the 'bonus' you get is if you are restarting faster than the default 1
AppleMiner · Mon Jan 08, 2018 12:45 AM UTC · #74823
you get to the coin a bit faster
AppleMiner · Mon Jan 08, 2018 12:46 AM UTC · #74824
there is no payout bonus on your daily earings or anything like that
AppleMiner · Mon Jan 08, 2018 12:47 AM UTC · #74825
are you mining in the autopool or static?
black_devil · Mon Jan 08, 2018 12:49 AM UTC · #74827
Mining on a L3+, as far as I know there is no opportunity to get better restart times
AppleMiner · Mon Jan 08, 2018 12:49 AM UTC · #74828
that would be for people who think they can mine the lowest difficulty coin on the pool
AppleMiner · Mon Jan 08, 2018 12:50 AM UTC · #74829
and get 1000 of them a day and make more than the rest of the pool because they are getting more shares.
AppleMiner · Mon Jan 08, 2018 12:50 AM UTC · #74830
if the coin they are on is that far off the average it will affect their restart times and they will get a penalty for dragging down the pool
AppleMiner · Mon Jan 08, 2018 12:51 AM UTC · #74832
if you are on the auto pool already i do not think it will matter for you
black_devil · Mon Jan 08, 2018 12:52 AM UTC · #74833
Im not that familiar with mining yet, I know some basics but I dont know what you are meaning right now
AppleMiner · Mon Jan 08, 2018 12:52 AM UTC · #74834
your restart times are fine
AppleMiner · Mon Jan 08, 2018 12:52 AM UTC · #74835
unless they are double...and going up to 2 secs, id not worry about it
black_devil · Mon Jan 08, 2018 12:52 AM UTC · #74836
difficulty is set on dynamic
AppleMiner · Mon Jan 08, 2018 12:53 AM UTC · #74838
has it been running for over 2 hours since the last restart or conenction to the pool?
black_devil · Mon Jan 08, 2018 12:53 AM UTC · #74839
ah checked again 5sec, whats happening ;/
AppleMiner · Mon Jan 08, 2018 12:53 AM UTC · #74840
on the live worker status whats the time since first share say
black_devil · Mon Jan 08, 2018 12:54 AM UTC · #74841
not yet, switched from solo to pps about 20min ago
gestalt · Mon Jan 08, 2018 12:54 AM UTC · #74842
The restart time as I understand it is measured by the soonest that a miner returns a share after new work is sent to the miner. Mining low difficulty coins will show a lower work restart time because it is more likely for it to return a share immediately after getting new work. The actual restart time is not changed between high and low diff though.
black_devil · Mon Jan 08, 2018 12:54 AM UTC · #74843
but I always got restart penalty 1, even if it runs for days
AppleMiner · Mon Jan 08, 2018 12:54 AM UTC · #74844
sop first you should prolly give it 2 hours so it can get all the data it needs to give you some real numbers
overlordx · Mon Jan 08, 2018 12:54 AM UTC · #74845
in the settings panel monacocoin shows 0.00 for minimum, default and maximum payout. Does anyone know what is happening with MonacoCoin?
AppleMiner · Mon Jan 08, 2018 12:55 AM UTC · #74846
@overlordx : go clear to the bottom of the charts page, on the LIVE coin status
AppleMiner · Mon Jan 08, 2018 12:55 AM UTC · #74848
then click control + F and do a find on that coin
AppleMiner · Mon Jan 08, 2018 12:55 AM UTC · #74849
and see if its in error with a red box, open the box and read why if it is
black_devil · Mon Jan 08, 2018 12:56 AM UTC · #74850
that 1.7sec restart time were from when it was running for some days
AppleMiner · Mon Jan 08, 2018 12:56 AM UTC · #74851
where in the world are you mining from?
