yeah its an oxymoron from an oxymoron.
dsldsl999 · Tue Sep 19, 2017 10:28 PM UTC · #28511
so this 5% fee is deducted when?
hashingpro · Tue Sep 19, 2017 10:28 PM UTC · #28512
unless it was Mr. Frees and he was serving life in prison and I wanted him freed.
GregoryGHarding · Tue Sep 19, 2017 10:28 PM UTC · #28513
@dsldsl999 : long before you see your balance
hashingpro · Tue Sep 19, 2017 10:29 PM UTC · #28514
which is something lots dont consider on nicehash. their fees are taken AFTER you have the profit in hand.
macsheadroom · Tue Sep 19, 2017 10:30 PM UTC · #28515
Socket connect failed: Connection refused on L3+. Any idea whats wrong?
bluelemonadecrypto · Tue Sep 19, 2017 10:30 PM UTC · #28516
so back to overclocking, had a visitor to my desk at work to do some real work
hashingpro · Tue Sep 19, 2017 10:31 PM UTC · #28518
that job would be great if not for all the people.
bluelemonadecrypto · Tue Sep 19, 2017 10:31 PM UTC · #28521
I have one L3+ I can safely overclock at 20% over, but to be conservative I leave it at 12%
bluelemonadecrypto · Tue Sep 19, 2017 10:31 PM UTC · #28522
antoher one can’t safely take past 5% over
bluelemonadecrypto · Tue Sep 19, 2017 10:32 PM UTC · #28523
so depending how long you think your L3+ is going to be anything other than a boat anchor
hashingpro · Tue Sep 19, 2017 10:32 PM UTC · #28524
i did read an article guy was saying he hit 440 stable on his machine no issues
dsldsl999 · Tue Sep 19, 2017 10:32 PM UTC · #28525
it is just like the memory overclocking on GPU
bluelemonadecrypto · Tue Sep 19, 2017 10:32 PM UTC · #28526
then overclocking the right amount is highly prudent
hashingpro · Tue Sep 19, 2017 10:32 PM UTC · #28527
so another guy said worked for him ill try it, and less than 2 days he had a toaster.
hashingpro · Tue Sep 19, 2017 10:33 PM UTC · #28529
have to test each machine seperatly, cant find 1 setting on the first and just apply to all
hashingpro · Tue Sep 19, 2017 10:33 PM UTC · #28531
lots of factors, your cooling, does that fluctuate, are you running in a garage that gets hot during the day? maybe DONT OC in the middle of the night and find GOOD night time temps.
bluelemonadecrypto · Tue Sep 19, 2017 10:34 PM UTC · #28532
as I said, go up a notch at a time until a non linear rise in temp is observed and then go down one or two notches and watch over course of a day and if stable leave it there
dsldsl999 · Tue Sep 19, 2017 10:34 PM UTC · #28533
that’s why i can’t be bothered, finding the right sweet spot for each machine takes a lot of experiments.
bluelemonadecrypto · Tue Sep 19, 2017 10:35 PM UTC · #28534
I can gaurantee that bitmain are conservative on the shipped clock settings
bluelemonadecrypto · Tue Sep 19, 2017 10:35 PM UTC · #28535
it will be lowest comman denominator
dsldsl999 · Tue Sep 19, 2017 10:35 PM UTC · #28536
well in theory they have to be otherwise the failure rate will be high
bluelemonadecrypto · Tue Sep 19, 2017 10:36 PM UTC · #28537
my experiments indicate around 7-10% extra is possible on average, makes a difference
hashingpro · Tue Sep 19, 2017 10:36 PM UTC · #28538
i think it depends on volume and ROI.
hashingpro · Tue Sep 19, 2017 10:37 PM UTC · #28539
if oyu have 100, and you make extra 2 bucks each...200 / 2000 you could aford to pop one in a month or 2 and its replacable every 10 days.
hashingpro · Tue Sep 19, 2017 10:37 PM UTC · #28540
but if you have 1, and your making an extra 2 bucks a day. and it takes you 500 days to replace
dsldsl999 · Tue Sep 19, 2017 10:38 PM UTC · #28541
i’m surprised no youtube video on extreme overclocking L3 yet using liquid or nitrogen cooling or something
hashingpro · Tue Sep 19, 2017 10:39 PM UTC · #28542
thought i saw one in mineral oil submersion
hashingpro · Tue Sep 19, 2017 10:39 PM UTC · #28543
they took all the hashboards out and layed them in the bottom of a tank and filled it some to cover
hashingpro · Tue Sep 19, 2017 10:40 PM UTC · #28544
may not have been a L3 maybe a s9 or something earlier
dsldsl999 · Tue Sep 19, 2017 10:40 PM UTC · #28545
i’ve seen one i think some S5 or S7 in mineral oil
dsldsl999 · Tue Sep 19, 2017 10:40 PM UTC · #28546
but the better version is the immersion cooling using 3M liquid
hashingpro · Tue Sep 19, 2017 10:41 PM UTC · #28547
the secret we cant tell you what this liquid is one?
