Non-Script Question. Has anyone tried mining bitcoin cash with an S9. If so, what pool is good

sassoshots · · #23378

finally

Skarda wrote: Non-Script Question. Has anyone tried mining bitcoin cash with an S9. If so, what pool is good
its not possible as bitcoin cash is scrypt mined. S9 is not a scrypt miner, its an sha256

Skarda · · #23380

Correct. But my question was if anyone here has a antminer S9 mining bitcoin (just by chance). I am wondering if those have tried mining bitcoin cash and if so what pool. I understand it is a non-script question.

GregoryGHarding · · #23381

@fire3916 :  you are new, you have no idea what youre talking about, BCH is SHA256. if you dont know what youre talking about, kindly not pretend you do

He made a mistake, let’s be kind

GregoryGHarding · · #23383

i apologize, im having a bad day. he may have been mistaken, but there is too many new people here spreading incorrect information. they shouldnt be pretending to know what their talking about and telling others the wrong thing, its just going to screw up more people and make more tickets for you to work

Skarda · · #23384

Oh my, calm down. I understand BCH is sha256. note my heading, non-script question. I assume some of us L3 users also have S9s. my question is to those people. I understand this is a script/X11 pool and this question is a "Non-script" question. However I will rescind my question as an all exclusive L3 club Ha. It’s ok, I love this forum

maybe nicehash is an option for you ?

piet · · #23386

but no with bch i`m afraid

Anyone is overclocking a L3+?

SpacedCowboy · · #23390

Do I want to overclock a piece of equipment that is (a) difficulty to replace, (b) bloody expensive, and (c) currently profitable ? No. No, I do not.

Advanced1 · · #23391

Ive been overclocking the L3+’s since i got them no probs and maximised income early

Advanced1 · · #23392

Thats months problem free getting an avg extra 80 to 100mh per rig

centar · · #23393

if I solo mine a particular coin, do i get paid out in that coin or does it still get converted to the primary payout coin?

centar · · #23394

FAQ not clear

kuakoa · · #23395

you get paid in the coin you solo mine

centar · · #23396

ok, thanks.

Steve Sokolowski · · #23397

You’re welcome to talk about anything you’d like here, including SHA-256. We want to mine it too someday

lhfx21 · · #23398

@ Advanced1 May I ask, how much do you overclock?

centar · · #23399

another quick question if I may: If I only get paid for blocks I find, what is ticking up slowly in the "Live Balances" section? Are those profits from merge-mining or something?

MglMogul9 · · #23400

overclock to 450 is fine. but you may need to wait it on hot days when it is 80 or above outside.

jtsil · · #23401

why I have a forfeith in front of the litcoin address? thanks

hashingpro · · #23402

Jtsil its in front of all of them. If you find it is going to take you 300 days to get a bitcoin payout, on day 2, you may give up, click forfeit, toss the .000001 coins away and move to another payout you can get more often.

hashingpro · · #23403

or just leave them there as a reminder...i dont make enough bitcoins in a day to get a payout for 300 days...and remind yourself not to do it.

hashingpro · · #23404

but if you get sick of seeing .000001, you can forfeit and clear it.

i tried to say the same but wouldnt send from my phone

mycide · · #23407

@hashingpro oh god, we are giving all the profit away to complete noobs.

mycide · · #23408

geez am i dreaming or is efficiency like 100%

MglMogul9 · · #23409

WHY can’t i solo mine verge?

mycide · · #23410

i been asking several times why i cant solo min einsteinium. no support it seems or bugged. go pps

GregoryGHarding · · #23411

n=name a=scrypt d=difficulty c=verge

jtsil · · #23412

can anyone let me know why there is a forfeit in front my litcoins ? what could i have done wrong?

GregoryGHarding · · #23413

either its a bug or your miner is unlucky and coins have been returned to the pool, open a ticket to be sure

jtsil · · #23414

what you mean by miner is unlucky? i am a little new in mining

MglMogul9 · · #23415

@gregorygharding it is still not working lol

GregoryGHarding · · #23416

is verge in error? check using explorer or coin status chart

GregoryGHarding · · #23417

if its in error obv you cant mine it

GregoryGHarding · · #23418

@jtsil :  https://prohashing.com/help.html "Unreasonably low luck and socialized losses"

MglMogul9 · · #23419

dont look like it

GregoryGHarding · · #23420

checking

GregoryGHarding · · #23421

Verge is in error state

GregoryGHarding · · #23422

explorer dosnt show it but coin is in error on coin status table

MglMogul9 · · #23423

k thanks

jtsil · · #23424

E-Mail Chris and he can assist in tuning your miner? do you have Chris email?