gestalt · Mon Jan 08, 2018 12:56 AM UTC · #74852
@black_devil : I’m pretty sure that restart penalty 1 = 100% = no penalty, no bonus
AppleMiner · Mon Jan 08, 2018 12:57 AM UTC · #74854
there are 2 diff numbers, the restart time and restart penalty right
AppleMiner · Mon Jan 08, 2018 12:57 AM UTC · #74855
if restart penalty says 1 you are fine.
black_devil · Mon Jan 08, 2018 12:57 AM UTC · #74856
Im mining from Austria and got a stable glass fibre connection
gestalt · Mon Jan 08, 2018 01:00 AM UTC · #74858
One of my miners has restart time 0.283s and penalty is still 1. I think that the bonus thing was probably removed at some point.
black_devil · Mon Jan 08, 2018 01:05 AM UTC · #74860
is there any way to improve restart times on the L3+
gestalt · Mon Jan 08, 2018 01:06 AM UTC · #74861
Not that I’m aware of. It already quite good on the L3+. That 0.283s was an L3+.
gestalt · Mon Jan 08, 2018 01:07 AM UTC · #74862
The fluctuation is mostly a measurement issue. If you have a difficulty that causes you to return shares every 8 sec for example, then it is unlikely you will return a share in 0.25s even if that is how fast your miner actually switches work.
black_devil · Mon Jan 08, 2018 01:07 AM UTC · #74863
from where are you mining from?
black_devil · Mon Jan 08, 2018 01:08 AM UTC · #74865
yeah that could be the reason :/
gestalt · Mon Jan 08, 2018 01:09 AM UTC · #74866
If it says penalty = 1, then it won’t affect anything above what you can gain just by lowering your latency to the servers.
black_devil · Mon Jan 08, 2018 01:10 AM UTC · #74867
I got 100ms to the pool, I cant do anything about it, I allready got glass fibre, but as I know the Prohashing servers are in the US, so theres nothing I can do about it
black_devil · Mon Jan 08, 2018 01:11 AM UTC · #74868
how much do you pay for the energy?
gestalt · Mon Jan 08, 2018 01:11 AM UTC · #74869
100ms is not too bad, 57ms here.
black_devil · Mon Jan 08, 2018 01:13 AM UTC · #74874
0.16 here an its the cheapest
AppleMiner · Mon Jan 08, 2018 01:13 AM UTC · #74875
last thing I need is to pay an extra $1500 a month, pass on your electric prices.
black_devil · Mon Jan 08, 2018 01:15 AM UTC · #74876
Its not too bad for me, The L3+ is my first miner and I just wanted to try it out
AppleMiner · Mon Jan 08, 2018 01:15 AM UTC · #74877
its a very reliable and stable miner to use
AppleMiner · Mon Jan 08, 2018 01:15 AM UTC · #74878
a LOT more friendly than the KNC titan I started with
AppleMiner · Mon Jan 08, 2018 01:15 AM UTC · #74879
L3+ really is plug and play
AppleMiner · Mon Jan 08, 2018 01:16 AM UTC · #74880
with the titans..there was still a good chance of getting the plugs and wires backwards
AppleMiner · Mon Jan 08, 2018 01:16 AM UTC · #74881
remember kids...red wire goes on the left.
black_devil · Mon Jan 08, 2018 01:16 AM UTC · #74882
I had the opportunity to buy the new baikal giant b, but I thought no not another one... and no I think "fuck myself"
AppleMiner · Mon Jan 08, 2018 01:16 AM UTC · #74883
if you set it up with the red wire on the right take it off both ends and flip it around.
black_devil · Mon Jan 08, 2018 01:17 AM UTC · #74885
Im glad I started with the l3+ XD
AppleMiner · Mon Jan 08, 2018 01:17 AM UTC · #74886
no..dont have 2 diff connectors so no way to get it backwards...and then have it be a hidden 2 X 6 rows of pins I need to blindly feel to get the cap on
AppleMiner · Mon Jan 08, 2018 01:17 AM UTC · #74887
and the firehazard that it still is
AppleMiner · Mon Jan 08, 2018 01:18 AM UTC · #74888
too much power from just 1 PCI-E input line connector
AppleMiner · Mon Jan 08, 2018 01:18 AM UTC · #74890
when I saw the L3+ had 2 PCI-E pins for power on each hasboard...I think i cried..a little bit.