hashingpro · Tue Sep 19, 2017 10:41 PM UTC · #28548
the pi vs pc in a fridge one was cool
hashingpro · Tue Sep 19, 2017 10:42 PM UTC · #28549
why you cant run a PC in a firdge and just have it work without overheating
dsldsl999 · Tue Sep 19, 2017 10:43 PM UTC · #28550
dun think i’ve seen that one
hashingpro · Tue Sep 19, 2017 10:44 PM UTC · #28551
there are 2 guys that do things with PCs and poke holes in some myths about PCs
hashingpro · Tue Sep 19, 2017 10:46 PM UTC · #28554
yeah and him and his buddy dig up some science on why things do or dont work
hashingpro · Tue Sep 19, 2017 10:46 PM UTC · #28555
so its not just we did it, its we did it these are the laws that make it happen like that.
dsldsl999 · Tue Sep 19, 2017 10:51 PM UTC · #28557
How do u guys managed the heat from the Antminer?
bluelemonadecrypto · Tue Sep 19, 2017 10:53 PM UTC · #28559
summer approaches in Perth, some days 40DegC plus, going to be a problem, looking for managed hosting
dsldsl999 · Tue Sep 19, 2017 10:53 PM UTC · #28560
I guess a tent is the same theory as hot and cold aisle in datacentre
hashingpro · Tue Sep 19, 2017 10:54 PM UTC · #28563
i picked up a fumigation tent, pushed the rack right up to the side wall, cut holes in the tent, pushed the exit fans in through the wall so all the heat is blown into the sealed tent.
hashingpro · Tue Sep 19, 2017 10:54 PM UTC · #28564
then 10 inch semi rigid duct from the top of that to the ceiling, out the top exhasuet fan out the building
bluelemonadecrypto · Tue Sep 19, 2017 10:54 PM UTC · #28565
and then what, I don’t understand how the tent helps?
hashingpro · Tue Sep 19, 2017 10:55 PM UTC · #28567
the tent is a vaccuum chamber
hashingpro · Tue Sep 19, 2017 10:55 PM UTC · #28568
sucks the hot air inside up and out
hashingpro · Tue Sep 19, 2017 10:55 PM UTC · #28570
technically, i could put 3 more racks, 1 on each side all the way around the tent
dsldsl999 · Tue Sep 19, 2017 10:55 PM UTC · #28571
i planned to do something similar
hashingpro · Tue Sep 19, 2017 10:55 PM UTC · #28572
might need an extra fan up top to suck some more with more blowing in
bluelemonadecrypto · Tue Sep 19, 2017 10:56 PM UTC · #28573
managed hosting is attractive, clean air, cool they get a better power price, so hoping to get somewhere for basically cost of power
dsldsl999 · Tue Sep 19, 2017 10:56 PM UTC · #28576
i already email some colocation service in iceland
hashingpro · Tue Sep 19, 2017 10:56 PM UTC · #28577
if you can keep access to the miners
hashingpro · Tue Sep 19, 2017 10:56 PM UTC · #28579
they are out for the weekend, they wont be able to change your settings until monday...wah wah
bluelemonadecrypto · Tue Sep 19, 2017 10:57 PM UTC · #28586
not bad, set up remote access via an NUC or Pi and ship it with it
bluelemonadecrypto · Tue Sep 19, 2017 10:58 PM UTC · #28588
so 90 plus power, or 90 estimated all up?
dsldsl999 · Tue Sep 19, 2017 10:59 PM UTC · #28589
cost is 75 euros inclusive per kw per month so a L3 at 0.8KW x 75 will be 60 euros
dsldsl999 · Tue Sep 19, 2017 10:59 PM UTC · #28591
but minimum is 20KW per order
dsldsl999 · Tue Sep 19, 2017 11:00 PM UTC · #28595
well not too bad as I an make up the numbers with a friend
bluelemonadecrypto · Tue Sep 19, 2017 11:01 PM UTC · #28596
so I try a little cloud mining with nicehash, just for an experiment, and before I place my order miners running down to 0.0088, as soon as I put my put my order in no miners below 0.0126, they look pretty dodgy
hashingpro · Tue Sep 19, 2017 11:02 PM UTC · #28597
welcome to mining, if you dont like the prices, wait 5 mins, they will change. always do.
dsldsl999 · Tue Sep 19, 2017 11:02 PM UTC · #28598
well they are here to make money
bluelemonadecrypto · Tue Sep 19, 2017 11:03 PM UTC · #28599
hashpower being a fungible item that is effectively untraceable and difficult to ascertain quality, all buyers and sellers of hashpower are potentially to be suspected
hashingpro · Tue Sep 19, 2017 11:03 PM UTC · #28600
especially that BlueLemonadeCrypto guy!
bluelemonadecrypto · Tue Sep 19, 2017 11:03 PM UTC · #28601
third time I have tried and the prices move dramatically immediately my order is placed
bluelemonadecrypto · Tue Sep 19, 2017 11:04 PM UTC · #28602
my hash is as good as your hash....
bluelemonadecrypto · Tue Sep 19, 2017 11:04 PM UTC · #28604
anyway, I have an order in for hashing power, if it hits at some stage it will be profitable at current prices, got 10 days...
hashingpro · Tue Sep 19, 2017 11:04 PM UTC · #28605
im split half and half and I know 1 half is worse than the other..go figure
hashingpro · Tue Sep 19, 2017 11:06 PM UTC · #28607
i seperate some of my miners off to other places and settings to see whats what
hashingpro · Tue Sep 19, 2017 11:07 PM UTC · #28608
4 days on here I ran tests with miners and settings to test D= setting.
