@lilbob - front end is back for you?
FRISKIE · Sun Aug 27, 2017 11:36 AM UTC · #18932
@asodoco - if you are prepared to interact as a responsible community member, just say the word and I’ll give you the guidance to get up and running
FRISKIE · Sun Aug 27, 2017 11:39 AM UTC · #18935
Its fine, we all need to work together, Now the abuse of some users that were using NiceHash accounts caused the admins to have to make some emergency settings changes
lilbob · Sun Aug 27, 2017 11:40 AM UTC · #18936
sry firefox is crashing
FRISKIE · Sun Aug 27, 2017 11:40 AM UTC · #18937
These settings affect users that are submitting too many shares too quiclkly
FRISKIE · Sun Aug 27, 2017 11:40 AM UTC · #18938
So what that means for us right now, when we setup a NiceHash (NH) order?
FRISKIE · Sun Aug 27, 2017 11:41 AM UTC · #18940
1 - don’t set a single order up with very high GH/s , I find that right now it is best to run multiple orders of no more than 1 GH/s each
lilbob · Sun Aug 27, 2017 11:41 AM UTC · #18941
@friskie popped up for a second... seems checking on android works more often, cant sign in though
FRISKIE · Sun Aug 27, 2017 11:41 AM UTC · #18942
As for the difficulty settings
asodoco · Sun Aug 27, 2017 11:43 AM UTC · #18943
ah ok, but i see an high delta i think that is prohashing because isn’t stable so i need wait when the server is stable (When will be stable?)
FRISKIE · Sun Aug 27, 2017 11:43 AM UTC · #18944
I recommend to use dif. of 65536 for every 1 GH/s
FRISKIE · Sun Aug 27, 2017 11:43 AM UTC · #18945
In your case it seems a combination of factors, so please, first things first
asodoco · Sun Aug 27, 2017 11:44 AM UTC · #18946
ok but with 5 gh i have set about 32k of difficutl but on the page i see 16k
FRISKIE · Sun Aug 27, 2017 11:45 AM UTC · #18947
What happens if you do not have high enough difficulty set, the system will automatically switch you over to var. diff.
FRISKIE · Sun Aug 27, 2017 11:45 AM UTC · #18948
And the difficulty will climb to 500k
FRISKIE · Sun Aug 27, 2017 11:45 AM UTC · #18949
So, no. 1 DO NOT SET 5GH/s orders!
FRISKIE · Sun Aug 27, 2017 11:46 AM UTC · #18951
As I said, for now, max of 1 GH/s and use d=65536 for that order
FRISKIE · Sun Aug 27, 2017 11:46 AM UTC · #18952
If you want more GH/s setup more orders to run concurrently,
FRISKIE · Sun Aug 27, 2017 11:47 AM UTC · #18953
Now, that said - the server is running horribly right now, so even with those settings I gave you, it’s a toss-up if you will be profitable
FRISKIE · Sun Aug 27, 2017 11:48 AM UTC · #18955
But best advice - do this, setup an order of either 0.5 GH/s , or max 1 GH/s with the settings I gave you, and watch the performance, this will show you a "baseline" of sorts for how the server is behaving at the moment
gjaramillo · Sun Aug 27, 2017 11:48 AM UTC · #18956
"Moving our servers to a new hosting location to improve reliability. Downtime less than 5 minutes, but you will need to update your DNS." hi guys, how do i update my DNS? do we need to do this?
