CSZiggy · Thu May 10, 2018 09:02 PM UTC · #84681
im betting power or internet off at the servers
CSZiggy · Thu May 10, 2018 09:03 PM UTC · #84683
so however long for that to come back up
deboerdion · Thu May 10, 2018 09:03 PM UTC · #84684

CSZiggy · Thu May 10, 2018 09:03 PM UTC · #84685
or if chris has to drive there, whats that normally 4-6 hour drive?
deboerdion · Thu May 10, 2018 09:04 PM UTC · #84687
30 to 45 min du file check and database i guess
CSZiggy · Thu May 10, 2018 09:06 PM UTC · #84689
they had backup generator power and I thought they had a 2-3 day supply
CSZiggy · Thu May 10, 2018 09:06 PM UTC · #84690
so unless bad sotrms kicked them off days ago, im still going to go with internet off
CSZiggy · Thu May 10, 2018 09:06 PM UTC · #84692

CSZiggy · Thu May 10, 2018 09:09 PM UTC · #84697
its an outage map of area affected around philly, they have the mining servers located someplace near there
CSZiggy · Thu May 10, 2018 09:09 PM UTC · #84699
when chris has to do upgrades to the servers...he has to travel to philly from state college pa
CSZiggy · Thu May 10, 2018 09:10 PM UTC · #84701
yeah i think he said 4-6 hours when he has to travel there
CSZiggy · Thu May 10, 2018 09:10 PM UTC · #84703
but a lot is automated to revboot, switch power
CSZiggy · Thu May 10, 2018 09:11 PM UTC · #84704
if they have to travel to reboot a modem to get a signal to connect in and reboot that would blow.
deboerdion · Thu May 10, 2018 09:12 PM UTC · #84705
i am an SAP tech in my firm so i can feel his pain
deboerdion · Thu May 10, 2018 09:13 PM UTC · #84706
if hardware needs the boot under the ass.. there nothing more to do than get your shoes on..
alim · Thu May 10, 2018 09:15 PM UTC · #84710

CSZiggy · Thu May 10, 2018 09:16 PM UTC · #84711

CSZiggy · Thu May 10, 2018 09:17 PM UTC · #84715
is it an internet outage?
deboerdion · Thu May 10, 2018 09:20 PM UTC · #84717
@steve? why is the pool down, realy like your pool but i notice a lot of downtime....
CSZiggy · Thu May 10, 2018 09:21 PM UTC · #84720
a few reboots and a day for the T1 upgrade, i'd not say a LOT of downtime not like 4 hours every other day
CSZiggy · Thu May 10, 2018 09:21 PM UTC · #84721
and thats over the past 3 or 4 months now
deboerdion · Thu May 10, 2018 09:22 PM UTC · #84722
ok unlucky moment for me maybey
deboerdion · Thu May 10, 2018 09:22 PM UTC · #84723
i stop comlpaining.. pools up
alim · Thu May 10, 2018 09:25 PM UTC · #84725
LOL - i am glad I refreshed my screen before pointing mine elsewhere
CSZiggy · Thu May 10, 2018 09:25 PM UTC · #84726
not quite all the way up but better
alim · Thu May 10, 2018 09:26 PM UTC · #84728
better than pointing to another pool whilst it is sorted. I am saving the details for failover
CSZiggy · Thu May 10, 2018 09:28 PM UTC · #84729
scrypt and equihash not updateing yet
CSZiggy · Thu May 10, 2018 09:28 PM UTC · #84730
must just take a while for the data to get going
alim · Thu May 10, 2018 09:29 PM UTC · #84731
and scrypt miners have reset to the preferred pool without a reboot
CSZiggy · Thu May 10, 2018 09:29 PM UTC · #84732
usually once they detect a higher prioority pool they swap back in a minute or 2
alim · Thu May 10, 2018 09:30 PM UTC · #84733
fabulous! now I can get back to sorting out the miner I can’t connect here
CSZiggy · Thu May 10, 2018 09:31 PM UTC · #84734

