65% efficiency-what is happening

mmfiore · · #22177

At this point this pool has become so unreliable I am creating my own multi scrypt pool. I have had enough of this situation here.

FRISKIE · · #22178

amen brother

hi

Steve Sokolowski · · #22180

good morning

Steve Sokolowski · · #22181

today I plan to look into the CPU overload issue and try to reduce stale shares

+1

stugots2 · · #22185

I have been seeing on coinwarz and others that BTC mining with Scrypt is giving better profits then BTC mining with SHA-256 is this possible / correct? its been for about a week now

Steve Sokolowski · · #22186

hagendagen wrote: EU Server planed? Would be great !
If we find that sending work to miners is the bottleneck, then we would split the servers across the world, but since coin assignment is a serial operation, it would not result in fewer shares

Steve Sokolowski · · #22187

being stale, only less latency to your connection

Steve Sokolowski · · #22188

the servers still need to communicate with the core server, so using the European server might actually increase stales

micca410evo · · #22189

duplicate core?

FRISKIE · · #22190

There should be fully standalone regional hubs. These hubs can later synch any needed data with a defined master. Stop thinking with such tunnel visioned architecture planning.

Kuduzela · · #22191

We can’t keep on having the same problems now and again; PH had to take the users seriously- this problem had been hanging for so long and it seems still there is no solution; I appreciate Steve’s communication and updates; but a solution is needed as from yesterday

micca410evo · · #22192

true true, but i’m pretty satisfied as long as profits are better than ltcpool, it is on the brink right now though.

Steve Sokolowski · · #22193

this is a very difficult problem

Steve Sokolowski · · #22194

from what I can tell this is going to probably take about 20 days of work

Steve Sokolowski · · #22195

maybe less if users are willing to take a risk of insufficient testing

Icoinminer · · #22196

can anyone maybe help me with my l3+ miner?

Icoinminer · · #22197

i got into it, and was changing the network around. i must have misstyped the hostname or something, and when i tried to save as a static IP

Icoinminer · · #22198

the connection timed out

Icoinminer · · #22199

when i searched for the IP, it was still the same default, however, it said it was dead, meaning the IP wasn’t online...

Icoinminer · · #22200

how could I connect to my miner, and I can’t reset it since I can’t get in to it. The hard reset on the physical miner has a hole. Do I put something in it and hold for like 5 sec to reset?

hashingpro · · #22201

push the reset button on the L3+

hashingpro · · #22202

it should go back to DHCP after ar eboot so it shows up again

hashingpro · · #22203

ipscan25 or drop to an admin command prompt and type ARP -A

has started a new topic: cool down cycle for ASIC miners

hashingpro · · #22205

if you're using WIN-10, press the window key, type in NETWORK, and select the network and sharing center. Click the ETHERNET connection or WIFI on your PC. in the ETHERNET STATUS window that pops up, click DETAILS, all the stuff you need for L3+ setup is in there. mask, gateway, dns.

galixxx · · #22206

Icoinminer · · #22207

yea it was weird cuz when i clicked save, it just timed out, and then did not allow me to get back in.

Icoinminer · · #22208

with the reset button, there’s just a hole where a button should be, do I have to put something small in the hole to get to the button?

hashingpro · · #22209

yes a paperclip

hashingpro · · #22210

same as routers

Icoinminer · · #22211

alright thanks a bunch. i’ll try it out later

hashingpro · · #22212

yes, if you get the settings wrong, the miner attaches to a network you are NOT on and then you cant see it.

hashingpro · · #22213

which works just fine, as long as the miner can see the gateway, and can get outside it will mine, you just cant see it unless you are on the same network as it.

hashingpro · · #22214

when in doubt, and only as a last resort...RTFM.

stugots2 · · #22215

opinion needed: Gridseed 5.5 MH/s (not overclocked) which has low power consumption for only $100 used of course... worth it?

linkdead13 · · #22216

still yet to recieve a share

Tom3 · · #22217

@ stugats2 : not worth to buy for 100 usd. I have some at home but not running. I give them for free if somebody buy an S9 miner or would only ask for usd 20. But not incl. the power cable. This one is quite expensive. But 100 no way.

stugots2 · · #22218

$20 each with no power cable? how many you have?

stugots2 · · #22219

@Tom I’m interested in that $20 offer

n00bminer · · #22229

There is a FAQ

n00bminer · · #22230

stugots2 · · #22231

wonder why the L3+ went UP in price and the D3 down, do they know something we don’t?? lol

hashingpro · · #22232

@stugots2 YES, they know how many they have been selling 8)

stugots2 · · #22233

lol good pint

jimbo207 · · #22234

they also know what tech they have in the pipe

hashingpro · · #22235

@jimbo207 i doubt that has any effect at all really. Knowing that the new model will be 2X as fast won't make them cut the current ones by half price. They would still charge full right up until the new 2X fasters come out at the same price point.

