I love the D3 Optimus, it has the trailer and the gun!
may142012 · Thu Sep 21, 2017 09:30 PM UTC · #29315
Seriously, which voltage transformer is good for the PSU 1600W?
may142012 · Thu Sep 21, 2017 09:30 PM UTC · #29317
Yeah, but i want to plug in 220v to get more power
hashingpro · Thu Sep 21, 2017 09:30 PM UTC · #29318
they say the APW3++ work with it fine
hashingpro · Thu Sep 21, 2017 09:31 PM UTC · #29319
220v doesnt give you more power
hashingpro · Thu Sep 21, 2017 09:31 PM UTC · #29321
all my apw3++ and 5s run on 220V just fine
hashingpro · Thu Sep 21, 2017 09:31 PM UTC · #29322
i plan on using the apw5++ on my D3s
hashingpro · Thu Sep 21, 2017 09:32 PM UTC · #29323
think those handle up to 2400
may142012 · Thu Sep 21, 2017 09:32 PM UTC · #29324
So, i don’t want to run 2 D3 24/7 to break my circuit in my house
may142012 · Thu Sep 21, 2017 09:32 PM UTC · #29326
The one in the link i sent, is it good?
may142012 · Thu Sep 21, 2017 09:33 PM UTC · #29327
Help me please, i have a headache with this
hashingpro · Thu Sep 21, 2017 09:34 PM UTC · #29329
if you have 2 D3s they are going to be using 2400 watts of power
may142012 · Thu Sep 21, 2017 09:35 PM UTC · #29332
Yeah, but don’t want to break the circuit
may142012 · Thu Sep 21, 2017 09:35 PM UTC · #29333
That’s why i want to use a transformer instead
hashingpro · Thu Sep 21, 2017 09:36 PM UTC · #29335
http://www.rapidtables.com/calc/electric/Watt_to_Amp_Calculator.htm
hashingpro · Thu Sep 21, 2017 09:37 PM UTC · #29336
says at 220 its 12 amps, at 11 its 23 amps
hashingpro · Thu Sep 21, 2017 09:37 PM UTC · #29337
if its a 15 amp circuit with nothing else on it, you can run that 24-7 and only be at 80% load and be fine
may142012 · Thu Sep 21, 2017 09:38 PM UTC · #29339
Well it said something 120v/220v, single circuit at 36.4 to 40
kleissen86 · Thu Sep 21, 2017 09:38 PM UTC · #29340
may you can use 2 110v on different breakers and make your own 220v by get each 110v feed and making a single plug with 2 110s
kleissen86 · Thu Sep 21, 2017 09:38 PM UTC · #29341
just make a trip to home depot and buy what you need
hashingpro · Thu Sep 21, 2017 09:38 PM UTC · #29342
may read the last line of that transformer.. WARNING :- Not Recommended for heat producing items such as Microwave & Toaster Etc.
hashingpro · Thu Sep 21, 2017 09:39 PM UTC · #29343
wonder if the miners qualify
hashingpro · Thu Sep 21, 2017 09:40 PM UTC · #29344
i just had electrician run 220 lines out of the box to receptacles, and plugged them in
hashingpro · Thu Sep 21, 2017 09:40 PM UTC · #29345
sorry didnt mess with steppers and transformers
hashingpro · Thu Sep 21, 2017 09:41 PM UTC · #29346
may here is the thing, it will pull in the juice to convert it from 110 to 220
hashingpro · Thu Sep 21, 2017 09:41 PM UTC · #29347
but it still i think has to pull in that much juice, so the amps on the line will be the same
may142012 · Thu Sep 21, 2017 09:42 PM UTC · #29348
So, is the transformer helpful or i will have to return it.
hashingpro · Thu Sep 21, 2017 09:42 PM UTC · #29349
I dont see it helping at all tbh
hashingpro · Thu Sep 21, 2017 09:42 PM UTC · #29350
I think that would be, I have a plasma torch that runs on 220 and I want to use it in the house
hashingpro · Thu Sep 21, 2017 09:42 PM UTC · #29351
i need to convert my 110 to 220 so i can use the device
hashingpro · Thu Sep 21, 2017 09:42 PM UTC · #29352
if the transformer plugged into 220
hashingpro · Thu Sep 21, 2017 09:43 PM UTC · #29353
then it could pull in 2400 watts at just 12 amps
hashingpro · Thu Sep 21, 2017 09:43 PM UTC · #29354
and not kill the circuit and give you power for 2 D3s.
hashingpro · Thu Sep 21, 2017 09:43 PM UTC · #29355
but if you have to plug that transformer into a 110 outlet to power it
hashingpro · Thu Sep 21, 2017 09:43 PM UTC · #29356
its going to have to pull 2400 watts at 23 amps through your circuit to move it to 2400 watts at 220 with only 12 amps
hashingpro · Thu Sep 21, 2017 09:44 PM UTC · #29357
its not the amps from the wall plug to the device, its from the wall plug to the box's fuse
hashingpro · Thu Sep 21, 2017 09:44 PM UTC · #29358
so transforming the power from 110 to 220 after its already had to move at 110 through the wall at 23 amps i dont see that helping any
hashingpro · Thu Sep 21, 2017 09:45 PM UTC · #29359
unless the transformer is on its own 30 amp fuse?
hashingpro · Thu Sep 21, 2017 09:45 PM UTC · #29360
but in that case you could have plugged the D3s to the wall via a surge protector anyhow and bypassed the transformer
may142012 · Thu Sep 21, 2017 09:47 PM UTC · #29361
Well, just to be sure i want to plug 2 AWP3++ in the output 110v
hashingpro · Thu Sep 21, 2017 09:48 PM UTC · #29362
and that will be 1200 + 1200 watts, 2400 watts
may142012 · Thu Sep 21, 2017 09:48 PM UTC · #29363
This transformer can support up to 5000w, so it won’t be an issue, right?
