Probably should do some research on mining and how price/difficulty/hashrate affects profitability. There’s no easy answer of which coin is most profitable. The profitability goes up and down constantly (you can get an idea of what I mean by looking at the bottom of the Prohashing site where the coin profitability is shown for each coin. Pools like actually intensify this effect by pointing large amounts of hashpower at individual coins at times when they are most profitable (difficulty is low, price is high, network hashrate is down, etc). When that happens, the coin that is being mined will adjust it’s difficulty level to meet the amount of hashpower that is being pointed at it. This is fundamentally how the difficulty is adjusted for all coins (some adjust much more quickly than others though, so keep that in mind). So you can’t just say X is the most profitable coin, it just doesn’t work like that anymore.

Does Prohashing penalize more for stale/rejected shares than they should? Seems I point my miner to NH and I get a full 650 hash credit for it, but on here with rejected rates low and no errors it still is only at 530?

AppleMiner · · #41791

does it matter if NH is paying less if they are crediting me with an extra 100 + hash per day?

ajpyoung · · #41792

Congratulations to Prohashing for being one of the pools of Hashflare.io (online mining site)

AppleMiner · · #41793

congratz

AppleMiner · · #41794

still not going to follow that link 8)

AppleMiner · · #41795

is scrypt.usa.nicehash.com down?

AppleMiner · · #41796

its been showing dead for me for the past day now

AppleMiner · · #41797

yeah nicehash gives me the full power I direct there, and PH is down 10% eff and not reporting 100 hash. Sorry losing to omuch money until problems get fixed here.

Goldberg57 · · #41798

had some problems recently on nicehash as well

Goldberg57 · · #41799

both l3+ was disconnected

Goldberg57 · · #41800

and balance was wrong

AppleMiner · · #41801

cant connect to there for crap right now

Goldberg57 · · #41802

now it´s fine again

AppleMiner · · #41803

well if the miners arent there the balance owuld be offI havenyt seen USA site as up in a day now

Goldberg57 · · #41804

BTW I connected l3+ now to second router but I can´t connect to antminer interface

AppleMiner · · #41805

stratum+tcp://scrypt.usa.nicehash.com:3333 still dead to me

Goldberg57 · · #41806

sry I´m using EU

AppleMiner · · #41807

im gonna pop brazil TTL seems ok

AppleMiner · · #41808

at least see if its up

AppleMiner · · #41809

losing too much here between not reporting what i have on the site, I waited after a resrt for 5 hours hoping after 2 it would report what i was using

AppleMiner · · #41810

but i dont know if its stales, or the effeincey of the pool or what

AppleMiner · · #41811

but NH records the whole amount I send them to hash with and I get paid for all of it

AppleMiner · · #41812

so profits may be better on PH but Id really rather get paid for the work the miners are doing.

AppleMiner · · #41813

i get 1 reject for 5 hours, but because i got it in the first 5 mins, the next 5 hours the miner is now reporting 100 less hash for the WHOLE 5 hours, because of 1 rejected shale in the first 5 mins? Really?

AppleMiner · · #41814

something isnt recalculating or updating like it should

AppleMiner · · #41815

people connecting in at 700 on a L3+ are getting credit for all 700 all day and it never updates.

AppleMiner · · #41816

is the password for workers on NH x or blank?

AppleMiner · · #41817

well EU works but both BR and USA seem to be down

Maxiimos · · #41818

these stale shares are killing me

AppleMiner · · #41819

why im pulling up my stakes and pitching my tent elsewhere for now

Maxiimos · · #41820

I guess it’s a system failure?

AppleMiner · · #41821

i dont rent space here, im a nomad i go where the profits take me.

AppleMiner · · #41822

no clue, with this many people maybe just taxing the system

AppleMiner · · #41823

too many workers asking for coins too fast, coin switcher cant keep up?

AppleMiner · · #41824

so lag = stales

AppleMiner · · #41825

aircoin been payout eligible for 3 days plus now, not moved.

AppleMiner · · #41826

I dont see us getting paid credits for low effiecny or stale rates. Hope it gets better, Ill check back tomorrow, laters all.

megaquake · · #41827

88.89% efficiency and thats just an average, this should be fixed, I have never seen such low efficiency anywhere else that is constant

mycide · · #41828

not getting enough shares atm? and hashrate is off by 40%

mycide · · #41829

weird dip there, pool started reporting low hashrate. back to normal again, and machines never actually dipped. eff is at 95%

mickeekung · · #41830

Look like all users is having the performance issue right now.

ZiGen · · #41831

Pool was obviously rebooted like around 9 - o’clock ...all my miners swithched to backup pool for less tahn an hour ...

