but I am reading in todays update there might be connection issues
mmfiore · Fri Sep 01, 2017 04:44 PM UTC · #21261
I have been telling them that for days now. what the heck
galixxx · Fri Sep 01, 2017 04:44 PM UTC · #21262
micca410evo wrote: still the same issue? it says dead. would have to check the logs, but I am not familiar with that through baikal miner
Darklyspectre · Fri Sep 01, 2017 04:44 PM UTC · #21263
Can’t really say much without being able to actually see the miner
galixxx · Fri Sep 01, 2017 04:45 PM UTC · #21264
any limitation implemented in the past 3 weeks?

for two days I have been trying to connect with no luck now for some strange reason I am suddenly able to connect.
mmfiore · Fri Sep 01, 2017 04:45 PM UTC · #21268
for how long I do not know
micca410evo · Fri Sep 01, 2017 04:46 PM UTC · #21270
@galixxx, could you try to change your routers dns into google dns temporary?
mmfiore · Fri Sep 01, 2017 04:47 PM UTC · #21271
I have solved dns issues many times in my life. This issue for me was not a dns problem.
mmfiore · Fri Sep 01, 2017 04:48 PM UTC · #21273
usually if dns broken it just does not work until dns is resolved. It is not intermittant.
mmfiore · Fri Sep 01, 2017 04:49 PM UTC · #21274
sometimes i connect it runs for awhile then I lose connection and cant reconnect.
micca410evo · Fri Sep 01, 2017 04:50 PM UTC · #21275
i thought you said you couldn’t connect for a couple of days..
mmfiore · Fri Sep 01, 2017 04:50 PM UTC · #21276
this is the symptom o running out of connction capability on the server side.
micca410evo · Fri Sep 01, 2017 04:51 PM UTC · #21278
i guess you are wrong.. but it works again now? Since Steve said Chris couldn’t find any issues on their side
micca410evo · Fri Sep 01, 2017 04:51 PM UTC · #21279
The only issues i’ve seen after switching to a datacenter is DNS issues..
mmfiore · Fri Sep 01, 2017 04:51 PM UTC · #21280
essentially I can not connect a majority of the time. and when i do it dies not last long.
galixxx · Fri Sep 01, 2017 04:52 PM UTC · #21281
micca410evo wrote: @galixxx, could you try to change your routers dns into google dns temporary? changed the dns on router to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 restartet the miner but still DEAD
mmfiore · Fri Sep 01, 2017 04:53 PM UTC · #21282
since they could not find an issue does not mean there is not an issue.
micca410evo · Fri Sep 01, 2017 04:53 PM UTC · #21283
i’m not saying there isn’t an issue
mycide · Fri Sep 01, 2017 04:54 PM UTC · #21285
so my rigs are off the backup pool, my earning moved a little bit but still tells me no connected miners.
micca410evo · Fri Sep 01, 2017 04:54 PM UTC · #21286
@galixxx other pools are working fine?
mmfiore · Fri Sep 01, 2017 04:55 PM UTC · #21287
No attitude just explaining the facts. I could connect my miners to 3 other pools during this same time period. Which means that the problem is not on my side.
micca410evo · Fri Sep 01, 2017 04:56 PM UTC · #21288
Is your miners log giving any vital information?
galixxx · Fri Sep 01, 2017 04:56 PM UTC · #21290

I am not bashing just for the sake of bashing I just want to help to get it working again. I like the brothers and this pool. But the truth is there are a lot of problems with it ever since the ddos attacks. The pool reliability has been terrible since that time.
micca410evo · Fri Sep 01, 2017 04:59 PM UTC · #21294
Good, do you have any logs @mmfiore?
micca410evo · Fri Sep 01, 2017 04:59 PM UTC · #21295
What kind of a controller does your baikal have @galixx?
mmfiore · Fri Sep 01, 2017 05:00 PM UTC · #21296
now for some strange reason the hashing efficientcy is also high. down as low as 89 percent. When I am on NH its an astounding 99 percent. So maybe the mining software alsoneeds an update.
galixxx · Fri Sep 01, 2017 05:01 PM UTC · #21297
scripta is running i think. at least tihs is mentioned in my GUI. And Ubuntu 16.04.2 LTS
Damito · Fri Sep 01, 2017 05:03 PM UTC · #21300
anyone have suggestions on good (non-Bitmain) PSUs for L3+ / S9? Can’t get Bitmain units ’til November and need a few add’l PSUs in the interim (and would rather not pay $300 each on eBay).
micca410evo · Fri Sep 01, 2017 05:03 PM UTC · #21301
Well, get to NH if you think it is better.. If you followed the messages on the board you would know the brothers are working on performance and stability issues..
mmfiore · Fri Sep 01, 2017 05:03 PM UTC · #21302
I used to work as a trouble shooter at IBM and I am used doing analytic trouble shooting. I solved a lot of difficult technical problems so I know of what I speak.
micca410evo · Fri Sep 01, 2017 05:03 PM UTC · #21303
@Damito, build them yourself..
mmfiore · Fri Sep 01, 2017 05:05 PM UTC · #21305
My main mission is to get this pool working at top efficiency. Everybody wins if that happens.
Damito · Fri Sep 01, 2017 05:05 PM UTC · #21306
@micca410evo US; could pick up some server cores and build them but would rather get pre-built as I ship units + PSUs to colo.

