right now i only have the L3+ mining without any flags except n=
hashingpro · Sat Sep 23, 2017 09:54 PM UTC · #30416
I static mined a solo coin all day and made 30-35% more than the auto pool predicted and 50% more than I made becuase the payouts were off.
tomos81 · Sat Sep 23, 2017 09:55 PM UTC · #30417
@Steve - it looks like, today the solo mining giving rewards only for Unitus, yesterday it rewraded for Dashs too, that’s the difference in comparation with yesterday :
https://ibb.co/by9eeQ hashingpro · Sat Sep 23, 2017 09:55 PM UTC · #30418
it shouldnt be....but take 4 miners and try it each way, after a day swap the miners and try it the other way, if solo ISNT supposed to be making more its funny it sure is.

tomos81 · Sat Sep 23, 2017 09:56 PM UTC · #30420
i am solo mining Dash with d=32 n=.... a=x11
Steve Sokolowski · Sat Sep 23, 2017 09:56 PM UTC · #30421
I’m also not seeing a widespread stale shares problem either
cryptogain · Sat Sep 23, 2017 09:56 PM UTC · #30422
OK thank you for your advice
hashingpro · Sat Sep 23, 2017 09:56 PM UTC · #30423
so any issues back from 130 am til 6 am?
hashingpro · Sat Sep 23, 2017 09:57 PM UTC · #30424
when the hashrate history says I was only pushing 190 MH instead of the same 1GH i been doing all day?
hashingpro · Sat Sep 23, 2017 09:58 PM UTC · #30425
6 hours of only being recorded for 80% of the hash being applied to the pool kinda sucks
Steve Sokolowski · Sat Sep 23, 2017 09:59 PM UTC · #30426
I’m going to do a test period of mining
Steve Sokolowski · Sat Sep 23, 2017 10:00 PM UTC · #30427
but we haven’t seen anything like what you’re reporting
hashingpro · Sat Sep 23, 2017 10:00 PM UTC · #30428
scroll back down, there were 10 ppl talking about it all with the same issue
hashingpro · Sat Sep 23, 2017 10:00 PM UTC · #30429
the system locked up and was an hour behind reporting sometime after midnight and was delaying behind reporting anything
hashingpro · Sat Sep 23, 2017 10:01 PM UTC · #30430
and the 10 ppl were all talking how none of them had anything close to reported shares or hashrates being recorded for the work they were doing on the pool
hashingpro · Sat Sep 23, 2017 10:01 PM UTC · #30431
wish the chat had a further history buffer, this was back from 1-6 am this morning
hashingpro · Sat Sep 23, 2017 10:02 PM UTC · #30432
anyway to make a POLL on the forums? ask how many auto switch miners have gotten close to the expected payouts?
tomos81 · Sat Sep 23, 2017 10:03 PM UTC · #30433
for example bitconnectcoin solo (scrypt) giving 0 reward for shares:
https://ibb.co/exUqm5 hashingpro · Sat Sep 23, 2017 10:03 PM UTC · #30434
i would think expected would mean that most of the people on average would fall close to that mark
hashingpro · Sat Sep 23, 2017 10:03 PM UTC · #30435
if X is expected and 80 percent of the people arent hitting it, how accurate is that expected then?

tomos81 wrote: for example bitconnectcoin solo (scrypt) giving 0 reward for shares: https://ibb.co/exUqm5 it should not give any reward if you’re solo mining
Steve Sokolowski · Sat Sep 23, 2017 10:06 PM UTC · #30438
you only earn rewards when you find blocks
Steve Sokolowski · Sat Sep 23, 2017 10:07 PM UTC · #30439
and if you have g=off, then you probably won’t even earn merge mined rewards most of the time
centar · Sat Sep 23, 2017 10:07 PM UTC · #30440
shouldn’t you get rewards for merge mining?
tomos81 · Sat Sep 23, 2017 10:07 PM UTC · #30441
@Steve Sokolowski : 18 hours before it gave me at least something... but x11 Dash solo mining giving something (but 10k times less than yesterday).. yes i know solo mining is a lottery, i am not complaining, just telling, something has changed
Steve Sokolowski · Sat Sep 23, 2017 10:08 PM UTC · #30444
there might be a network conditions change
centar · Sat Sep 23, 2017 10:08 PM UTC · #30445
would a bandwidth issue cause lost shares and such?
centar · Sat Sep 23, 2017 10:09 PM UTC · #30446
seems like with so many users affected there should be some obvious anomaly.
