@greaseman316 :  just a bunch of old griseed ASICs. not especially profitable, but it’s all I have.

VanessaE · · #64097

@AppleMiner : </strong> I know, that’s my point. 32k+ is unreasonably high for low-end devices.

greaseman316 · · #64098

VanessaE id say good luck finding a pool wih low difficulty. there are some older pools out there that still help older stuff with less hash power but this one is mostly high power asics

AppleMiner · · #64099

its likely to only go up

AppleMiner · · #64100

same reason why a smartphone from 3 years ago that cant upgrade to lollipop is no longer usable for apps on the app store

greaseman316 · · #64101

if you want to try your hand at a single coin and just mine what you can try 803 pool they still have lower difficulty for you

AppleMiner · · #64102

why the garmin from 4 years ago with lifetime maps cant get the new ones from too small memory on previous models

greaseman316 · · #64103

AppleMiner · · #64104

people come here with laptops and gpu and want to mine and make money. this is an upwardly mobile game, if you arent upgrading eventaully you will be left behind. Thats not an issue, just the way it is.

AppleMiner · · #64105

a Pentium laptop was a breakthrough when it came out. But anyone running one now, knows why its slow, its still a pentium and not a newer i5 or i7

VanessaE · · #64106

guys, I am not talking about network diff. the only reason the minimum diff here is so high is from the Brothers trying to control the rate at which shares are submitted (higher diff == fewer per minute). that’s fine for high-end ASICs that can submit dozens of shares per second at a diff of 512 for example, not for low-end devices that can only manage a couple per second

greaseman316 · · #64107

thats kinda the point. they got to keep the pool profitable for the other 19k workers connected

AppleMiner · · #64108

i thought the reason for raising the min diff was to make it less accessible to those with slower machines so it wouldnt flood the pool with 1 million slower machines and tie up resources

AppleMiner · · #64109

but also thought that was only while there was a worker cap in place or to help with a bandwidth issue

AppleMiner · · #64110

not a CPU bottleneck which is what seems to be all the issues now

AppleMiner · · #64111

so once they got more bandwitch and removed the worker cap

AppleMiner · · #64112

technically that min diff should have been lowered to allow 1000 new miners to join with older miners and mine.

greaseman316 · · #64113

Low difficulty means tons more submitted shares which even new servers can not keep up with

blakeman12 · · #64114

I never set my difficutly to anythimg, should i with the antminer l3+?

greaseman316 · · #64115

not unless you want to. minimums were raised to help with that

VanessaE · · #64116

@greaseman316 :  then the server is shit. explain to me, then, why I can point my miners at litecoinpool, which is with a diff of just 64 and it works perfectly (aside from litecoins not being profitable to mine), even though they’re serving 6 times the hash rate as prohashing

VanessaE · · #64117

-"which is" (typo)

greaseman316 · · #64118

what is your hash rate?

VanessaE · · #64119

nominally about 19.6 MH/s (scrypt) but usually reads as just over 18 MH/s on the site.

blakeman12 · · #64120

501 right now

blakeman12 · · #64121

501 mh/s

greaseman316 · · #64122

litecoin pool is a ton larger and they try to suck up every last share they can even the small stuff. when nice hash took a crap everybody went running an alot came here

greaseman316 · · #64123

as new accounts were added the amount of miners went from just over 5k to 19k in a few days which even with new servers about killed the rest of us that had already been mining here with connectivity issues

blakeman12 · · #64124

i dont think you will make more at litecoinpool

greaseman316 · · #64125

well there you have a better chance of getting a few shares with lower hash power

AppleMiner · · #64126

@blakeman12 :  i have been

blakeman12 · · #64127

hmm wow, maybe i should try for a longer period of time then...thanks!

AppleMiner · · #64128

if you had more than 1 miner id advise you to run a day or 2 of tests, then swap the miners settings and check them again.

AppleMiner · · #64129

when i ran my tests last week and ever day since ive checked vs the test rig I keep here to monitor payouts daily

blakeman12 · · #64130

ok, i do only have one miner

AppleMiner · · #64131

the % of coins I get from litecoinpool vs the percent of coins I earn here for a day...I get more there.

blakeman12 · · #64132

do u have any special config for the litecoin pool password?

AppleMiner · · #64133

i dont think they have special passwords, its the password you have setup for your miner there

AppleMiner · · #64134

I think all my rigs have x as a password

blakeman12 · · #64135

ok, thanks

AppleMiner · · #64136

but again, your values may differ make your own tests and draw your own conclusions

AppleMiner · · #64137

so far ive been 10-15% higher at litecoin pool for the past 2 weeks now

AppleMiner · · #64138

yesterday may have been a special day from the verge payout that bumped it for the day

blakeman12 · · #64139

interesting

AppleMiner · · #64140

but doubting we see that payout...evar again

mycide · · #64141

appleminer static ltc mining more profitable then this pool, again how is that even possible?