mmfiore · Fri Sep 01, 2017 05:06 PM UTC · #21308
@damito I was going to say ebay but that does sound pricey
Damito · Fri Sep 01, 2017 05:08 PM UTC · #21309
@mmfiore yeah it’s not cheap. Looking at aftermarket units, seem to be a handful of decent ones out there.
mmfiore · Fri Sep 01, 2017 05:10 PM UTC · #21310
How many watts does the power supply need to be
Damito · Fri Sep 01, 2017 05:12 PM UTC · #21311
S9 consumes 1350w each.
mmfiore · Fri Sep 01, 2017 05:18 PM UTC · #21312
thats a toughy. lot of watts. the best bet is a server power supply
Damito · Fri Sep 01, 2017 05:29 PM UTC · #21313
oh absolutely. I’m looking at a pre-built from a little group up in Oregon that builds off of HP cores, solders everything together, looks real nice.
mmfiore · Fri Sep 01, 2017 05:36 PM UTC · #21314
Yes I bought a bunch of HPs real cheap and they work great. I got a special interface board with PCI cable connections. This system is so much better than buying atx power supplies that are used for PCs,
galixxx · Fri Sep 01, 2017 05:43 PM UTC · #21315
after a while the miner could connect. Seems I received a spot on prohashing. Still figuring out the logs...
mmfiore · Fri Sep 01, 2017 05:45 PM UTC · #21316
So far today I am running two machines for an hour now. keeping fingers crossed
galixxx · Fri Sep 01, 2017 05:49 PM UTC · #21317
anyone knows where the log files are stored on a baikal?
bronxnua · Fri Sep 01, 2017 05:49 PM UTC · #21318
my baikal was having trouble getting back on once I changed from solo to pgp
micca410evo · Fri Sep 01, 2017 05:59 PM UTC · #21319

removing my backup pool for the L3+ i get Socket connect failed: Connection refused
mycide · Fri Sep 01, 2017 06:54 PM UTC · #21322
cant seem to find any connection log for my L3+ but to me it just seems like i disconnected to change settings when i get back on im not let on the servers because its full?

well miners are finally on the pool, for no, no changes on my side at all. Now lets see how long they can stay on it.
mycide · Fri Sep 01, 2017 07:15 PM UTC · #21325
really, you tried actively, or it just went on after soem time?
hashingpro · Fri Sep 01, 2017 07:19 PM UTC · #21326
I didnt touch any settings, just went on to check modem and the miners were back up and hashing again
hashingpro · Fri Sep 01, 2017 07:20 PM UTC · #21327
for how long is anyones guess, they may have turned off a setting or filter for testing
hashingpro · Fri Sep 01, 2017 07:20 PM UTC · #21328
if they turn it back on i'll likely lose connection again
S3KshuN8 · Fri Sep 01, 2017 07:56 PM UTC · #21329
I may have been affected by the missing shares problem for the past 10 hours or so. Woke to find they are not appearing for stats.
pilottage · Fri Sep 01, 2017 08:18 PM UTC · #21330
kicked out ... could hash 20 minutes today.... nice update of the site... and bright future... I now agree with Steve.... tending to 0cent/ Mhs profits.... on my way to buy more trading bots for managing the shitties... see you....
mycide · Fri Sep 01, 2017 09:26 PM UTC · #21331
mine back on aswell now.. see how long it goes.
tabak6 · Fri Sep 01, 2017 09:36 PM UTC · #21333
It seems like it’s intended to get rid of site overloading
mycide · Fri Sep 01, 2017 09:52 PM UTC · #21334
yeah it’s like i restart my machines to change settings then im not allowed back on for unknown time
mycide · Fri Sep 01, 2017 09:53 PM UTC · #21335
like i would like to change one right now but im not sure i dare ^^
JKDReaper · Fri Sep 01, 2017 09:54 PM UTC · #21336
I kind of doubt its an intentional thing. Ive been disconnected a couple times myself but been able to reconnect.
mycide · Fri Sep 01, 2017 09:55 PM UTC · #21337
is all you hashrate histories correct, looking at mine, it seem to show about 25-40% lower then im actually hashing according to all miners 24/h average combined. graphics must be bugged, profits have not been as low as it should have i only had that hasrate, so just curious if everyone else show same difference
S3KshuN8 · Fri Sep 01, 2017 10:02 PM UTC · #21338
I’m not sure how often those statistics are being recomputed per user right now...
S3KshuN8 · Fri Sep 01, 2017 10:03 PM UTC · #21339
as long as they are right at the end of the day when coins are credited, I’ve got no complaints.
mycide · Fri Sep 01, 2017 10:18 PM UTC · #21340
for sure, got profited more then i would on static pool, so i m not complaining about profit, or payouts or any of that. Just frustrated when you see half a days profit go by because connection problems on server side
mycide · Fri Sep 01, 2017 10:20 PM UTC · #21341
the goldvein we are on is diminsihing fast, so every day gone is going to be a missed day, i dont dare to think were difficulty on ltc will be by end of year. 1 million incoming i feel
S3KshuN8 · Fri Sep 01, 2017 11:16 PM UTC · #21342
My miners are usually fine here, at least since the latest problem seem to have been resolved as far as I can tell.
