I know PH doesnt plan to implement RandomX for now and I even understand why. But as you already have the cryptonight daemon, why not support ther great many coins that use the many variants of cryptonight
When you look at the great many variants of cryptonight, Cryptonote, crypronight light, heavy, cryptonightR. Why not support those coins as you already have most of the work done in your previous Daemon
Over the holiday break, I was going to if anyone was interested write up a guide on how to connect GPU miners to PH as it seems a lot fo people have drama . Would anyone find this helpfull, for example a list of gpu mining software that plays nice with PH and how to set up the config?
To start with you may not know this but PH is one of the worlds best kept secrets . A whole lot of people dont even know you exist. I only found out abouy you by pure chance. Just to test my theory I went looking over pool lists from all over the place and you hardly come up in a LARGE number of pool reviews.
One the Nicehash front, well its finally gotten to be nothing but a bad joke, Your projected profit jumps all over the place from 50cents a day to $1000 a day than straight back down again.
also while you appear to make more on some algo’s, by the time you add up all the fees , both hidden and obvious, not including the new exchange fee if you want to convert crypto on NH’s so called exchange the total fees are beyond obcence
and last thing , the so called profit switching to different algo’s is nothing but a scam. By the time your rig changes to a new miner and finally starts gettting shares you are down the drain a VERY karge amoiunt of mining time. As the miner makes a switch based on sometime as low as 2%, it makes the switch miners for sometimes less than 5 minutes then switches straight back again.
Your merge mining is a much better idea. I did a test on NH two days before I said goodbye for good and over a 24hour cycle nearly 5 hours was taken up in unless switching time that you barely got a single share from. As I have 100 gpu rigs and rather large amount of asics, I finally said goodbye, I will never use the service again
Ive been slowly working out which mining programs play nice with PH and how to set them up, Do you think a step by step guide on setup for gpu miners and how to make each one work with PH would be useful for people? Ive been a programmer for 40 years , so ive been around a bit. If a help guide would be of any use I would be happy to do it over the holiday break
looks like I picked the perfect time to leave Nicehash. Theyb just killed the repayment program from the so called hack. Check the website in the news section or there is a post about it at the NH reddit page
I normallu wouldnt do this as I htare reddit but head on over to the Nicehash reddit and watch the rats leaving the sinking ship. https://old.reddit.com/r/NiceHash/

Their numbers are a lie. They were hacked on December 6, 2017, at a BTC price of $19,900, and they are paying back in bitcoins, which have yet to reach that value. They claim to have paid 82% of the owed money back, when in reality the number is somewhere around a third.
Unless the authorities are finally able to shut them down for operating an illegal business, I doubt that most people will leave Nicehash because many Nicehash miners are aware that their miners are being used in 51% attacks and blockwithholding attacks that Nicehash declines to prevent - and they mine there anyway

I would personally find this type of guide incredibly helpful. I’m currently using nicehash. They have their NHLM app that does the algorithm auto-switching to "maximize" profits. Prohashing doesn’t currently have this capability.

I bet a large number of GPU miners will switch over to Prohashing if you guys develop a solution to easily connect GPU rigs. Might be a very nice, gentle, passive way to increase Prohashing business.
Glad to hear someone is interested. So im going to take a few weeks over the break to compose a How-to guide for PH. I just wanted to hear that people where interested before taking all that time to do something no one wanted. What a PDF be the best format for people? Any feedback on what people want in such a guide would be most helpful
Im considering coding a profit switching program, similar to what Nicehash use but much better (that wont be hard considering the garbage people are subjected to at the moment)
The burning question is do people want a windows app, or a Linux build. I prefer Linux myself but I know a whole lot of people prefer windows as its already on the machine they use and you dont have to learn too many new skills.
maybe I need to set up a pole for this, but at what level should a profit switcher be set? . The biggest downfall on nicehash is most of the time it does an algo switch over a 2% margin. this is a waste of time as by the time the code is loaded it often gets 2 or 3 shares then switches straight back again. I dont know if people realise just how much down time you have in all this switching, but it can add up to hours of wasted time that you make no money in
hey Steve , did you get the rather long reply I sent you yesterday to our previous email. Your forums wont let me PM you and it would be nice to hear your thoughts on what I said
Speaking just for me Greg, Windows please. I used Linux before and it was just to limiting. All the miner updates come out for Windows first, just a ton easier all in all

AwesomeMiner has this GPU mining capability already. It’s simply too difficult to figure out how to configure it to work with Prohashing. AwesomeMiner might be a good starting point...it’s free of charge for 2 miners / GPU mining rigs...and can handle profit switching.

I worked with the Awesome Miner developers and got the site added to their list of pools

Chris said there was an expired SSL certificate for the live statistics. For the coins, we’re not aware of any widespread issues, so those would best be handled with a support ticket - thanks!
keydric wrote: how long was that downtime? Just now coming back online.
The downtime lasted a few minutes because an attempted upgrade of the share inserters to Python 3 failed. Chris reverted the changes. We will try again later today after resolving that bug, which didn’t appear in development.
Support tickets are important because we can assign them to the person who is most qualified to answer the ticket, and track whether issues have been resolved - while we would love to answer all questions through E-Mail or the forums, we found that issues that affect one account often got forgotten and we had to take steps to improve service on that