hashingpro · Thu Sep 21, 2017 09:48 PM UTC · #29364
and on a 110 volt line that is 23 amps.
hashingpro · Thu Sep 21, 2017 09:49 PM UTC · #29367
as soon as you plug it all in, the transformer will try to pull 2400 watts in to power your miners
hashingpro · Thu Sep 21, 2017 09:49 PM UTC · #29368
and unless you have a 30 amp fuse the 23 amps will pop it
may142012 · Thu Sep 21, 2017 09:50 PM UTC · #29369
But i wonder will the transformer blows if i run it at 24/7
hashingpro · Thu Sep 21, 2017 09:50 PM UTC · #29370
unless you have 30 amp house fuses, it will blow everytime you turn it on
hashingpro · Thu Sep 21, 2017 09:50 PM UTC · #29371
you pull 23 amps across a 15 amp house fuse it will pop every time you turn it over
mycide · Thu Sep 21, 2017 09:51 PM UTC · #29372
i set up my L3’s 2 rigs per 220v @ 10 amp fuse but i also plan on running my D3’s on the same so 2 rigs is 2400 watts, should be fine.
mycide · Thu Sep 21, 2017 09:52 PM UTC · #29373
my main house fuse is 25 amp
hashingpro · Thu Sep 21, 2017 09:52 PM UTC · #29374
for the circuit you will be plugging the miners into?
hashingpro · Thu Sep 21, 2017 09:53 PM UTC · #29376
the L3 on 220 run at 3.6, so 7 of 10 is fine, its under the 80% threshold
hashingpro · Thu Sep 21, 2017 09:53 PM UTC · #29377
you can go over 80 but i play it on the safe side
hashingpro · Thu Sep 21, 2017 09:54 PM UTC · #29378
but May wants to try and power 2 D3s
hashingpro · Thu Sep 21, 2017 09:54 PM UTC · #29379
and im still trying to find out what amp circuit they want to plug in on
hashingpro · Thu Sep 21, 2017 09:54 PM UTC · #29380
think trying to get 110 to convert to 220, but if the 100 has to go through the wall then there is no sense converting it after it arrived
hashingpro · Thu Sep 21, 2017 09:55 PM UTC · #29381
it only makes sense to convert it at the box so the amps arent pushing a fire load through the walls.
hashingpro · Thu Sep 21, 2017 09:57 PM UTC · #29382
May maybe run an extension cord to a 2nd circuit and power 1 each from separate circuits. prolly best you can do if dont have a 220 line run.
hashingpro · Thu Sep 21, 2017 09:57 PM UTC · #29383
or a really big fuse for that circuit
hashingpro · Thu Sep 21, 2017 09:58 PM UTC · #29385
ok so that power supply has to be plugged into a 220
hashingpro · Thu Sep 21, 2017 09:59 PM UTC · #29387
wherever you plug the plug into
hashingpro · Thu Sep 21, 2017 09:59 PM UTC · #29389
so you need 2 transformers 1 for each power supply per D3
hashingpro · Thu Sep 21, 2017 09:59 PM UTC · #29390
and you need to run an extension cord form 1 to a seperate circuit
mycide · Thu Sep 21, 2017 09:59 PM UTC · #29391
i dont know about a 110 volt for 2 D3’s but i think 220v can do it.
hashingpro · Thu Sep 21, 2017 10:00 PM UTC · #29392
cuase you are still plugging the transformer into a 110 line and each circuit will ahve a 12 amp load on it full time
mycide · Thu Sep 21, 2017 10:00 PM UTC · #29393
but if u have 110 in house u might consider paying to have it changed or atleast add a handful of 220’s on separate fuses.
hashingpro · Thu Sep 21, 2017 10:00 PM UTC · #29394
think may is trying to use it as is without doing a 220 conversion
hashingpro · Thu Sep 21, 2017 10:01 PM UTC · #29398
get rid of that power supply, scrap the transfomrers, get a APW3++ for 150 on ebay and just use that
mycide · Thu Sep 21, 2017 10:01 PM UTC · #29399
should be able to run the D3’s but maybe only one per fuse.
hashingpro · Thu Sep 21, 2017 10:01 PM UTC · #29400
plug the apw3++s into each miner, plug each power supply into a seperate circuit
hashingpro · Thu Sep 21, 2017 10:02 PM UTC · #29401
as long as nothing else runs on those 2 circuits you should be fine
hashingpro · Thu Sep 21, 2017 10:02 PM UTC · #29402
if its standard house circuits its 15 amps, so 12 on 15 is fine if nothing else gets plugged in
mycide · Thu Sep 21, 2017 10:02 PM UTC · #29403
still wating til first batch in Nov for my D3’s
hashingpro · Thu Sep 21, 2017 10:03 PM UTC · #29404
so you have to find out how many circuits and what all is running on them
may142012 · Thu Sep 21, 2017 10:03 PM UTC · #29406
Well, i have water heater, AC, kitchen, ect...
mycide · Thu Sep 21, 2017 10:03 PM UTC · #29407
i upped my main from 16 amp, to 20, and now to 25 amps, make sure i can run it all.
mycide · Thu Sep 21, 2017 10:04 PM UTC · #29408
250 usd more per year for that just to have the mains.
mycide · Thu Sep 21, 2017 10:05 PM UTC · #29409
800 i think now is the yearly cost for my mains.
may142012 · Thu Sep 21, 2017 10:05 PM UTC · #29410
I can’t figure out what my amp is
mycide · Thu Sep 21, 2017 10:05 PM UTC · #29411
Can i ask, when you ran all appliances u ever have problems with fuses going?
