dog1965 · Sat Sep 16, 2017 04:23 AM UTC · #26398
I have 20 tb of hd space
dog1965 · Sat Sep 16, 2017 04:24 AM UTC · #26400
yes think I will upgrade to 1 ghz if its worth it I have the router.
bluelemonadecrypto · Sat Sep 16, 2017 04:24 AM UTC · #26402
but I am well old enough to have learned the one thing that is greater pain than working retail and dealing with the public is providing IT services of any kind and dealing with users...
SpacedCowboy · Sat Sep 16, 2017 04:24 AM UTC · #26403
Do it. Gigabit fiber is amazing
dog1965 · Sat Sep 16, 2017 04:25 AM UTC · #26404
dont need to unless I start my own pool.
bluelemonadecrypto · Sat Sep 16, 2017 04:25 AM UTC · #26405
I am still thinking to start my own private pool to solo mine with merge, the way I am mining here right now I get no pool benefits and lose 5% in fees, plus downtime and other issues of PH acocunt
hashingpro · Sat Sep 16, 2017 04:26 AM UTC · #26407
I bet blue would join you, he might be looking for another one.
bluelemonadecrypto · Sat Sep 16, 2017 04:26 AM UTC · #26409
most of the software is available ready to go
SpacedCowboy · Sat Sep 16, 2017 04:26 AM UTC · #26410
To be fair, you don’t need anything like GbE for miners - the data throughput isn’t that much, and the differences in latencies don’t matter
bluelemonadecrypto · Sat Sep 16, 2017 04:26 AM UTC · #26411
and if I ran intranet myself don’t have to worry about DDOS attacks etc
dog1965 · Sat Sep 16, 2017 04:27 AM UTC · #26412
I have a x99 mobo i7 pci-e ssd
SpacedCowboy · Sat Sep 16, 2017 04:27 AM UTC · #26414
But if you want to download 4k movies, if you want to work at home and VNC your 3 4k monitors at work, then GbE makes it as smooth as butter
dog1965 · Sat Sep 16, 2017 04:27 AM UTC · #26415
now think if your runing a pool server
bluelemonadecrypto · Sat Sep 16, 2017 04:27 AM UTC · #26417
if you were going to make a public pool you would not do it from home, you would rent a server in a managed farm with cloudfare DDOS protection etc
SpacedCowboy · Sat Sep 16, 2017 04:32 AM UTC · #26419
If an L3+ uses 2Gbyte a month, then it uses < 1kbyte/sec. This place tops out at ~1500 users. That’s 1.5 Mbyte/sec or 12 Mbit/sec assuming everyone is using L3+’s
bluelemonadecrypto · Sat Sep 16, 2017 04:32 AM UTC · #26420
my golden child L3+ just found two blocks in quick succession - Gold Child=13 in 12 hrs, slow friend next to it=3
hashingpro · Sat Sep 16, 2017 04:32 AM UTC · #26421
i would ask what is up...but the answer is most likely what is down
backwerd · Sat Sep 16, 2017 04:32 AM UTC · #26422
nicehash is reporting all connection to pool being terminated
bluelemonadecrypto · Sat Sep 16, 2017 04:32 AM UTC · #26423
bandwidth is not the limiting factor in running a pool
SpacedCowboy · Sat Sep 16, 2017 04:33 AM UTC · #26426
My point as well. Mining isn’t the reason to get GbE.
bluelemonadecrypto · Sat Sep 16, 2017 04:33 AM UTC · #26428
hmmm, mining-dutch launching an attack?
backwerd · Sat Sep 16, 2017 04:34 AM UTC · #26430
Remote pool terminated connection. Trying to reestablish soon.
backwerd · Sat Sep 16, 2017 04:34 AM UTC · #26431
when orgers try to connect to prohashing
SpacedCowboy · Sat Sep 16, 2017 04:34 AM UTC · #26432
So basically it’s just PH that’s down after some server maintenance. Something wasn’t restored quite right, probably.
backwerd · Sat Sep 16, 2017 04:34 AM UTC · #26433
been like that for about 5 hours
backwerd · Sat Sep 16, 2017 04:35 AM UTC · #26434
so is all miners unable to connect?
hashingpro · Sat Sep 16, 2017 04:35 AM UTC · #26435
mine are on other pools working, this one bounced off.
SpacedCowboy · Sat Sep 16, 2017 04:35 AM UTC · #26436
Yeah, got 0 miners connected atm.
bluelemonadecrypto · Sat Sep 16, 2017 04:35 AM UTC · #26437
meanwhile my backup pool litecoinpool never goes down
Searing · Sat Sep 16, 2017 04:36 AM UTC · #26441
Yep all 19 miners just dumped to backup litecoin pool...including my 1 x11 baikal 300mh
bluelemonadecrypto · Sat Sep 16, 2017 04:36 AM UTC · #26443
they wrote most of their software from scratch themselves
hashingpro · Sat Sep 16, 2017 04:37 AM UTC · #26444
at least LCT is predictable, .33 LCT per day per L3+ no matter the price of LCTs at the time mined.
bluelemonadecrypto · Sat Sep 16, 2017 04:37 AM UTC · #26445
if you just want to mine litecoin they are the best of the best
Searing · Sat Sep 16, 2017 04:37 AM UTC · #26446
on other news.....all 3 exchanges stop local actions today price goes up ...pleased but befuddled
bluelemonadecrypto · Sat Sep 16, 2017 04:37 AM UTC · #26448
calc currentlyt shows 1.5LTC a day from 4 L3+ with 5% overclock
bluelemonadecrypto · Sat Sep 16, 2017 04:38 AM UTC · #26451
two of the BTC exchanges in China did not do a lot of ICO so they got an extra month, that is why prices spiked around 16 hours ago
hashingpro · Sat Sep 16, 2017 04:39 AM UTC · #26452
so blue do you make 25$ here a day with PH?
bluelemonadecrypto · Sat Sep 16, 2017 04:39 AM UTC · #26454
lot of people are happy that china less involved in BTC, this is why price up after a lot of chinese ran for the door
hashingpro · Sat Sep 16, 2017 04:39 AM UTC · #26456
so 25 X 4 miners is 100 right?