GregoryGHarding · · #23425

open a ticket @ support.prohashing.com

bluelemonadecrypto · · #23426

I have been overclocking the L3+, some are better than others

bluelemonadecrypto · · #23427

I have one golden child that takes 20% extra with almost no temp rise and negligible HW errors

bluelemonadecrypto · · #23428

But I took it back to 12% over for now, will ramp it slowly and look for non linear changes

bluelemonadecrypto · · #23429

I also have one L3+ but that seems to be serially unlucky...

mycide · · #23430

yes some are betterthen other...... i mean really....

mycide · · #23431

dotn fckng ssolo mine with one L43 + if ur not fine witrh losing profits every day fr the rest of ur life.

bluelemonadecrypto · · #23432

I also have one that can’t take more than about 5-6% before the temps start to run away, even in A/C room

mycide · · #23433

sroy my spelling a bit shit atm...

bluelemonadecrypto · · #23434

@mycide depends what you solo mine, I am doing better than the auto swapping pool on my choice last two days

bluelemonadecrypto · · #23435

but have more than one, but one would still just do it

bluelemonadecrypto · · #23436

unless it is the unlucky one...

GregoryGHarding · · #23437

@mycide :  dont drink and prohash, lmao

bluelemonadecrypto · · #23438

all my workers down, auto fallback to litecoinpool

Obkpl · · #23439

prohash down

peepeepool · · #23440

Maybe in order to fix Verge they had to bring it all down as a sacrifice.

Damito · · #23441

@bluelemonadecrypto I have one that’s a trooper and one that’s on its way to Bitmain because two of its boards went to crap (at stock speeds). Seems to be a mixed bag.

moonshooting · · #23442

Obkpl wrote: prohash down
been down for me since then too. Popped back to LCP.org for now.

lhfx21 · · #23443

is the server down?

sassoshots · · #23444

yea this shit is down

sassoshots · · #23445

boutta roll some prohash

bluelemonadecrypto · · #23446

@Damito - when chips are made for general use they often make them and then sort them by testing in comsumer, industrial and military grade depending on how they perform at various temps etc

bluelemonadecrypto · · #23447

I suspect for the Antminer chips it is a fail/pass scenario, so by laws of distribution some will be better than others

bluelemonadecrypto · · #23448

though would have thought with the number on a hashing card it would all even outt

bluelemonadecrypto · · #23449

but there are also how ell any heatsinking is done to be considered

hqm909 · · #23450

The server dropped?

stugots2 · · #23451

sure looks that way

RBTData · · #23452

cashout

sassoshots · · #23453

hashingpro · · #23454

looks like they coming back on

hashingpro · · #23455

3 on, 5 off

halfdime · · #23456

should i manually set the difficulty on my l3, and if so what should i set it too

platoday · · #23457

typical L3+ earning today?

bluelemonadecrypto · · #23458

for L3+ set d=131072 or now they have changed the way it kicks off miners out of difficulty range you will find the autoadapt kicks you out at times, depending on coin

bluelemonadecrypto · · #23459

$USD40 per L3+, but you got to do a few things to them and how you mine, LSP currently paying $23 per day per standard L3+

bluelemonadecrypto · · #23460

sorry that wast litecoinpool.org calc shows $24 a day per L3+

bluelemonadecrypto · · #23461

24 hours 0.33289102 LTC 23.33 USD - LCP

platoday · · #23462

@bluelemonadecrypto :  you are saying setting d=131072 is making 40$ perday?

bluelemonadecrypto · · #23463

not just that, but that is one thing

platoday · · #23464

and probably overclocking?

bluelemonadecrypto · · #23465

not a lot, 4-10% a unit depending on how they respond

bluelemonadecrypto · · #23466

got one that seems able to do 20% over with little impact to temps and HW errors, but it does not seem right so running that one at 10% while I observe and decide

platoday · · #23467

cool thanks my units are already overclocked I will try setting d=131072

rudybit · · #23468

what other settings do you suggest for l3? other than d=1310173

rudybit · · #23469

and oc 4 -10

Forum notification · · #23470

has started a new topic: Payouts

rsup · · #23474

do you guys all overclock? doesn’t it void the warranty?

Kuduzela · · #23475

@rsup-it does void the warranty but life in general is about taking a risk

Kuduzela · · #23476

I assume they accepted that the warranty is gone; maybe they make more; when one machine break they buy another one.

Kuduzela · · #23477

One question I have; the overclocking with 4-10%; what do u mean- is it 4-10% from the accepted 384M

Tom3 · · #23478

@ GregoryGHarding : Greg, I have a question: Why are you showing your hashflare.io sheet? I am sure you know that they changed overnight their contract specification (of course all legal) to 1 year? And they are making adds in nearly all faucets. This is usually not a good sign. So I would take much care in investing their. I am invested since years and made thousands with them. But something seems to go wrong their. But this is just a feeling of past experiences with Cloudmining. At the moment Genesis made also a statement they would not change their contracts.

platoday · · #23479

yes mine is around 12% but I have good ventilation and AC and the has already paid for itself(i got it back when it was 1400$)

piet · · #23480

last 12hrs of minig are a joke, sometimes no shares or just stales or even pool dead...