Steve Sokolowski · Sat Sep 23, 2017 10:09 PM UTC · #30447
centar wrote: would a bandwidth issue cause lost shares and such? I doubt it, but there is no bandwidth issue
GregoryGHarding · Sat Sep 23, 2017 10:11 PM UTC · #30449
steve im reporting no hashrate or share issues around midnight lastnight, for scrypt anyway
Steve Sokolowski · Sat Sep 23, 2017 10:12 PM UTC · #30450
need to restart because we made a mistake and included too much logging
Steve Sokolowski · Sat Sep 23, 2017 10:13 PM UTC · #30452
I want to include as many fixes as possible
hashingpro · Sat Sep 23, 2017 10:13 PM UTC · #30453
Greg how was your hashrate history recording from 1 to 6 am this morning? all recording fine?
hashingpro · Sat Sep 23, 2017 10:13 PM UTC · #30455
or off like 50 % of your hashrate?
bluelemonadecrypto · Sat Sep 23, 2017 10:14 PM UTC · #30457
hashingpro wrote: totally not true correct - wile I was here I tried this and worked out the most profitable arrangement and if you do it right auto pool is not the most profitble
bluelemonadecrypto · Sat Sep 23, 2017 10:14 PM UTC · #30459
and as I have said the before the coin switching is not optimum here
bluelemonadecrypto · Sat Sep 23, 2017 10:14 PM UTC · #30461
it treats the problem as open loop and it is not
bluelemonadecrypto · Sat Sep 23, 2017 10:14 PM UTC · #30462
as closed loop feedback cntrol sysems specialist the problem stands out like dogs balls
hashingpro · Sat Sep 23, 2017 10:15 PM UTC · #30463
funny that last night so many people were in here talking about it
Steve Sokolowski · Sat Sep 23, 2017 10:15 PM UTC · #30464
what’s the most profitable arrangement, then?
bluelemonadecrypto · Sat Sep 23, 2017 10:16 PM UTC · #30465
i was sleeping, getting ready for my 4am alarm
Steve Sokolowski · Sat Sep 23, 2017 10:16 PM UTC · #30466
I know that we had to weaken the automatic switching algorithm due to CPU usage
Steve Sokolowski · Sat Sep 23, 2017 10:16 PM UTC · #30467
well, I can only investigate one issue at a time
bluelemonadecrypto · Sat Sep 23, 2017 10:16 PM UTC · #30468
There is a better way of doing it, but why should I tell you and everybody else?
Steve Sokolowski · Sat Sep 23, 2017 10:16 PM UTC · #30469
so the first thing I’m going to investigate is the people who are saying that individual shares are not adding up
Steve Sokolowski · Sat Sep 23, 2017 10:17 PM UTC · #30470
I’m going to spend a few hours proving that shares add up to the promised payouts
bluelemonadecrypto · Sat Sep 23, 2017 10:17 PM UTC · #30471
and to be honest, anyone with my background and decnet experience could work it out if they wanted to spend the time
Steve Sokolowski · Sat Sep 23, 2017 10:17 PM UTC · #30473
and you’re right that it’s about time
Steve Sokolowski · Sat Sep 23, 2017 10:17 PM UTC · #30474
we don’t have enough time now because we can’t devote more until the lawyer replies
bluelemonadecrypto · Sat Sep 23, 2017 10:17 PM UTC · #30475
but if you were to study closed loop feedback, eg P+ID controllers for a while would see it
bluelemonadecrypto · Sat Sep 23, 2017 10:18 PM UTC · #30477
and your clue is you can’t have something stable when you have an integrating controller controlling an integrating process
bluelemonadecrypto · Sat Sep 23, 2017 10:19 PM UTC · #30478
and without stability you will never be optimum, first rrule of closed loop control
bluelemonadecrypto · Sat Sep 23, 2017 10:19 PM UTC · #30482
I spent two weeks watching every block solved here to 12 hours a day (had two weeks off work as I work 2+2)
bluelemonadecrypto · Sat Sep 23, 2017 10:20 PM UTC · #30483
well if you are not sure what I am saying that is why you think your current arrangement is optimum but it is far from itand the selfish mining approach causes way to many orphans to be worth it
hashingpro · Sat Sep 23, 2017 10:21 PM UTC · #30484
maybe someone can confirm for me and I am looking at this all wrong.