Searing · Sat Sep 16, 2017 04:40 AM UTC · #26459
i show at 300mh 6 buck titans at 13c kwh 7 buck L3’s and 14 buck a day L3+’s on litecoinpool 102% calculator
backwerd · Sat Sep 16, 2017 04:40 AM UTC · #26460
any news on eta for mining in this pool?
Searing · Sat Sep 16, 2017 04:40 AM UTC · #26462
much better thene less then 4 bucks for titans/ 5 bucks L3’s and 10 bucks L3+’s at beg of the day
bluelemonadecrypto · Sat Sep 16, 2017 04:40 AM UTC · #26463
yesterday was all but $35 USD per L3+, plus 2.4 hours on litecoinpool for downtime
bluelemonadecrypto · Sat Sep 16, 2017 04:41 AM UTC · #26464
this is why I amsaying, for me, I got poaid no extra based on the numbers
bluelemonadecrypto · Sat Sep 16, 2017 04:41 AM UTC · #26465
the forfeit thing just does not add up for me
hashingpro · Sat Sep 16, 2017 04:41 AM UTC · #26466
just one lucky solo miner i guess.
bluelemonadecrypto · Sat Sep 16, 2017 04:41 AM UTC · #26467
I mined more coins last 24 hours on higher diff than I did 3 days ago, same coin
bluelemonadecrypto · Sat Sep 16, 2017 04:42 AM UTC · #26470
I hav been "lucky" for the whole of last week, before and after the forfeit scandal
Searing · Sat Sep 16, 2017 04:42 AM UTC · #26472
I prob should move off LTC for a bit....got up to 500 hoard as my goal...maybe should go back to btc
bluelemonadecrypto · Sat Sep 16, 2017 04:42 AM UTC · #26475
it is not luck, the coin hopping thing looks good ont he surface but they are not doing it optimally
hashingpro · Sat Sep 16, 2017 04:42 AM UTC · #26476
im already back to BTCs as a result of PH being down and NH paying me now
Searing · Sat Sep 16, 2017 04:43 AM UTC · #26477
i did not get any extra either
sassoshots · Sat Sep 16, 2017 04:43 AM UTC · #26478
got some november batch d3s who wants one
bluelemonadecrypto · Sat Sep 16, 2017 04:43 AM UTC · #26479
doubt they will be profitable by nov
hashingpro · Sat Sep 16, 2017 04:43 AM UTC · #26480
for free, you shouldnt have sasso
Searing · Sat Sep 16, 2017 04:43 AM UTC · #26482
sorry @sassoshots I have 3 coming same time...but need equip deductions so probably a wash
Searing · Sat Sep 16, 2017 04:44 AM UTC · #26484
oops that was L3+’s I have supposedly 1 D3 coming this week and 1 next month same time (dubious purchase the 2nd one)
sassoshots · Sat Sep 16, 2017 04:44 AM UTC · #26485
well just lookin out for you guys there on the bitmain site rn.. i wont profit all over yall lol
sassoshots · Sat Sep 16, 2017 04:45 AM UTC · #26486
so if you want one go grab one now
Searing · Sat Sep 16, 2017 04:45 AM UTC · #26487
no last hurrah was what 2 batches ago for L3+’s ...I’m at 50% tax rate on miners now so can afford to do it
hashingpro · Sat Sep 16, 2017 04:45 AM UTC · #26488
really doubt they have any good ROI after nov batch hits
Searing · Sat Sep 16, 2017 04:45 AM UTC · #26489
at least 2 batches ago since then any asic flavor or equip er nope .....
hashingpro · Sat Sep 16, 2017 04:45 AM UTC · #26490
and I bet ppl running sept ones will be ready to trade them in, they got all out of it they needed
Searing · Sat Sep 16, 2017 04:46 AM UTC · #26491
you guys know this likely but 50% goes to tax man or same 50% goes to equip plus the 25% equip deduction
Searing · Sat Sep 16, 2017 04:47 AM UTC · #26492
towards taxes I owe this year.....so 2 batches ago (and the d3’s) it was a 25% more risk then paying tax man
Searing · Sat Sep 16, 2017 04:47 AM UTC · #26493
even that has not worked for the last 4-6 weeks for any flavor of equip....just saying why/my/angle
SpacedCowboy · Sat Sep 16, 2017 04:47 AM UTC · #26494
If you section-179 them, take 100% of any mining equipment costs, including things like shipping, off your tax bill in the first year of deployment.
Searing · Sat Sep 16, 2017 04:48 AM UTC · #26495
yeah that is what I mean..but real savings is the 25% off I get off the money I’d have to pay tax man for
