you have 21 of them you should know apple
miles888 · Tue Nov 07, 2017 05:59 PM UTC · #46057
I might as well once it gets a little colder out. What clock are you running them at apple?
AppleMiner · Tue Nov 07, 2017 05:59 PM UTC · #46058
i think those i actually underclocked to get good sets from them
miles888 · Tue Nov 07, 2017 05:59 PM UTC · #46061
What temp do you aim for?
confusedjtag · Tue Nov 07, 2017 05:59 PM UTC · #46063
I only tripped breakers first day when i put two on a 15 which you can do that but not to safe, when other things are active on the circuit you get a trip
confusedjtag · Tue Nov 07, 2017 06:00 PM UTC · #46067
I just so happen to be in luck that my hotub is currently not in use so im having that split off for 5 machines
Paul_sq · Tue Nov 07, 2017 06:00 PM UTC · #46068
apple, do you know why I get HW errors when i run on the same 240v circuit?
AppleMiner · Tue Nov 07, 2017 06:01 PM UTC · #46069
HW errors just happen normally
AppleMiner · Tue Nov 07, 2017 06:01 PM UTC · #46070
and are a part of it, its just how how and how many per hour
tuanvinh · Tue Nov 07, 2017 06:01 PM UTC · #46071
@Apple: what do you think about L3+ profit in December and 2018 Jan ?
Paul_sq · Tue Nov 07, 2017 06:01 PM UTC · #46072
when I run just 1 on the circuit I get absolutely0
AppleMiner · Tue Nov 07, 2017 06:01 PM UTC · #46073
if its spiking up on 1 board the OC may be too high
Paul_sq · Tue Nov 07, 2017 06:02 PM UTC · #46075
but they are oc’d to shut people up I think
AppleMiner · Tue Nov 07, 2017 06:02 PM UTC · #46076
are you running on 110 or 220 for the D3s?
Paul_sq · Tue Nov 07, 2017 06:03 PM UTC · #46078
its an ac circuit to a pdu
miles888 · Tue Nov 07, 2017 06:03 PM UTC · #46079
Yeah that step up concerned me @confusedjtag, do be careful with those converters. 1800 watts max per 15 amp circuit and the inverters have efficiency losses too
Paul_sq · Tue Nov 07, 2017 06:03 PM UTC · #46080
but same circuit just running 1 unit gives 0 errors
AppleMiner · Tue Nov 07, 2017 06:03 PM UTC · #46081
i went with the bitmain rated powers, i didnt want the step up and genertor and trransformer headaches
AppleMiner · Tue Nov 07, 2017 06:04 PM UTC · #46082
just wondering if its getting enough juice from that setup
Paul_sq · Tue Nov 07, 2017 06:04 PM UTC · #46083
I am running the 220v+ apw3’s
AppleMiner · Tue Nov 07, 2017 06:04 PM UTC · #46084
that shuold be plenty of power then
AppleMiner · Tue Nov 07, 2017 06:04 PM UTC · #46085
at 220 dont they go up to 1600?
Paul_sq · Tue Nov 07, 2017 06:05 PM UTC · #46087
yes they can produce that but will only supply what is needed up to 1600w
AppleMiner · Tue Nov 07, 2017 06:05 PM UTC · #46088
i was worried when i saw the D3s - 19GH i was like if they upped the hash they need a bit more power
AppleMiner · Tue Nov 07, 2017 06:05 PM UTC · #46089
and they were 1200, so does the amp3+ work on D3s at 19gh
miles888 · Tue Nov 07, 2017 06:06 PM UTC · #46091
Oh yeah what’s up with those? I got the late nov batch but it was supposed to be 15gh?
