and yes, I dont think a 4X fold in the next year would be unheard of

maybe 3X...look for 30K next year on BTC?
AppleMiner · Wed Nov 29, 2017 09:11 PM UTC · #52402
so 200L a month...how much were the 5 video cards?
AppleMiner · Wed Nov 29, 2017 09:12 PM UTC · #52404
when I was computing it, GPU rigs took a bit longer to get ROI, but they had a resale down the road, the ASICs made ROI in half the time, but have 0 resell once used up.
AppleMiner · Wed Nov 29, 2017 09:12 PM UTC · #52405
so its a case by case comparison
djliss · Wed Nov 29, 2017 09:14 PM UTC · #52406
i have 4 x 1070’s, 3 were free off my supplier, i paid £380 for 1 and my 1080 cost me £500, rest of the kit (mainboard etc i either had or begged borrowed or stole from work) so the way i look at it is my gpu’s pay for electricity with about £3 proffit a day and all my antminer and gridseeds is pure proffit
AppleMiner · Wed Nov 29, 2017 09:14 PM UTC · #52407
free equipment always the way to go
AppleMiner · Wed Nov 29, 2017 09:14 PM UTC · #52408
was looking at for those that have to BUY the parts and put a rig together if its worthwhile really
AppleMiner · Wed Nov 29, 2017 09:15 PM UTC · #52412
and at l200 a month, would take 10 months to catch ROI
djliss · Wed Nov 29, 2017 09:15 PM UTC · #52413
could probably get the ti version for 400
djliss · Wed Nov 29, 2017 09:16 PM UTC · #52415
or just over and they can do an extra 50 sol/s each
AppleMiner · Wed Nov 29, 2017 09:16 PM UTC · #52416
could get a L3+ for 3K and prolly still hit that same mark, but the GPUs can resell in a year or 2
AppleMiner · Wed Nov 29, 2017 09:17 PM UTC · #52417
but if only paid 1500 for a L3+....could get that in 4 months?
djliss · Wed Nov 29, 2017 09:17 PM UTC · #52418
thats the idea, resell while they still have a decent value
AppleMiner · Wed Nov 29, 2017 09:17 PM UTC · #52419
did you see the pics i added on the post of my first GPu setups DJ?
AppleMiner · Wed Nov 29, 2017 09:18 PM UTC · #52420
was looking for the rigs and had to upload them somewhere to host them first
AppleMiner · Wed Nov 29, 2017 09:18 PM UTC · #52422
2nd forum from the bottom general discussions
djliss · Wed Nov 29, 2017 09:18 PM UTC · #52423
no mate, since the 12th i have made £450 on all my rigs with 100 electricity costs so 300 proffit
AppleMiner · Wed Nov 29, 2017 09:18 PM UTC · #52424
the GPU rigs or all together?
djliss · Wed Nov 29, 2017 09:19 PM UTC · #52426
nice setup, gpu, antminer and 3 gridseed blades
AppleMiner · Wed Nov 29, 2017 09:21 PM UTC · #52427
is there a better GPU rig coin other than eth to mine with a better payout?
djliss · Wed Nov 29, 2017 09:21 PM UTC · #52428
a few cards there lol, so you have a bit of equipment lol
AppleMiner · Wed Nov 29, 2017 09:21 PM UTC · #52429
that's what I was basing the earnings on when i was doing the calcs the last time i evaluated asic vs gpus for next miner setups
AppleMiner · Wed Nov 29, 2017 09:22 PM UTC · #52431
i ran them all for a year, sold it all off
djliss · Wed Nov 29, 2017 09:22 PM UTC · #52432
i mine zcash, i tried zen for 24 hours and switched back to zcash, a little more proffit and easy to shapeshift in my wallet
AppleMiner · Wed Nov 29, 2017 09:22 PM UTC · #52433
didnt really have any profit, wasnt until this year when i sold those coins I made the profit on the whole affair
AppleMiner · Wed Nov 29, 2017 09:23 PM UTC · #52434
so was 3 years of being in the hole from mining, i think it was dash.
djliss · Wed Nov 29, 2017 09:23 PM UTC · #52435
the best things come to those that wait lol
djliss · Wed Nov 29, 2017 09:24 PM UTC · #52436
i’m £1700 off roi for everything at the moment, got £1960 back for my antminer so only paid £700 for it!!
djliss · Wed Nov 29, 2017 09:26 PM UTC · #52437
