mine come in at end of November. Fine with me I seriously need a break in October.
hashingpro · Mon Sep 11, 2017 04:19 AM UTC · #23078
They should be 800, but bitmain knows they can charge 3K and ppl will still buy them and resell them on ebay to ppl who cant figure out how to pay in crytpo for the miners yet still want to mine with them.
peepeepool · Mon Sep 11, 2017 04:20 AM UTC · #23079
Yeah it always crosses my mind but there is nothing I hate more than selling stuff on ebay and dealing in customer service and the post office lol. It’s like a full time job.
peepeepool · Mon Sep 11, 2017 04:21 AM UTC · #23080
I seriously thought about just flipping the power supplies lol
SpacedCowboy · Mon Sep 11, 2017 04:22 AM UTC · #23081
So, I’ve got 16 L3+’s on here, 2 of which are no-show, the remaining 14 are ’Calculating hash rate’, but it says it’s doing 7GH/s at the top (and this is changing from time to time) - which to believe ?
hashingpro · Mon Sep 11, 2017 04:22 AM UTC · #23082
I have 2 extras in case any blow, seemed a good precaution
SpacedCowboy · Mon Sep 11, 2017 04:23 AM UTC · #23083
It’s been like this for the last half hour or so
peepeepool · Mon Sep 11, 2017 04:25 AM UTC · #23086
I got 14 extra power supplies lol. got paranoid that I’d be sitting there with miners and no power! never trust a chinese supply train.
hashingpro · Mon Sep 11, 2017 04:25 AM UTC · #23087
for the 2 that aren't connecting in, I would say copy the username, password, and URL from one of the 14 that IS connecting in, and then change the n= name of those 2 miners and try that.
hashingpro · Mon Sep 11, 2017 04:26 AM UTC · #23089
if that works I think I know why.
SpacedCowboy · Mon Sep 11, 2017 04:27 AM UTC · #23090
Yeah, I’ve only seen 14 all day. They’re co-located, so I’ve asked the staff to reboot’em but I don’t think they have weekend cover
They’re all next to each other, so I doubt it’s a systemic thing
hashingpro · Mon Sep 11, 2017 04:27 AM UTC · #23091
no i mean in the miner config page, copy the settings
hashingpro · Mon Sep 11, 2017 04:28 AM UTC · #23092
or you dont have access to the machine settings remotely either?
SpacedCowboy · Mon Sep 11, 2017 04:28 AM UTC · #23093
Well, if the reboot doesn’t work when they do that (probably Monday AM) I’ll ask them to make that change.
vinylwasp · Mon Sep 11, 2017 04:28 AM UTC · #23094
spoke too soon this morning. Pools not looking good again - missing miners, ’calculating stats’, un-named miners. Lets hope it gets sorted in the morning ESDT
SpacedCowboy · Mon Sep 11, 2017 04:28 AM UTC · #23095
No it’s "very secure". Only staff can change stuff... Pain in the ass actually.
peepeepool · Mon Sep 11, 2017 04:29 AM UTC · #23096
spaced what coin are you mining?
SpacedCowboy · Mon Sep 11, 2017 04:29 AM UTC · #23097
I set all the miners the same, just the default n=xxxxx, nothing else. I let the pool figure out what to mine.
hashingpro · Mon Sep 11, 2017 04:29 AM UTC · #23098
@spaced it sounds like it. I decided from the getgo better or worse I wanted control over my own hardware at all times.
vinylwasp · Mon Sep 11, 2017 04:30 AM UTC · #23099
I regret hosting some of mine. PITA
SpacedCowboy · Mon Sep 11, 2017 04:30 AM UTC · #23100
Difference is about $3k/month in electricity for me. I pay $33/kwH in the Bay Area, in Canada it’s $0.04.
hashingpro · Mon Sep 11, 2017 04:31 AM UTC · #23102
I was like either bay area is in a 3rd world country or on mars
vinylwasp · Mon Sep 11, 2017 04:31 AM UTC · #23103
Same here (kinda) 0.075 in NZ, and 0.06 (all up) in China.
