and have the controller swap where X points...either NH or PH to the rest of the miners on X follow to that place for best profits
hashingpro · Fri Sep 15, 2017 06:51 PM UTC · #25497
so you keep a connection live to each site

gestalt wrote: I wrote a program that compares NH, PH, and ZP over time based on the profitability number each reports. Lots of peaks on all, but NH seems to be a little more stable than PH and ZP and not dip as much. Doesnt have as high of peaks though either. It would just be nice to truncate the dips if they could point the hashing power to NH when those occur. That’s too much risk - NiceHash is an anonymous company that doesn’t publish who owns it

there is no accountability to keep them honest
hashingpro · Fri Sep 15, 2017 06:52 PM UTC · #25500
no even if they all had the same miner name, it would pop from 500 to 1000+hash, and would need to get a new diff or be reevaluated for a bigger data entry or would be stale all over
gestalt · Fri Sep 15, 2017 06:52 PM UTC · #25501
True, it may not be accurate data
hashingpro · Fri Sep 15, 2017 06:53 PM UTC · #25502
and last week before changes and the crash
hashingpro · Fri Sep 15, 2017 06:53 PM UTC · #25503
I compared 3 sites NH, PH, and LCT
gestalt · Fri Sep 15, 2017 06:54 PM UTC · #25504
Steve, do you know if you guys use off the shelf daemons for each coin or if it is a custom p2p solution?
hashingpro · Fri Sep 15, 2017 06:54 PM UTC · #25505
https://forums.prohashing.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=839&start=150
gestalt · Fri Sep 15, 2017 06:55 PM UTC · #25506
Just an idea to lower CPU usage, but if you have a custom p2p solution, you wouldn’t have to poll the daemon. You could use something like stratum or WAMP to notify when blocks arrive.
hashingpro · Fri Sep 15, 2017 06:55 PM UTC · #25507
Oh and steve if you follow that link, 3 posts down I gave you info for lawyer

Why didn’t prohashing support MonetaryUnit coin but instead Start coin?
GregoryGHarding · Fri Sep 15, 2017 07:03 PM UTC · #25510
MUE only switched algo a few months ago, theyve been working on stabalizing the pool within that time
Skarda · Fri Sep 15, 2017 07:04 PM UTC · #25511
If my workers are just stuck on "Bit Connection" Does that mean they are not doing anything. I have not seen any of the cool coins flashing around for a long time
GregoryGHarding · Fri Sep 15, 2017 07:06 PM UTC · #25512
if thats how you view it.. as "cool coins" this pool isnt for you
gestalt · Fri Sep 15, 2017 07:07 PM UTC · #25513
I don’t know about that... But you could always put a static coin that you like for a while.
portalindo · Fri Sep 15, 2017 07:15 PM UTC · #25514
weird, just checking my bcc wallet, payout is already there but my balance still no activity
Skarda · Fri Sep 15, 2017 07:16 PM UTC · #25515
Ha, be nice now. I was only referring to the idea that there seem to be no activity as all my workers simply say "bit connection" and dont change to anything else
gestalt · Fri Sep 15, 2017 07:18 PM UTC · #25516
I haven’t been on this pool very long, but it might be normal. Although, maybe check to make sure your work delay isn’t too high.
hashingpro · Fri Sep 15, 2017 07:40 PM UTC · #25517
so how did everyone survive the high tide market rush of the past day? and ready for the next wave?
hashingpro · Fri Sep 15, 2017 08:54 PM UTC · #25518
just waiting for the next crash after the rebound, for the rest who held off cause prices were too low to sell their stuff off today.
hashingpro · Fri Sep 15, 2017 09:10 PM UTC · #25519
houston...we have a problem..
hashingpro · Fri Sep 15, 2017 09:11 PM UTC · #25521
I blame Stugots for this crash, this was all his fault!
hashingpro · Fri Sep 15, 2017 09:13 PM UTC · #25523
what did you do Stu? What did you do STU!
hashingpro · Fri Sep 15, 2017 09:14 PM UTC · #25524
This crash was made possible by Stugots, the letter M and, by the number 3.
tomos81 · Fri Sep 15, 2017 09:18 PM UTC · #25525
server down, like the price of BTC
hashingpro · Fri Sep 15, 2017 09:21 PM UTC · #25526
if they are testing their auto restart measures for the mining service...I think its safe to say it failed.
zafar177 · Fri Sep 15, 2017 09:27 PM UTC · #25527
i’m new to mining, how beforeservers are back?
centar · Fri Sep 15, 2017 09:27 PM UTC · #25528