i’m also using all my spare cpu power on my machines to mine btcz not worth anything at the mo but hoping it rises to 1-2c $1 would be nice lol i have 7500 of em at the mo lol
djliss · Wed Nov 29, 2017 09:27 PM UTC · #52438
i think i have shown you a pic of my heath robinson rig lol
djliss · Wed Nov 29, 2017 09:28 PM UTC · #52439
if i get anymore free gpu’s i’ll build another rig
AppleMiner · Wed Nov 29, 2017 09:30 PM UTC · #52441
go post up a pic on that post
AppleMiner · Wed Nov 29, 2017 09:31 PM UTC · #52442
id like to see how other peoples rigs are setup, to see if someone found a way to do something i didnt think of before
AppleMiner · Wed Nov 29, 2017 09:31 PM UTC · #52443
can that mobo take more than 5 GPUs?
AppleMiner · Wed Nov 29, 2017 09:32 PM UTC · #52444
did you have them plugged in directly or using powered riser cards?
AppleMiner · Wed Nov 29, 2017 09:33 PM UTC · #52445
i was pissed I had mobos with 7 slots and i had enough risers to use them all, but the mobo could only access up to 6, so I had to get a 3rd setup and 4 more cards to run it over
djliss · Wed Nov 29, 2017 09:36 PM UTC · #52446
gutted lol, just put pics up, the pc on top of the server isn’t there anymore, was before i got all my cards and a breakout for my server psu
djliss · Wed Nov 29, 2017 09:36 PM UTC · #52447
that could have been down to the last full size slot speed in the bios
djliss · Wed Nov 29, 2017 09:37 PM UTC · #52448
had to cut the pcie lanes down to 4x from 8x on last 16x slot to get all 5 working
djliss · Wed Nov 29, 2017 09:39 PM UTC · #52449
and 5 is the max, its an asus p8z77-v (an 1155 board) so a 4-5 year old board i found at work with an i7 in
AppleMiner · Wed Nov 29, 2017 09:39 PM UTC · #52450
i ended up pluggined the card directly into the x16 slots
AppleMiner · Wed Nov 29, 2017 09:39 PM UTC · #52451
and then used the risers on the others
AppleMiner · Wed Nov 29, 2017 09:40 PM UTC · #52452
thats funny i think i just sold one of those boards last week
AppleMiner · Wed Nov 29, 2017 09:40 PM UTC · #52453
i had 3 of the msi gaming pro boards
AppleMiner · Wed Nov 29, 2017 09:41 PM UTC · #52454
im thinking those were 1155 and had not even i3 but celerons on them
djliss · Wed Nov 29, 2017 09:41 PM UTC · #52455
i had a lot of crashes until i ballanced the power properly, the atx psu is the same age, it was my gaming pc until i sold it to work 3 years ago, then the boss gave me the board and psu back, just left the ram and i7 in when i took it home lol
djliss · Wed Nov 29, 2017 09:43 PM UTC · #52456
i’ll buy an asrock btc pro if i get my hands on anymore cards and a proper rig frame
djliss · Wed Nov 29, 2017 09:44 PM UTC · #52457
would be nice if i could add pcie lanes to a rpi
AppleMiner · Wed Nov 29, 2017 09:46 PM UTC · #52458
https://www.element14.com/community/message/94891/l/how-can-i-have-pci-or-pci-express-on-raspberry-pi#94891
djliss · Wed Nov 29, 2017 09:52 PM UTC · #52461
hehe, i don’t think it would work well, the buss speeds of pcie are too high, even though mining is very little data passing i dont think it would start up the cards properly, plus i dbout there are arm drivers for nv cards
djliss · Wed Nov 29, 2017 09:53 PM UTC · #52462
mabe a low power atom board with a 1x pcie extender card would work though
djliss · Wed Nov 29, 2017 09:55 PM UTC · #52463
but for the price a 5 pcie board, chip and ram can be bought for around £170 and have plenty of server psu’s (’borrowed’ from work)
djliss · Wed Nov 29, 2017 09:56 PM UTC · #52464
or i might just buy another antminer from the jan batch (if there is one)
djliss · Wed Nov 29, 2017 10:07 PM UTC · #52465
god dam next batch is march, probably won’t be worth it then
djliss · Wed Nov 29, 2017 10:08 PM UTC · #52466
coin value starting to rise again
crika1 · Wed Nov 29, 2017 10:26 PM UTC · #52467