ZiGen · · #41832

than

dalu · · #41833

I notice the pool reboot too

ZiGen · · #41834

my first share time is like 1:16 hour and 16 min ...on ALL my miners ...when they REconnected ...down was 20-30 minute before that

solidnetmoney · · #41835

hello everyone, I am new here. I am configuring my L3+ on prohashing. For Pool 1: I enter Url: stratum+tcp://prohashing.com:3333, then enter worker name and password as shown on the website. However, I want to know if I Should repeat the same setup or configuration on Pool 2, and pool 3? Please help me complete this process, and Thanks a lot guys!

dalu · · #41836

@solidnetmoney :  no, you should enter a different pool, the 2nd and 3rd pool act as a backup in case prohashing is down

solidnetmoney · · #41837

OK, thanks @dalu. Is my first pool configuration OK if I set it up like that? Pool 1 example:stratum+tcp://prohashing.com:3333 solidnetmoney n=sm_30 (Again, this is an example)

solidnetmoney · · #41838

dalu, I sent you a private message. Please check!

dalu · · #41839

@solidnetmoney :  yes, it looked good. you are using dynamic difficulty without using the d= parameter

dalu · · #41840

@solidnetmoney :  Sorry, you don’t need the "stratum+tcp://" for prohashing

dalu · · #41841

you can simply put "prohashing.com:3333" on the URL field

solidnetmoney · · #41842

which is better? That’s because i am new. I just want the best setup possible.

solidnetmoney · · #41843

ok, changing it now. Can we please continue on private chat for faster reply?

dalu · · #41844

@solidnetmoney :  the default without d= works for many people, with d= parameter the miner works more stable

AppleMiner · · #41845

do you get paid for stable or for profits?

solidnetmoney · · #41846

I don’t know what stable or profits is.. I am a newbie

AppleMiner · · #41847

was asking dalu more, welcome aboard Solid

dalu · · #41848

@AppleMiner : </strong> by stable I mean the miner does less restart

AppleMiner · · #41849

it restarts?

AppleMiner · · #41850

mine been up for 5 days now no restarts

solidnetmoney · · #41851

ok, so for example my first pool 1 should be: prohashing.com:3333 Worker: solidnetmoney Password: n=sm_30

AppleMiner · · #41852

i might skip the _ and just do SM30

AppleMiner · · #41853

but yep

solidnetmoney · · #41854

ok

AppleMiner · · #41855

underscore may work today, may be illegal tomorrow, id not chance it

dalu · · #41856

@AppleMiner : </strong> pool server directed restart to adjust difficulty settings, not the restart you see on the miner console

solidnetmoney · · #41857

changing password now won’t affect my earnings or L3+ ?

AppleMiner · · #41858

it will just restart the miner

AppleMiner · · #41859

with the new settings

AppleMiner · · #41860

will take a minute, so you wont be mining, so YES it will affect your earnings, you may miss out on 3 cents while it restarts

AppleMiner · · #41861

just dont restart it every minute or you will never connect long enough to mine and you will be fine.

dalu · · #41862

from help page: the difficult setting "The inclusion or omission of the static difficulty d argument does not affect profitability for difficult coin networks."

AppleMiner · · #41863

Dalu im at 1 s restart penalty. does setting a static make that any less?

solidnetmoney · · #41864

ohhhh wow. thanks a lot guys. By restarting you mean: Click the SAVE & Apply button ?

AppleMiner · · #41865

yes and that restarts the miner with the new settings, checks for pools to connect to

AppleMiner · · #41866

and will see the alive ones and connect to them from 1 to 3 in order

dalu · · #41867

@AppleMiner : </strong> I have not seen the 1 s penalty change, it always that way

AppleMiner · · #41868

so what are pool directed restarts and how are the different from using or not using a D= setting?

dalu · · #41869

@solidnetmoney :  yes, every time you save and apply, it restart the miner

solidnetmoney · · #41870

i will stop doing that. what about checking the miner configuration and miner status tab from time to time? does that restart the miner also?

AppleMiner · · #41871

nope only changing the pools info, changing the clock cycles, or flashing firmware/reboot/unplugging it

solidnetmoney · · #41872

I often click on these tabs to see if everything is OK, shouldn’t I do that?

AppleMiner · · #41873

all the rest of the tabs are fine to look at and refresh

dalu · · #41874

@AppleMiner : </strong> miner has its own difficulty settings, every time, the pool needs to assign a different difficulty to your miner, it restart

AppleMiner · · #41875

anyplace you see an APPLY, will usually restart the miner service.

solidnetmoney · · #41876

you guys are amazing. I should have come to this chat the first day. Instead I watched Youtube videos without much Professional help

AppleMiner · · #41877

you have to...actually CLICK the apply for it to restart

AppleMiner · · #41878

to be clear seeing a page with it on there wont restart the miner, sorry if there was any confusions.

dalu · · #41879

you can see your "Worker restart delay" on your prohashing worker page

solidnetmoney · · #41880

ok, i got it now. what mining pool you recommend for pool 1 and 2 guys?

AppleMiner · · #41881

thats up to you to decide solid 8)

AppleMiner · · #41882

but I do like litecoinpool for #3

dalu · · #41883

@solidnetmoney :  I use nicehash for 2nd, and granatgas-pool.info for 3rd

AppleMiner · · #41884

i dont think ive ever seenit not up

solidnetmoney · · #41885

but when I go on litecoinpool it is not showing as active. regardless if I put it on pool 2 or 3. I was thinking it must be on pool 1 for it to work

AppleMiner · · #41886

so with a d= setting whats your worker restart delays down to?

AppleMiner · · #41887

does it stay at 1?

dalu · · #41888

my ’worker restart delay’ is all over the place