AppleMiner · · #64142

PAYOUT COINS

AppleMiner · · #64143

its the average of what was paid out

AppleMiner · · #64144

if you pick a diff coin than I pick

AppleMiner · · #64145

your payoutr could be 2X what the expected 1MH price says it was yesterday

JiveTonto · · #64146

@blakeman12 :  come static mine some donationcoin my bra

AppleMiner · · #64147

and mine, using the same mining rig couldbe half what your payout was

JiveTonto · · #64148

Be a good little earner soon

AppleMiner · · #64149

becuase 2 + 4 = 6 and 6/2 = 3

mycide · · #64150

this pool should not be possible to make less then litecoinpool.org, should be impossible.

AppleMiner · · #64151

so the average is 3....me getting 2 is under that, and you earning 4 is over it

JiveTonto · · #64152

Donation coinnewyork

JiveTonto · · #64153

Newyorkcoin

JiveTonto · · #64154

Dimecoin

JiveTonto · · #64155

2018 winners

AppleMiner · · #64156

its the same reason in problems and stats class the baby drowns in the river that averagees .1 inches.

AppleMiner · · #64157

yeah averages suck...but if it fell into the part of the river that was 5 feet, its gone.

mycide · · #64158

litecoinpool calculator shows 1/3 more LTC payed out daily.

mycide · · #64159

that would be huge difference.

AppleMiner · · #64160

im getting closer to 15% not quite 33%

mycide · · #64161

didnt do exact calculations but here 0.28 per day litecoinpool shows 0.38 hmm minus my titan rig that is always on litecoinpool, so i guess closer to 20% difference then 30.

mycide · · #64162

and i dont know how many times i will say this but how is that even possible? it should nt be possible for that static pool to pay better then PH.

blakeman12 · · #64163

are you you saying that because litecoinpool only mines LTC?

JiveTonto · · #64164

@mycide :  consistancy

AppleMiner · · #64165

if you plot value on percent of coins, and value on percent of $ profits

mycide · · #64166

then PH system is flawed, if its meant to pay the best rate u can get and consistently pay less for weeks. that is a flaw or something is wrong in the system.

AppleMiner · · #64167

the lines cross, at a point on the graph it makes more sense to mine on 1 pool vs the other. Its just math vs profits.

AppleMiner · · #64168

when the $ profits are higher, I mine here on PH.

AppleMiner · · #64169

when the percent of coins values are higher, then I mine on Litecoinpool

greaseman316 · · #64170

geez segwitx2 guys pushing the crap out of it today. ive gotten 20 emails about it from them already

AppleMiner · · #64171

1 is a $ payout, the other is a % of coin payout

AppleMiner · · #64172

they are paying out on 2 different metrics, and depending on the value 1 is higher than the other on a given day

mycide · · #64173

appleminer if this is how its done, it seems pointless being here at all, ur mining becuyase you believe in the future, not because you think the price today s the best. why would you want to mine less coins at any time? accumulation is key.

AppleMiner · · #64174

it goes back to asking. which do you want? 1 coin or $1000 dollars?

AppleMiner · · #64175

sorta depends how much the coin is valued at on which you want right?

AppleMiner · · #64176

same reason I just stated @mycide :

mycide · · #64177

... why would you go mine a shitcoin that skyrocketed, you would get jack shit, and then coin plummits.

AppleMiner · · #64178

you can mine here today and make $100

AppleMiner · · #64179

or you can mine at litecoinpool and make 1 coin today.

AppleMiner · · #64180

when LTC is less than 100, then you make more money here making that $100 and turning it into 1.02 coins

AppleMiner · · #64181

when LTC is MORE than 100, you get more minign there, cause as a percent 1 coin > $100

mycide · · #64182

i mined here for over half a year, but lately it has consistantly showed less profit then litecoinpool, long before your name was in this chat. i followed profits everyday, this is different now.

AppleMiner · · #64183

i was fine back in july, aug, then the first ddos attack and i had issues getting miners back off and on for a while

AppleMiner · · #64184

then the data center move and all that hassle back in september

mycide · · #64185

only reason to go usd high on individual day is if u plan on selling and cashing out same day. otherwise you want accumulation sitting around gaining 20-30% less coins per day is seriously bad in a year or two.

AppleMiner · · #64186

o m g

AppleMiner · · #64187

you arent getting it

AppleMiner · · #64188

on some days the $ profit here makes you a higher percent of coins than you get on Litecoinpool

AppleMiner · · #64189

litecoinpool makes me 1.8 coins daily right now

AppleMiner · · #64190

I can really easiy take that 1.8 and find out how much that is per day in $

AppleMiner · · #64191

if I can get that $ or MORE here then I should be mining HERE

AppleMiner · · #64192

if not then I should stay there and make my 1.8 coins a day.

AppleMiner · · #64193

if the $ equates into a higher precent of coins earned...OVER 1.8

AppleMiner · · #64194

then i get a higher precent of coins based on the higher $ usd profit earned

mycide · · #64195

your not making any sense. if ltc goes up in price i make less ltc but the same usd value, and im telling you that is stupid as hell, you dont want daily usd accumulation you want COIN.
