?

VanessaEzekowitz · · #6417

good question

JKDReaper · · #6418

Have you read on how coinbase prioritizes theirs (or can rather)

VanessaEzekowitz · · #6419

don’t get me started on coinbase...

JKDReaper · · #6420

If they find the block...they can push a transaction

tmopar · · #6421

no... although that is the destination of these coins

tmopar · · #6422

oooooo old school mining icon type stuff from BTC?

VanessaEzekowitz · · #6423

I bought a little bit earlier today.... they said it’s gonna take as far out as June 21 to confirm it into my balance because of EFT timing. horseshit, someone’s making money off of crap like that >:-(

JKDReaper · · #6424

Oh i agree lol...just in the info on that ability, it deacribes rouhhly how. Basically

tmopar · · #6425

besides coin base is there any better/safer place to cash out when the time comes

tmopar · · #6426

I had thought about selling them fractionally on ebay... but i need a fire escape too

VanessaEzekowitz · · #6427

tmopar, some people trust cryptsy

VanessaEzekowitz · · #6428

but I’ve never used them for btc <-> usd

GregoryGHarding · · #6429

usually they are sending multiple transactions at once

JKDReaper · · #6430

*Basically, if one of the big pools find a block, they can push througj transactions of choice

tmopar · · #6431

up to the block limit

tmopar · · #6433

ah so there is a way! I just need to set the wallet up for mining and solo mine for 20 days

tmopar · · #6434

till i find a block

tmopar · · #6435

?

JKDReaper · · #6436

Do you use Xapo (ya i know...but for like $5 for first year you can get a debt card and uae at ATM...im talkimg like not hundreds of thousands obviously)

VanessaEzekowitz · · #6437

never heard of Xapo

GregoryGHarding · · #6438

thts not how it works

JKDReaper · · #6439

I think there is a lot more to it...they are selecting specific transactions...not juat their blocks

VanessaEzekowitz · · #6440

I wonder if MtGOX ever recovered from that fiasco a few years ago ;)

GregoryGHarding · · #6441

coinomi is the best wallet

JKDReaper · · #6442

I agree Greg

VanessaEzekowitz · · #6443

I’m rockin’ it oldskool - local PC litecoin wallet :)

tmopar · · #6444

thats essentially what i have too airgapped

tmopar · · #6445

So for clarification, if you send a transaction that is unconfirmed mining a block on the same wallet will not guarantee it will push through?

JKDReaper · · #6446

They MAY just be tacking on additional fees to the specific transactions...i k ow one place that does it is using it to push their preference of splitting btc or the alternatives

JKDReaper · · #6447

Correct

tmopar · · #6448

Tuition paid then I guess, dont mess with the transaction fees

GregoryGHarding · · #6449

yes never fuck with transaction fees, unless theres a preset minimum

VanessaEzekowitz · · #6450

with LTC I just pay the wallet’s suggested fee, since the result is such a tiny amount anyway

GregoryGHarding · · #6451

no matter who wins the upcoming crypto lottery in august.. litecoin wil be a winner regardless as steve pointed out, bo matter who tops the main used currency, litecoin profits soar

VanessaEzekowitz · · #6452

(that’s why I like LTC. it’s like 10x faster and cheaper)

JKDReaper · · #6453

@GregoryGHarding :  Couldn’t agree more

tmopar · · #6455

I agree... LTC is still undervalued

tmopar · · #6456

side issue... anyone ever messed with an alchemist miner

GregoryGHarding · · #6457

no

JKDReaper · · #6458

Miners are way out of my knowledge base...I’m working toward buying and building my first two...just renting with trade profits till then...sorry

tmopar · · #6460

JK you renting @ nicehash?

GregoryGHarding · · #6461

would people hate me if i wrote malware to mine on PH for me

JKDReaper · · #6462

Depends...i compare costs between their and MRR.

GregoryGHarding · · #6463

"No valid shares yet..." sigh.. the new starting diff's fault

JKDReaper · · #6464

Recently (as you’ve pointed out), their rates are to prone to bouncing up and down during any rental period that i use that in order to keep it going with hash it costs more than i can get at MRR.

JKDReaper · · #6465

The thing with MRR...if you search for already rented rigs, you can catch the cheap ones and get some good deals

GregoryGHarding · · #6466

MRR is...

JKDReaper · · #6467

Plus with MRR, I can rent for 4 hours or whatever and catch high profit periods and coins here

JKDReaper · · #6468

Mining Rig Rentals

tmopar · · #6469

MRR?

tmopar · · #6470

o really

tmopar · · #6471

interesting

GregoryGHarding · · #6472

tmopar · · #6474

fascinating. Lots of also to choose from... are they cheaper than NH?

JKDReaper · · #6475

Scrypt usually is more profitable to rent there. My experience atleast, and using this pool. Best return I’ve managed was with Sha ironically though, more than tripled what i paid...rare situation where I found the right rig and rigjt coin at right time lol

tmopar · · #6476

you do sha256 alt coins?

JKDReaper · · #6477

At times, yes