Advanced1 · · #22236

In think they cut prices to put Innosilicon out of business ..then they will basically own the market and release a "new better" machine every 6 months to "reclaim" all the crypto we mine with the last machines we bought.

Advanced1 · · #22237

Innosilicon puts out A4 Dominator ...Bitmain launches L3 and then L3+ for les than A4 ...

Advanced1 · · #22238

then Innosilicon launces 10k 32gb x11 machine ....Bitmain launches D3 at $2600 for 15gb hash sells out then drops price ....to 1499 and you can buy 90gb hash for 9K ...Inno silicon is gonna go bankrupt

hashingpro · · #22239

from what I saw, the Inno machines look the way KNC machines were made, sorta put 2 or 4 of these together and poof its a new machine.

ArjunaX · · #22240

I managed to purchase 3 Nov batch D3’s the other night when they went on sale, wondering if x11 will even pay more than $20 a day by the time I get them.. Seems like profitability on both is dropping like 30% a week. I haven’t been mining long though, has it been dropping like this for a while? Besides coin value, is there anything else that can drive up profitability? Thanks in advance.

Advanced1 · · #22241

The Dominator has been rock solid and problem free .. it looks like the L3+ with only one fan and a seperate controller box. They are all designed to fit more per shelf now ...

Advanced1 · · #22242

D3s will pay alot more than that for a couple months well over $100 a day I suspect ...I have 5 coming in Sept and 2 in Nov so we will see ....Dash calcs show alot more ...but Its best to under estimate and hope the appreciation continues through the over saturation of new hash coming online

Advanced1 · · #22243

everyone has their own approach ...I like to stack some coins and trade for more profits ..or hold for appreciation and sell. I make way more this way . So as long as a machine pays its own overhead im still mining and stacking and trading...

Icoinminer · · #22244

hello. so i am with my miner. when i push the reset button it seems to not reset. how long or how many times do i need to press the reset button, and how long do i wait after i press it

ArjunaX · · #22245

Yeah agreed, thanks for the input. I am long on LTC and really believe it will end up outperforming both BTC and ETH, so even if immediate profitability falls each of those coins I earn will pay dividends.

ArjunaX · · #22246

Part of me wants to cross my fingers and blow 10k on a Sept batch off eBay.. but by the time it covers itself my Nov batch will be here.. Doesn’t make a lot of sense.

Advanced1 · · #22247

Exactly ...either your long or your not. Less taking out expenses and a little fun money im in ..and been stacking Litecoin as well. Good Luck

Advanced1 · · #22248

Yeah just wait it out . The hell with giving 10k to someone for flipping the machine

Icoinminer · · #22249

hello. so i am with my miner. when i push the reset button it seems to not reset. how long or how many times do i need to press the reset button, and how long do i wait after i press it

has started a new topic: L3 Miner Very Inefficient

platoday · · #22252

directly mining litecoin with L3+ is apparently more profitable compared to using PH

mvcatt · · #22253

do you mine directly through PH?

MglMogul9 · · #22254

whats everyone making a day with l3+ these days

hashingpro · · #22255

what about 32 bucks a day?

Icoinminer · · #22256

if my miner is on a diff network how can I find it?

hashingpro · · #22257

running windows ?

hashingpro · · #22258

@icoin are u running windows?

Icoinminer · · #22259

windows 10

hashingpro · · #22260

google and find ipscan25 program and see if that can find it someplace

hashingpro · · #22261

but if you messed up the gateway IP, its likely the miner isnt talking to the router to be on ANY network.

hashingpro · · #22262

when you set it as static you have to have the values right or you can lose it, that reset button should reset it though.

Icoinminer · · #22263

when i hit the reset it dont reset

hashingpro · · #22264

https://enforum.bitmain.com/bbs/topics/4258

Icoinminer · · #22265

how long does it take to reset?

Icoinminer · · #22266

and should i hold it for a certain amount of seconds?

hashingpro · · #22267

try that link, there are 3 ways it seems.

Icoinminer · · #22268

t

Icoinminer · · #22269

ty

hashingpro · · #22270

hope you can get it reset and back on the network so you can talk with it, GL.

platoday · · #22271

@mvcatt :  No I was being somewhat sarcastic! I am making 30-35$ with my overclocked L3+ and 10-15% less with a non overclocked one which is still I think 20% more to mining LTC directly

Icoinminer · · #22272

hey hashingpro it worked. Thank you alot :)

platoday · · #22273

*compared to mining LTC directly

platoday · · #22274

Also I am experiencing 60% efficiency right now, awesome!

bkjwashere · · #22275

I signed up for the first time today, but I’ve been on 3 hours and it still says "no valid shares yet". Under notifications it says actual is 0.00 MH/s, when it should be 1000 MH/s. I can’t figure out what to do to fix it