hashingpro · Fri Sep 15, 2017 09:28 PM UTC · #25529
wow this is just like in the summer when there is a brownout. All the neighbors come out on the porches to chat, until electric comes up then they all go inside to their own things.
centar · Fri Sep 15, 2017 09:28 PM UTC · #25530
I go to Lucy....she give me pussy...and five dolla goes away ♬
Conrad · Fri Sep 15, 2017 09:28 PM UTC · #25531
when i solo mine, it says I find blocks of different coins sometimes. Any reason why? I don’t get paid in other coins, but it pops up in my "blocks" found page
hashingpro · Fri Sep 15, 2017 09:30 PM UTC · #25533
Ohhh Ohhhh i bet the SSD drives came int he mail at 5 pm.
hashingpro · Fri Sep 15, 2017 09:30 PM UTC · #25534

centar · Fri Sep 15, 2017 09:31 PM UTC · #25536
any of you guys buy haspower from nicehash - is it profitable?
hashingpro · Fri Sep 15, 2017 09:31 PM UTC · #25537
sometimes sell hashing power to them
hashingpro · Fri Sep 15, 2017 09:32 PM UTC · #25540
in fact, with the server offline Im selling hashing power to them right now!
centar · Fri Sep 15, 2017 09:40 PM UTC · #25541
anyone know what happened here?
Conrad · Fri Sep 15, 2017 09:41 PM UTC · #25542

Gamboholic · Fri Sep 15, 2017 09:58 PM UTC · #25543
First day having miners pointed here... normal to be down?
Bitatlas · Fri Sep 15, 2017 10:00 PM UTC · #25544
not normal... should be up soon
hashingpro · Fri Sep 15, 2017 10:01 PM UTC · #25546
they were going to increase storage today by adding some more SSD drives
hashingpro · Fri Sep 15, 2017 10:02 PM UTC · #25547
thought they said it would take an hour to install and restart
tomos81 · Fri Sep 15, 2017 10:02 PM UTC · #25548
this "15 minutes server downtime is more than 55 minutes for now"
mmfiore · Fri Sep 15, 2017 10:16 PM UTC · #25550

tsims159 · Fri Sep 15, 2017 10:29 PM UTC · #25563
ok, can you help me get set up on another pool as my secondary?
hashingpro · Fri Sep 15, 2017 10:29 PM UTC · #25564
ts you put in the pool URL, your username spelled case-sentive when you made account and n=workername
halfdime · Fri Sep 15, 2017 10:29 PM UTC · #25566
whats up with this pool man
hashingpro · Fri Sep 15, 2017 10:30 PM UTC · #25568
betting the SSDs are copying info from the old HDDs very slowly?>
halfdime · Fri Sep 15, 2017 10:31 PM UTC · #25569
ph is always shitting on nh, but nh is at least reliable
hashingpro · Fri Sep 15, 2017 10:31 PM UTC · #25570
who knows how many TB of info they need to copy from slow spinning drives
dog1965 · Fri Sep 15, 2017 10:31 PM UTC · #25571
they should ge NVM-e pci-e SSD’s
hashingpro · Fri Sep 15, 2017 10:31 PM UTC · #25572
they had a service using network attached drives and found out it was the new bottleneck
hashingpro · Fri Sep 15, 2017 10:32 PM UTC · #25573
so they are using internal drives on that server so...onto the next bottleneck
tsims159 · Fri Sep 15, 2017 10:32 PM UTC · #25574
hashing pro, can you help me for a min?
hashingpro · Fri Sep 15, 2017 10:32 PM UTC · #25576
no need man we happy to help folks
hashingpro · Fri Sep 15, 2017 10:33 PM UTC · #25579
go make an account on litecoinpool
hashingpro · Fri Sep 15, 2017 10:33 PM UTC · #25580
and stick that URL and account info in as the 3rd option
hashingpro · Fri Sep 15, 2017 10:33 PM UTC · #25582
that way you have a safe failback with the other 2 go down
halfdime · Fri Sep 15, 2017 10:33 PM UTC · #25583
how long to yall estimate l3+ will be worth it, or their life cycle
hashingpro · Fri Sep 15, 2017 10:33 PM UTC · #25584
once you click apply, give it 2 mins, click on the status page, and see if it shows LCP as ALIVE
tsims159 · Fri Sep 15, 2017 10:34 PM UTC · #25585
I don’t even know how to set it up at litecoinpool. Struggled with that one as well.
hashingpro · Fri Sep 15, 2017 10:34 PM UTC · #25586
depends what your paying for electricity
hashingpro · Fri Sep 15, 2017 10:34 PM UTC · #25587
did you create an account there?
halfdime · Fri Sep 15, 2017 10:34 PM UTC · #25588
tsims, register at litecoin pool
hashingpro · Fri Sep 15, 2017 10:35 PM UTC · #25590
then login to it, click on my stats and add a worker
hashingpro · Fri Sep 15, 2017 10:35 PM UTC · #25591
or use the default one if its already there
halfdime · Fri Sep 15, 2017 10:35 PM UTC · #25592
https://www.multipool.us/ also has scrypt pools, probably wouldnt go with thier mulit pool tho, it constantly hops and kills hashrate