Steve Sokolowski · Sat Sep 23, 2017 10:21 PM UTC · #30485
I know the current algorithm is not optimum
bluelemonadecrypto · Sat Sep 23, 2017 10:21 PM UTC · #30487
and just paints a target on you for DDOS attacks, because to DDOS you at the right time could be highly profitable for others who are competing to publish the other side of the soft fork in compettition
Steve Sokolowski · Sat Sep 23, 2017 10:21 PM UTC · #30488
we weakened it on purpose because the optimum algorithm can’t be run singlethreaded anymore
cryptogain · Sat Sep 23, 2017 10:22 PM UTC · #30489
I’m running right now two L3+ on pool, should I go better for solo mining ?
Steve Sokolowski · Sat Sep 23, 2017 10:22 PM UTC · #30490
well, DDoS attacks haven’t been an issue recently, fortunately
bluelemonadecrypto · Sat Sep 23, 2017 10:22 PM UTC · #30491
in the long run it is really not good for pH and not good for the community
bluelemonadecrypto · Sat Sep 23, 2017 10:22 PM UTC · #30492
all I said it makes you a target, for the reason I stated
Steve Sokolowski · Sat Sep 23, 2017 10:23 PM UTC · #30493
the selfish mining algorithm includes all transactions in the previous block, so transactions are never reversed
hashingpro · Sat Sep 23, 2017 10:23 PM UTC · #30494
think them taking out the head of the snake with the nova api did the trick there all around
bluelemonadecrypto · Sat Sep 23, 2017 10:23 PM UTC · #30495
so why did I solve 10 blocks in a row that got orphaned when I solo mined here
Steve Sokolowski · Sat Sep 23, 2017 10:23 PM UTC · #30496
I doubt the novaexchange API had anything to do with us
bluelemonadecrypto · Sat Sep 23, 2017 10:23 PM UTC · #30497
and that was the extreme case, many others, but ten was the max
bluelemonadecrypto · Sat Sep 23, 2017 10:24 PM UTC · #30499
and I never got the 10 times for the next block the help page promises
Steve Sokolowski · Sat Sep 23, 2017 10:24 PM UTC · #30500
there’s a bug that is causing miners to get stuck on stale blocks
bluelemonadecrypto · Sat Sep 23, 2017 10:24 PM UTC · #30502
you admit to using a selfish mining technique on your help page, so how is that not creating soft forks?
hashingpro · Sat Sep 23, 2017 10:25 PM UTC · #30503
so while we are stuck on stale blocks...like from 1 til 6 am, are we not being creditied with the work we are doing that entire time?
Steve Sokolowski · Sat Sep 23, 2017 10:25 PM UTC · #30505
let me run a query on that, give me a second
Steve Sokolowski · Sat Sep 23, 2017 10:25 PM UTC · #30506
the number of selfish blocks was 0.02%
Steve Sokolowski · Sat Sep 23, 2017 10:26 PM UTC · #30507
I think you miss that users never see any difference
bluelemonadecrypto · Sat Sep 23, 2017 10:26 PM UTC · #30509
so why is your orphan rate orders of magnitudes higher than other pools?
centar · Sat Sep 23, 2017 10:26 PM UTC · #30510
hashingpro wrote: so while we are stuck on stale blocks...like from 1 til 6 am, are we not being creditied with the work we are doing that entire time? I don’t think we were
centar · Sat Sep 23, 2017 10:26 PM UTC · #30512
anyone know of a similar site that allows the same kind of solo mining option where we could compare performance?