asodoco · Sun Aug 27, 2017 11:48 AM UTC · #18957
which is the best setup for delta (so with g off and h limit)
FRISKIE · Sun Aug 27, 2017 11:49 AM UTC · #18958
In this way you have ruled out any factors related to improper setup, and you see what is currently "normal"
asodoco · Sun Aug 27, 2017 11:50 AM UTC · #18961
i mean d=65536, g=off, h=1000
FRISKIE · Sun Aug 27, 2017 11:50 AM UTC · #18962
When will the server be running well again? I wish I knew mate, we’re all really frustrated here about that one
gjaramillo · Sun Aug 27, 2017 11:52 AM UTC · #18966
seem like the miner is working but no access to main page
FRISKIE · Sun Aug 27, 2017 11:52 AM UTC · #18968
No access to main page, always something here . . have to get used to it
asodoco · Sun Aug 27, 2017 11:53 AM UTC · #18969
i have tried the pool verificator and with d=65536 i receive Received mining.set_difficulty... OK: difficulty=16384
FRISKIE · Sun Aug 27, 2017 11:53 AM UTC · #18970
Mate, do what you want, enjoy.
asodoco · Sun Aug 27, 2017 11:54 AM UTC · #18971
so if a set 65k of difficult i receive 16k
FRISKIE · Sun Aug 27, 2017 11:58 AM UTC · #18972
just a sec, I will get you exactly what to enter in PW
asodoco · Sun Aug 27, 2017 11:59 AM UTC · #18973
no sorry now wworks thank you very much friskie, i always set with " , " now without " , " works
Steve Sokolowski · Sun Aug 27, 2017 11:59 AM UTC · #18975
Chris to deploy next phase of updates in an hour or so
FRISKIE · Sun Aug 27, 2017 12:00 PM UTC · #18977
Ok , start yourself with just a 0.5 GH/s to test, and use these PW arguments
FRISKIE · Sun Aug 27, 2017 12:00 PM UTC · #18978
d=32768 h=1000 g=off n=worker_name
FRISKIE · Sun Aug 27, 2017 12:01 PM UTC · #18980
Regardless what the verificator says, just set it up that way
FRISKIE · Sun Aug 27, 2017 12:02 PM UTC · #18981
n= just put your worker name in there, or leave it out if you only will run 1 worker
FRISKIE · Sun Aug 27, 2017 12:02 PM UTC · #18983
I would advise to use workers though, for example setup multiple orders with n=worker_1
FRISKIE · Sun Aug 27, 2017 12:03 PM UTC · #18986
next with n=worker_2 etc.
FRISKIE · Sun Aug 27, 2017 12:04 PM UTC · #18988
Because as I was saying before, with the current difficulty limitations, you will need to run several smaller orders that behave well, in order to add up to the desired hashrate
asodoco · Sun Aug 27, 2017 12:04 PM UTC · #18989
ok delta -2 % it’s good?
FRISKIE · Sun Aug 27, 2017 12:05 PM UTC · #18990
Well, ideally the green and red deltas even out over time, but that’s not terrible for now anyway
FRISKIE · Sun Aug 27, 2017 12:06 PM UTC · #18992
No panic mate, it’s most important to let an order run for a bit, then see how it averages over time
asodoco · Sun Aug 27, 2017 12:06 PM UTC · #18993
ok, i think that is the serve unstable
FRISKIE · Sun Aug 27, 2017 12:07 PM UTC · #18995
But now you have the proper settings, and you are ready to go once the server is running smoothly again
asodoco · Sun Aug 27, 2017 12:08 PM UTC · #18996
yes, thank you very much i hope that in the afternoon the server is stabl2
FRISKIE · Sun Aug 27, 2017 12:09 PM UTC · #18997
Well, considering it has been unstable in this similar way for several weeks now, I would think that may be optimistic
FRISKIE · Sun Aug 27, 2017 12:10 PM UTC · #18998
Keep in mind this is behavior and instability we see when running orders from NH, some others with various hardware miners report that they are profitable, others not, so the results seem mixed
asodoco · Sun Aug 27, 2017 12:10 PM UTC · #18999
for weeks? anyway 3-4 days ago i have tried and works perfectl9
FRISKIE · Sun Aug 27, 2017 12:11 PM UTC · #19001
I too occasionally hit those moments where all runs perfectly, then it goes to hell.