djliss · Wed Nov 29, 2017 10:29 PM UTC · #52468

crika1 · Wed Nov 29, 2017 11:07 PM UTC · #52469

jess_1 · Thu Nov 30, 2017 12:12 AM UTC · #52470
i think they are gonna launch a new piece
crika1 · Thu Nov 30, 2017 12:32 AM UTC · #52473
yeah you could be right,
Aura89 · Thu Nov 30, 2017 01:31 AM UTC · #52474
I’m really getting tired of bitmain only accepting BCH as payment.
crika1 · Thu Nov 30, 2017 01:37 AM UTC · #52475
yeah gotta use shapeshift to transfer it hehehe
fallingcurtain · Thu Nov 30, 2017 02:15 AM UTC · #52476
Jaxx Wallet just got BCH update
fallingcurtain · Thu Nov 30, 2017 02:20 AM UTC · #52478
Bitmain is loading BCH while its low.
mycide · Thu Nov 30, 2017 02:21 AM UTC · #52479

fallingcurtain · Thu Nov 30, 2017 02:25 AM UTC · #52481
Shapeshift feature is pretty cool.

fallingcurtain wrote: crika1 wrote: @djliss : woowww that is interesting MARCH delivery not really, China has a month off in feb still s9 is being shipped in Jan, so no reason for the L3+ to go from dec batch sold out to next batch being available in march hehehe
fallingcurtain · Thu Nov 30, 2017 03:58 AM UTC · #52489
Their holiday is an entire month
fallingcurtain · Thu Nov 30, 2017 03:59 AM UTC · #52490
Makes perfect sense. Plus they will be running those L3 units from now until then.
fallingcurtain · Thu Nov 30, 2017 04:03 AM UTC · #52491
I’m looking for the exact holiday dates now
fallingcurtain · Thu Nov 30, 2017 04:16 AM UTC · #52492
OK so holiday starts feb15th and goes up to March 15 depending on factory. Many close for one month
fallingcurtain · Thu Nov 30, 2017 04:18 AM UTC · #52493
Anyone have an S9 around here? I’m thinking about getting a couple but the power is so high. Feels like a good direction to go given the market buy I’m just guessing
AppleMiner · Thu Nov 30, 2017 04:18 AM UTC · #52494
until yesterday Id have looked into more L3+s
AppleMiner · Thu Nov 30, 2017 04:19 AM UTC · #52495
after 15% diff adjustment today, probably not now
crika1 · Thu Nov 30, 2017 04:33 AM UTC · #52496

I am runnung 1xS9 ...~1200W... ~1.5 BCH cents - Bitcoin Cash - per day x $1500=~$20/day ...cost me ~$100 per month electricity
ZiGen · Thu Nov 30, 2017 04:34 AM UTC · #52498
like S3 back in 2013 with Bitcoin ...