AppleMiner · Mon Jan 08, 2018 01:18 AM UTC · #74891
titan would burn up power lines
AppleMiner · Mon Jan 08, 2018 01:19 AM UTC · #74892
and supplies if it shorted at the power end not the miner end
AppleMiner · Mon Jan 08, 2018 01:19 AM UTC · #74893
had to resolder caps on the miner input sides
AppleMiner · Mon Jan 08, 2018 01:19 AM UTC · #74895
and the heat...its heating...the room its in and 2 rooms next to it right now
AppleMiner · Mon Jan 08, 2018 01:20 AM UTC · #74896
i drug it up out of storage this past week when i needed to turn the heat on in the front room
AppleMiner · Mon Jan 08, 2018 01:20 AM UTC · #74897
figured it could heat the whole place and pay for its own heat
AppleMiner · Mon Jan 08, 2018 01:20 AM UTC · #74899
3 years old and still puts out 400 hash at 1200 watts
black_devil · Mon Jan 08, 2018 01:21 AM UTC · #74900
thats some good hardware you got there
black_devil · Mon Jan 08, 2018 01:21 AM UTC · #74901
one of my L3+ hashing boards died and is now in hongkong to repair
AppleMiner · Mon Jan 08, 2018 01:21 AM UTC · #74902
and yet due to effecinecy i havent been bothering to run it
AppleMiner · Mon Jan 08, 2018 01:21 AM UTC · #74903
would rather get 650 hashs for 750/800 watts
AppleMiner · Mon Jan 08, 2018 01:22 AM UTC · #74904
most of the power the titans used...was converted into heat, and then the process of getting rid of that heat
AppleMiner · Mon Jan 08, 2018 01:22 AM UTC · #74905
the L3+ is soo much more effecient in that way
AppleMiner · Mon Jan 08, 2018 01:23 AM UTC · #74906
i need 3 or 4 of the L3+ to heat the room up this much
black_devil · Mon Jan 08, 2018 01:23 AM UTC · #74907
Maybe I will buy some more L3+ and make a custom water cooler for it, just to heat my pool in the winter
black_devil · Mon Jan 08, 2018 01:24 AM UTC · #74908
well, good for the winter, worse for the summer
AppleMiner · Mon Jan 08, 2018 01:24 AM UTC · #74909
buy some old KNC titan of ebay. Go with the hot tub options.
DeterMINEd · Mon Jan 08, 2018 01:24 AM UTC · #74910
Apple, Have you heard about Bitmain moving to Canada and America?
AppleMiner · Mon Jan 08, 2018 01:25 AM UTC · #74912
no, and i really doubt they ever would
AppleMiner · Mon Jan 08, 2018 01:25 AM UTC · #74914
thats why i could never use antpool
DeterMINEd · Mon Jan 08, 2018 01:25 AM UTC · #74915
Yes,head office moving to Singapore
AppleMiner · Mon Jan 08, 2018 01:25 AM UTC · #74916
the distance to that conenction made me hash like 30% less than anyplace else
DeterMINEd · Mon Jan 08, 2018 01:26 AM UTC · #74918
China clamping down on miners apparently
AppleMiner · Mon Jan 08, 2018 01:26 AM UTC · #74919
and they dont have any server nodes or anything anywhere else that i know of
AppleMiner · Mon Jan 08, 2018 01:26 AM UTC · #74920
they already clamped on the ICOs and exchanges
AppleMiner · Mon Jan 08, 2018 01:26 AM UTC · #74921
so they could get it setup and regulatd and get a piece of the pie