FRISKIE · Sun Aug 27, 2017 12:12 PM UTC · #19003
For your own background, NH is infested with bots that are monitoring the profitability data here on PH. When the profit rises, those bots kick in and send more hashpower over and overload the server.
asodoco · Sun Aug 27, 2017 12:12 PM UTC · #19004
which is the best price for order on nicehash? for have a profit with prohashing
FRISKIE · Sun Aug 27, 2017 12:14 PM UTC · #19005
This has been an ongoing nightmare for weeks, and has a lot to do with why the server runs well for a while, then gets overloaded and shares fall behind, coin switching is affected and all goes to hell.
Steve Sokolowski · Sun Aug 27, 2017 12:14 PM UTC · #19006
FRISKIE wrote: For your own background, NH is infested with bots that are monitoring the profitability data here on PH. When the profit rises, those bots kick in and send more hashpower over and overload the server. This isn’t true - see the FAQ for more information
FRISKIE · Sun Aug 27, 2017 12:15 PM UTC · #19007
I’ll argue with you till my deathbed on that point Steve
FRISKIE · Sun Aug 27, 2017 12:15 PM UTC · #19008
And offer up meticulous proof, and test cases so everyone can see this for themselves.
FRISKIE · Sun Aug 27, 2017 12:15 PM UTC · #19009
Screw your FAQ if it says otherwise
asodoco · Sun Aug 27, 2017 12:15 PM UTC · #19010
i think that on nicehash there are fake orders, i see some order with 0.05 for gh/S
dc101 · Sun Aug 27, 2017 12:15 PM UTC · #19011
Is everything back to normal yet? Thanks
Steve Sokolowski · Sun Aug 27, 2017 12:17 PM UTC · #19012
dc101 wrote: Is everything back to normal yet? Thanks In what way? The connectivity problems seem to have been resolved by the attack protection migration
Steve Sokolowski · Sun Aug 27, 2017 12:17 PM UTC · #19013
There are some additional fixes going out in 30m
asodoco · Sun Aug 27, 2017 12:18 PM UTC · #19014
i have now the problem with connect the miners
FRISKIE · Sun Aug 27, 2017 12:18 PM UTC · #19015
@Steve - if what you mean is that PH is finally taking measure to mitigate this activity, then great - and you should clarify it this way, rather than calling my statement wrong
FRISKIE · Sun Aug 27, 2017 12:20 PM UTC · #19016
Anyway, many of us have wondered out loud for a long time now why you insist on trying to cover up and defend the activities of the NH bots. Peculiar indeed Steve
Steve Sokolowski · Sun Aug 27, 2017 12:23 PM UTC · #19017
FRISKIE, please stop with conspiracy theories
Steve Sokolowski · Sun Aug 27, 2017 12:23 PM UTC · #19018
we are taking no measures, I’ve made that clear
asodoco · Sun Aug 27, 2017 12:24 PM UTC · #19019
delta +10% wow, so steve in about 30 minutes the server wil be ok at 100%?
Steve Sokolowski · Sun Aug 27, 2017 12:24 PM UTC · #19020
maybe not at 100%, but we hope to see improvement
Steve Sokolowski · Sun Aug 27, 2017 12:24 PM UTC · #19023
that’s not an issue but a way the system works
asodoco · Sun Aug 27, 2017 12:25 PM UTC · #19024
ok anyway now i see +10, before -40 -50 - 90 - 10 XD
Steve Sokolowski · Sun Aug 27, 2017 12:25 PM UTC · #19025
I’ll have to ask you to leave, FRISKIE
FRISKIE · Sun Aug 27, 2017 12:25 PM UTC · #19026
I wouldnt call it a conspiracy to consider that you guys are likely mining your own server with help of the NH bots to maximize profits, are you?
Steve Sokolowski · Sun Aug 27, 2017 12:26 PM UTC · #19029
I answered the question - it’s false, and we aren’t going to be talking to you anymore or answering your questions