@CSZiggy - I have a miner whose algo is not yet live here

Anyone can help with solo mining?

alim · Fri May 11, 2018 09:13 AM UTC · #84744
I can’t read the announcement on the site, it disappears too quickly. Could someone please paste it here....b eg re the incident
Darzl · Fri May 11, 2018 09:54 AM UTC · #84745
Over the last few days my LTC amount is getting 0.01ltc per day, any ideas? I added an extra L3+ end of last week and my earnings went to 0.16ltc a day now it’s down to 0.13ltc

L3+ heat question jeffms2003 · Fri May 11, 2018 03:41 PM UTC · #84747
Hello - I’m new to this, so don’t hate. Does the "Live Balances" section represent what my balance is net of the 5% Prohashing fee?
CSZiggy · Fri May 11, 2018 03:54 PM UTC · #84749
then you have to pay electric on top of that
CSZiggy · Fri May 11, 2018 03:55 PM UTC · #84750
unless they fixed the wattage price arguments then you can see if you make any net after electricity also
CSZiggy · Fri May 11, 2018 04:01 PM UTC · #84752
what algo are you mining?
jeffms2003 · Fri May 11, 2018 04:03 PM UTC · #84753
scrypt right now until I get my small farm set up then I’ll have scrytp and SHA-256
CSZiggy · Fri May 11, 2018 04:03 PM UTC · #84754
how many machines you looking to have?
jeffms2003 · Fri May 11, 2018 04:03 PM UTC · #84755
I’ll also have equihash in a little less than 2 months
CSZiggy · Fri May 11, 2018 04:04 PM UTC · #84757
asics or video cards or >?
CSZiggy · Fri May 11, 2018 04:04 PM UTC · #84759
good amount of wattage, hows the cooling setup for them?
jeffms2003 · Fri May 11, 2018 04:05 PM UTC · #84760
So far I’ve found that prohashing seems to be the most profitable
CSZiggy · Fri May 11, 2018 04:05 PM UTC · #84761
you can run 2 of them in the basement without any cooling setup, over 2, you need exhaust heat or it builds up
jeffms2003 · Fri May 11, 2018 04:06 PM UTC · #84762
Yeah, I’m going to rent a small space and setup ducting on each and exhaust fans
jeffms2003 · Fri May 11, 2018 04:06 PM UTC · #84763
Will route all heat into a box with fans exhausting the hot air
CSZiggy · Fri May 11, 2018 04:06 PM UTC · #84764
gonna have to be a big box.
CSZiggy · Fri May 11, 2018 04:09 PM UTC · #84765
hope the rent and electric are low enough for you to make a profit the way the coins keep falling in price.
jeffms2003 · Fri May 11, 2018 04:09 PM UTC · #84766
yes sir - close to 3 ft by 3 ft and exhaust fans pulling a minimum of 1,600 cfm out
jeffms2003 · Fri May 11, 2018 04:09 PM UTC · #84767
yeah, I have a bit of room from that aspect - electricity is very cheap
CSZiggy · Fri May 11, 2018 04:10 PM UTC · #84768
my electric was cheap, it was the distro that costed it too much
CSZiggy · Fri May 11, 2018 04:12 PM UTC · #84770
the cost was 1 rate, and the distrobution charges to get the electric to the place was another
CSZiggy · Fri May 11, 2018 04:12 PM UTC · #84771
the L3+s I think pump out 200 cfm of air, so if you have 9 of them, you may need over 1600 to move it
CSZiggy · Fri May 11, 2018 04:14 PM UTC · #84772
also not sure you will be able to fit all the air pumping out into just a 3x3 box, may have to up those a bit more.
jeffms2003 · Fri May 11, 2018 04:17 PM UTC · #84773
I’m just going off of what someone else did - they were able to run 16 machines on 2000 cfm without an impact on temp. I can run up to 2,200 cfm as I’ll be using 2 12 inch variable speed fans to vent exhaust
jeffms2003 · Fri May 11, 2018 04:17 PM UTC · #84774
I’ll test it out and adjust as needed