SpacedCowboy · Mon Sep 11, 2017 04:31 AM UTC · #23104
For that price, I can put up with the co-lo. Even if it’s frustrating at times.
hashingpro · Mon Sep 11, 2017 04:32 AM UTC · #23105
whats the hosting cost per miner per month?
vinylwasp · Mon Sep 11, 2017 04:32 AM UTC · #23106
No remote access is what kills it for me. Can’t even check the UI
hashingpro · Mon Sep 11, 2017 04:33 AM UTC · #23108
@ vinyl did you mean .75 vs .06?
vinylwasp · Mon Sep 11, 2017 04:33 AM UTC · #23109
Nope, but both are in USD roughly
SpacedCowboy · Mon Sep 11, 2017 04:33 AM UTC · #23110
I’m going to ping the guy on Monday - see if they can at least think about providing a portal to your own miners...
vinylwasp · Mon Sep 11, 2017 04:34 AM UTC · #23111
I pay 0.09 + 17.5% sales tax (GST) in NZD per Kw/h
hashingpro · Mon Sep 11, 2017 04:34 AM UTC · #23112
so when you divide in the KW/H for the cost your paying for hosting, whats that add to the cost of the electric?
hashingpro · Mon Sep 11, 2017 04:35 AM UTC · #23113
like instead of paying .10 cents you are paying .5 but the hosting fee divided out equals another .5 per kw?
SpacedCowboy · Mon Sep 11, 2017 04:36 AM UTC · #23114
Electricity is $0.04, so, dividing out the cost gives hosting at $0.0225 per miner per month.
fire3916 · Mon Sep 11, 2017 04:36 AM UTC · #23115
SpacedCowboy wrote: Difference is about $3k/month in electricity for me. I pay $33/kwH in the Bay Area, in Canada it’s $0.04. PG&E sucks. I pay 0.27/kwh and im in the valley near sac
vinylwasp · Mon Sep 11, 2017 04:36 AM UTC · #23116
My hosting and support is included in the 0.06 per Kw/h and it’s calculated at 1.1 Kw per miner so 1.1*24*0.06=$1.58 per day to host an A4.
azrultebi · Mon Sep 11, 2017 04:36 AM UTC · #23117
i still cannot connect my L3+ to the pool... any help?
hashingpro · Mon Sep 11, 2017 04:36 AM UTC · #23118
@spaced is the .05 electric including the hosting or in addition to?
SpacedCowboy · Mon Sep 11, 2017 04:36 AM UTC · #23119
You can look at it as $0.0625 (assuming a 30-day month) all-in
vinylwasp · Mon Sep 11, 2017 04:36 AM UTC · #23120
Pool is sick. Could be Javapipe or poolside.
peepeepool · Mon Sep 11, 2017 04:37 AM UTC · #23121
.0579 here in great lakes area and it goes through my business... Swear to god I think I’m set up in the country’s poorest city lol.
peepeepool · Mon Sep 11, 2017 04:37 AM UTC · #23122
Must be all that cheap Niagara Falls power
SpacedCowboy · Mon Sep 11, 2017 04:37 AM UTC · #23123
$0.04 for electric, $0.0225 for hosting.
hashingpro · Mon Sep 11, 2017 04:38 AM UTC · #23125
You would be surprised, got a friend near buffalo and their power cost is like .22
SpacedCowboy · Mon Sep 11, 2017 04:38 AM UTC · #23127
@fire3916. Tell me about it. PG&E have had 2 (count them, 2) power cuts in the last 2 weeks. The last one was 25 hours long
hashingpro · Mon Sep 11, 2017 04:39 AM UTC · #23128
oh the server, bet steve is putting in the newest update
vinylwasp · Mon Sep 11, 2017 04:40 AM UTC · #23129
More like post implementation gremlins
SpacedCowboy · Mon Sep 11, 2017 04:40 AM UTC · #23130
Yay! For the first time in 30 mins, I can see figures per miner... well, apart from 1,2 and 7 that is.
hashingpro · Mon Sep 11, 2017 04:40 AM UTC · #23131
It's NOT a bug, it's just an undocumented FEATURE!
