Unless you have a LOT of money to spend on Doge of Shib "long term" is the best way to make money off them. The Day Traders that pumped thousands in are why the price stabilized cause they sold when Doge broke $.30 and Shib was close to killing a zero. Something will trigger that again as Sumoblei said and it will spike. Since both coins have a lot of HODL (I really hate that) superfans best bet for us is to just ride the waves and wait until we hit a high enough number we can’t say no. If we like maybe selling off bits and pieces to take out some profits. For six months I did that with Doge and got over 7.5 times my investment (plus recouped my investment)

I just started mining on prohashing about two hours ago. When does the payout status or balances update? On the dashboard it says i’ve mined 35 cents so far so i know its early, just looking at expectations. Thanks!

Are you talking about the Payouts Summary box on the bottom left of the dashboard?

The old address isn’t displayed because the data is stored offline. You can submit new data and it will replace the old data.

I would guess it is because of some fee on the way, but don’t quote me on that. I just looked up that thing of yours, 3420W. I would be afraid that my cables would melt. Thats like 34 of my 3060ti going to work, and a few additional fans

On coins like that the whales are always selling off...then when it deeps they rebuy or other whales come back in. That is why it rebounds (which it is slightly doing today) and why those of us getting paid in it and holding are going to win in the end :)

Well, that could be said in regards to anything really. But the real metric is the amount of risk you take and the ROI you get.

Well obviously...thankfully we are early enough in that for a few bucks you are set up quite nicely. I mean I am adding like 10k a day. I figure it will be 2-3 years before it truly pays off (if it does) and there will be lots of ups and downs before then

Mastermind007 · · #100097

Has anyone done some testing on Verus (VRSC)? I have a couple of test rigs that I use for benchmarking and based on a 24hr test set the profit from CPU mining Verus is higher than XMR. Curios if anyone else can confirm this.

Mastermind007 · · #100098

Not a lot of options for CPU mining and XMR has been a slow march down for the past year. At the current rate is will not be profitable to mine in about 6 months unless you have free power.

RBCunningham · · #100099

Anyone know why I might have (3) workers on my dashboard and mining page when I only have 1 miner working?

Mastermind007 · · #100100

It happens from time to time. The two phantom one will disappear after a bit. They do not cause any issues and your hashrate will be normal for your 1 worker.

-MaVerick- · · #100101

Mastermind007 wrote: Not a lot of options for CPU mining and XMR has been a slow march down for the past year. At the current rate is will not be profitable to mine in about 6 months unless you have free power.
Yeah it fell pretty hard over the time, 7cents+ was +/-0 for me, but this now is in the minus with power costs in mind

Mastermind007 · · #100102

Need to find an alternative for XMR. I have really low power costs, which is the only reason I have continued with it. Unless it turns around it is not going to be worth it.

Mastermind007 · · #100103

To our Prohashing team, Are there any plans to offer a CPU minable option other than XMR in the near future?

KAWPOW is an very nice addition to the lineup. Looking forward to that. I what speaking specifically to CPU mining algo’s as Monero on the Randomx algo is becoming unprofitable to mine.

I hear ya. We live in the 21st century and we are still dealing with an outdated timekeeping mechanism.

Sumoblei · · #100110

Indian say "Only white man cut 4" from top of blanket and sew it to bottom of blanket and think he has longer blanket!"

-MaVerick- · · #100111

its the same every year. Daylight saving time comes, everybody hates it and the whole EU is discussing to get rid of it. In 2 weeks everything will be forgotten again until the next timechange and the cycle starts again

-MaVerick- · · #100112

its like battlestar galactica, you cannot break that cycle

Mastermind007 · · #100113

So I now have some real world date, comparing XMR to VRSC (Verus), which is another CPU minable coin. On my test rig I get a consistent $0.26/24hrs mining XMR. That same rig gets $0.35/24hrs mining Verus. Ran each coin twice, 24hr each test. The result variation is 1 cent per test. There is a pool fee difference as Prohashing is a little higher but that in not much and does not cover the cap between the two coins. I am not saying everyone should drop XMR and switch. I only wanted to share my finding since I mentioned this previously.

I have not as well because I did not want to lock it up. There is also now the issue of if staked on coinbase after august 30 2021 you could lose everything stacked due to a slashing event. They do not guarantee the principal anymore

it’s only a matter of time before standard time is used year round, as Asia has done

Steve Sokolowski · · #100118

some countries foolishly try to implement year round daylight time, like Putin did, and they quickly realize how stupid of an idea it is for the sun to rise at 10am, and go to standard time and stay there

Alynn · · #100119

I’m of the mind that the easiest thing is to just wait till the next time change. Adjust by 30 minutes, and then never touch it again.

Steve Sokolowski · · #100120

there’s no reason for daylight savings time at all - it would be nice to have the sun set at a reasonable time of 8:00 during the summer

dhandler01 · · #100121

Sumoblei wrote: Has anyone else staked their ETH?... I’m not so sure I want to lock it up....
I have staked out a portion. Earning interest on Coinbase doing it. Since I don’t plan to sell any time soon it made sense

Trying to get ACH payouts and have completed 2/3 steps, what exactly is referred to as a “non legacy password” couldn’t find anything unless I missed it

Mastermind007 · · #100124

Password needs to be a strong one. Change your password and it will past the test.

Mastermind007 · · #100125

Per the help documentation, "On Monday, November 1, 2021, Prohashing strengthened the hashing algorithm used when saving passwords. Customers using legacy passwords —passwords created before Monday, November 1, 2021— will need to change their passwords to access certain services. Additionally, passwords are now required to be at least 8-characters in length."

Steve Sokolowski · · #100126

Dwolla requires passwords of at least 8 characters and a different hashing algorithm

Steve Sokolowski · · #100127

just reset the same password if you’d like so it’s re-hashed with their preferred bcrypt algorithm

DST is used in most of the Europe. It’s not that stupid from the point of having sun rise at 7 AM, without it the beginning of the day and end would be pretty much offset. Issue with Summer & Winter time is that it’s very expensive to manage, shift and costs a lot when calculated, so benefits of it may outweigh the trouble, hustle and cost.

You get a payout everyday at 11pm CST if you have mined enough to meet a payout. You can adjust this at the PAYOUT section to choose what you get paid and what the payout is.