miles888 · Tue Nov 07, 2017 06:06 PM UTC · #46092
Is this an OC or a revised batch
AppleMiner · Tue Nov 07, 2017 06:06 PM UTC · #46093
the original batch was 15, then a batch was 17 and the nov batch is now 19
AppleMiner · Tue Nov 07, 2017 06:06 PM UTC · #46094
that i do not know i figured they just tuned the clocks up on 'default setting'
Paul_sq · Tue Nov 07, 2017 06:06 PM UTC · #46095
they were only drawing 850w at 15gh/s and 1150 w at 19.3gh/s my october batch was 19.3
AppleMiner · Tue Nov 07, 2017 06:07 PM UTC · #46098
the D3s came with stock DEFAULT settings
AppleMiner · Tue Nov 07, 2017 06:07 PM UTC · #46099
im guessing each batch's DEFUALT setitng was tuned up more clocks
Paul_sq · Tue Nov 07, 2017 06:08 PM UTC · #46101
to stop people thinking they had bought a heater,it didn’t work
AppleMiner · Tue Nov 07, 2017 06:08 PM UTC · #46102
ok so if the 19 is 1150, then the apw3+ works, just taxed at over 90%
AppleMiner · Tue Nov 07, 2017 06:08 PM UTC · #46103
id rather not run a PS 95% load 24-7 forever
AppleMiner · Tue Nov 07, 2017 06:08 PM UTC · #46104
if it was on 220 not as bad a load
Paul_sq · Tue Nov 07, 2017 06:09 PM UTC · #46105
its the apw3 which is 220v+ only
AppleMiner · Tue Nov 07, 2017 06:09 PM UTC · #46107
at 110 it can only spit out 1200, at 220 it can go up to 1600
Paul_sq · Tue Nov 07, 2017 06:09 PM UTC · #46109
that’s right over 205v they switch to 220v+
AppleMiner · Tue Nov 07, 2017 06:10 PM UTC · #46111
no it says it cannot be turned on with less than 105 volts
Paul_sq · Tue Nov 07, 2017 06:10 PM UTC · #46112
it’s a noisy peice of crap but it seems to work
AppleMiner · Tue Nov 07, 2017 06:10 PM UTC · #46113
110 > 105 so it works but only up to 1200
miles888 · Tue Nov 07, 2017 06:11 PM UTC · #46115
Well I hope my 3++ works well. Haven’t had any issues with some thermaltake 1050
AppleMiner · Tue Nov 07, 2017 06:11 PM UTC · #46116
trust me, ive tested all my miners on 110 with the same powers
AppleMiner · Tue Nov 07, 2017 06:11 PM UTC · #46118
I took down tot he shop then plugged the 220 cords in and into the sockets
AppleMiner · Tue Nov 07, 2017 06:11 PM UTC · #46120
didnt change the powers or flip any switches
Paul_sq · Tue Nov 07, 2017 06:11 PM UTC · #46121
my apw3’s dont’t even start up on 110v the apw3++ did
AppleMiner · Tue Nov 07, 2017 06:11 PM UTC · #46122
the same apw3+ on 220 worked fine on 110 to power and run L3+s at 800 watts
Paul_sq · Tue Nov 07, 2017 06:12 PM UTC · #46123
yer this is the old old one
Paul_sq · Tue Nov 07, 2017 06:12 PM UTC · #46128
maybe yer it’s an old bugger of a psu
miles888 · Tue Nov 07, 2017 06:13 PM UTC · #46129
3 3+ and 3++ different voltage usages and amount of 6pin cables I think
Paul_sq · Tue Nov 07, 2017 06:13 PM UTC · #46130
i had the apw3++ lovely and quiet and worked great on 110v,sadly I sold it with miner
AppleMiner · Tue Nov 07, 2017 06:14 PM UTC · #46131
i just got apw3+ and apw5+ for the D3s
Paul_sq · Tue Nov 07, 2017 06:14 PM UTC · #46132
the different cables was the apw3++ $115 version instead of the $105
Paul_sq · Tue Nov 07, 2017 06:14 PM UTC · #46133
they were both called apw3++
Paul_sq · Tue Nov 07, 2017 06:14 PM UTC · #46134
just to add confusion. they were supposed to run 2 x l3+’s
AppleMiner · Tue Nov 07, 2017 06:15 PM UTC · #46135
ok there was one called apw3++ that was 250 and had enough cords to run 2 L3+s
AppleMiner · Tue Nov 07, 2017 06:15 PM UTC · #46136
they had a batch in between with enough to do it, and then the next batch, was called the SAME apw3++ and couldnt
AppleMiner · Tue Nov 07, 2017 06:15 PM UTC · #46137
and ppl got hacked off buying 2nd batch thinking it would run 2 also, but it was half the price of the one that could run 2, so they had to have known
AppleMiner · Tue Nov 07, 2017 06:16 PM UTC · #46138
but the bitch was...people only ordered half as many as they needed
AppleMiner · Tue Nov 07, 2017 06:16 PM UTC · #46139
OR..worse case, they ended up running 2 miners off 1 power using half as many cords, damaged the boards running so much power over just 1 PCI-E port, and now they are selling that miner on Ebay...to you!
Paul_sq · Tue Nov 07, 2017 06:16 PM UTC · #46140
Haha, that’s bitmain all over. Have you seen their new AI tweet?
AppleMiner · Tue Nov 07, 2017 06:17 PM UTC · #46141
no i try not to log into the miners as much as I can
AppleMiner · Tue Nov 07, 2017 06:18 PM UTC · #46142
so a new pretty Ui wont thrill me, more effeciency would
Paul_sq · Tue Nov 07, 2017 06:19 PM UTC · #46145
Do you think there will be new miners in new year? I think they have different new year anyway so shouldn’t make too much difference
AppleMiner · Tue Nov 07, 2017 06:20 PM UTC · #46146
i think the whole industry is waiting to see waht the japanese pull out
AppleMiner · Tue Nov 07, 2017 06:22 PM UTC · #46148
if they do a 7nm miner chip, would be 2X faster, possibly more energy effeic. and prolly the same price point