hashingpro · Mon Sep 11, 2017 04:41 AM UTC · #23134
yeah we all hope thats all it was
vinylwasp · Mon Sep 11, 2017 04:41 AM UTC · #23135
device cloaking - off course I knew there was a reason they were invisibile

The last one was 25 hours long i hate them so much. Its why i cant have a mining farm in my house cause if I go over 400% of my baseline, then i get a penalty power rate of 0.40/kwh. But if i open a mining farm in sacramento, SMUD only charges 0.17/kwh regardless of usage. Something tells me you and I are getting ripped off somewhere
fire3916 · Mon Sep 11, 2017 04:42 AM UTC · #23138
Dont know how i quoted 2 ppl there. Stupid phone
vinylwasp · Mon Sep 11, 2017 04:42 AM UTC · #23139
When i dived back in I knew I has to be big enought to get comnmercial rates.
hashingpro · Mon Sep 11, 2017 04:43 AM UTC · #23142
yep but my miners all seem to still be going on it.
SpacedCowboy · Mon Sep 11, 2017 04:43 AM UTC · #23143
Don’t get me started on PG&E, this has been a pleasant board up until now... Let’s just say that I’ve taken tomorrow off work, and I’ve got a contractor coming round to do a site inspection for a standby generator. Yes, in allegedly the world’s most technologically advanced nation, in the hotbed for technology in that nation, they CAN’T KEEP THE EFFING POWER ON. (and breathe)
sassoshots · Mon Sep 11, 2017 04:43 AM UTC · #23144
is it me or do you guys go through periods of your miner connecting and disconnecting from pool? (l3+)
vinylwasp · Mon Sep 11, 2017 04:44 AM UTC · #23149
My browser (haven’t refreshed for a while) is showing 112 miners. Moarr profits
vinylwasp · Mon Sep 11, 2017 04:45 AM UTC · #23151
Yep, just refreshed and boom - you’re dead
SpacedCowboy · Mon Sep 11, 2017 04:46 AM UTC · #23154
Assuming this is the new server code though, it’s sort of expected, yes ?
sassoshots · Mon Sep 11, 2017 04:46 AM UTC · #23155
man..hope this pool runs smoother soon
vinylwasp · Mon Sep 11, 2017 04:46 AM UTC · #23156
Mining may still be going on, but my miners have been up and down all day (4:46pm here)
hashingpro · Mon Sep 11, 2017 04:46 AM UTC · #23157
in as much as 'sometime overnight' can mean anytime after midnight I guess it was.
sassoshots · Mon Sep 11, 2017 04:47 AM UTC · #23158
yea i feel like they disconnect most around midnight
SpacedCowboy · Mon Sep 11, 2017 04:47 AM UTC · #23159
Probably safer to do any changes after the witching hour when all the payment calculations are done by
hashingpro · Mon Sep 11, 2017 04:48 AM UTC · #23160
Nahhh, all bank errors in their favor, they collect the $20. Do not pass go, do not collect $200.
SpacedCowboy · Mon Sep 11, 2017 04:48 AM UTC · #23161
Anyway, I’m up early tomorrow, and if the site’s down I can’t really monitor it. See y’all tomorrow...
sassoshots · Mon Sep 11, 2017 04:48 AM UTC · #23162
i feel like this pool is a gem i wish they would just close registration again lol until its smooth
hashingpro · Mon Sep 11, 2017 04:49 AM UTC · #23163
as long as the parallize code gets in before the oct shipment of L3+ start to go online it should handle it.
hashingpro · Mon Sep 11, 2017 04:56 AM UTC · #23165

sell your l3s and buy d3s... then sell those.. you will thank me $
sassoshots · Mon Sep 11, 2017 06:19 AM UTC · #23173
keep one of each to mine for fun lol but honestly the money to be made is in resale
hashingpro · Mon Sep 11, 2017 06:31 AM UTC · #23174
During the great gold rush, the people making the most, where the ones selling the picks and shovels.
hashingpro · Mon Sep 11, 2017 06:33 AM UTC · #23176
I'll want to check it another day to verify, but it looked like the expected payout per hash actually matched what i think I might be getting paid for the day.
