Worth talking to bitmain about it before warrenty expires?
nimbus · Mon Aug 14, 2017 05:08 PM UTC · #16096
failed pool status DEAD ! even with proxy
nimbus · Mon Aug 14, 2017 05:09 PM UTC · #16097
obviously PH is not for me
Mrrt · Mon Aug 14, 2017 05:09 PM UTC · #16098
@Raab LMFAO I wouldn’t trust the manufacturer to do jack
mycide · Mon Aug 14, 2017 05:09 PM UTC · #16099
when they make this chips, mass production they all get quciik benched with current to see how they perform they are then sorted by rating, some will overperform maybe 10% and they will be put aside, then ones perofmring on spot or just above sorts another. and so on, sub standard, and then the ones so bad they cant be used. this is how they sort out chips, so if they did it correctly all ur chips should be reasonably reliable, but if u try to put more hashing power out of a chip then it can handle, while the other chips sitting on same board can handle more, some chips will get errors.
mycide · Mon Aug 14, 2017 05:10 PM UTC · #16100
have no experience on how it effects lifespan on machine.
mycide · Mon Aug 14, 2017 05:11 PM UTC · #16101
i wouldnt think it would matter much as long as u dont keep cranking it
Mrrt · Mon Aug 14, 2017 05:12 PM UTC · #16102
In my experience, as soon as things start getting weird you can expect boards/parts to start dieing shortly thereafter
Raab · Mon Aug 14, 2017 05:12 PM UTC · #16103
right, so if I turn the ferquency up a bit it shouldn't effect it even though everyone says overclocking kills it?
Mrrt · Mon Aug 14, 2017 05:13 PM UTC · #16104
wouldn’t overclock unless I had AC going or super extra bonus fans exhausing hot air
Raab · Mon Aug 14, 2017 05:14 PM UTC · #16105
the temp readings on the antminer interface say my chips sit at roughly 61 degrees constantly
Raab · Mon Aug 14, 2017 05:14 PM UTC · #16106
if it is below 70 would that be an issue?
Mrrt · Mon Aug 14, 2017 05:15 PM UTC · #16107
I have read that 80 - 85 C shouldn’t be exceeded..
Raab · Mon Aug 14, 2017 05:15 PM UTC · #16108
I am moving to the Alps where it is average -20 degrees C for about 3/4 months and so looking to over clock then in about 5 months...
Mrrt · Mon Aug 14, 2017 05:15 PM UTC · #16109
Sound’s like you should be good
Mrrt · Mon Aug 14, 2017 05:17 PM UTC · #16110
I’m just a little concerned about being able to boil water on my ASIC’s LOL
Raab · Mon Aug 14, 2017 05:20 PM UTC · #16111
surely it cant be good for them to be run at 75 instead of 60 the whole time though?
wisdomofsol · Mon Aug 14, 2017 05:21 PM UTC · #16112
@Raab : once it reaches steady state and you keep it there is more important
wisdomofsol · Mon Aug 14, 2017 05:22 PM UTC · #16113
restart as little as possible to avoid expansion and contraction of the board which can cause more wear than simply overclocking them and leaving them be
piet · Mon Aug 14, 2017 05:23 PM UTC · #16114

I connected my miners back in today and I am monitoring the production.
mmfiore · Mon Aug 14, 2017 05:43 PM UTC · #16118
So far the stats do not look good.
mmfiore · Mon Aug 14, 2017 05:44 PM UTC · #16119
PH site says I should be generating a minimum of 150 dollars and a maximum conservative estimate of 185 dollars

52376 Unconfirmed Transactions Live updating list of new bitcoin transactions
mmfiore · Mon Aug 14, 2017 05:45 PM UTC · #16121
so far I am earning at a rate that will only generate 112 dollars per day. Something is still wrong.
mickeekung · Mon Aug 14, 2017 05:46 PM UTC · #16122
Not wonder why transaction comes slow than before.
mmfiore · Mon Aug 14, 2017 05:46 PM UTC · #16123
thats 30 73 dollars below what I should be earning
mmfiore · Mon Aug 14, 2017 05:47 PM UTC · #16124
I suggest that other people check what you are earning per hour and see if it is lower than what PH predicts.
Damito · Mon Aug 14, 2017 05:47 PM UTC · #16125
With 2 L3+ (~1GH/s total) I’ve seen just under 0.002BTC earned in 2hrs of uptime so far; extrapolating out will take me to ~0.024BTC/day which is lower than I’d prefer but seems fairly normal.
mmfiore · Mon Aug 14, 2017 05:48 PM UTC · #16126
I was getting double the income from other pools.
mickeekung · Mon Aug 14, 2017 05:50 PM UTC · #16127
@mmfiore Which pool? Nicehash?
Damito · Mon Aug 14, 2017 05:50 PM UTC · #16128
@mmfiore how are you calculating your earnings and estimated daily projections
mmfiore · Mon Aug 14, 2017 05:52 PM UTC · #16130
@damito according to my calculations PH predicts at 10.5 cents per mhs you will earn 150
Maxumark · Mon Aug 14, 2017 05:53 PM UTC · #16131
So nimbus Did you get them working?
mmfiore · Mon Aug 14, 2017 05:55 PM UTC · #16132
@ damito so what you are actualling earning is $4.32 an hour is 103.68
mmfiore · Mon Aug 14, 2017 05:55 PM UTC · #16133
you are nearly 50 dollars off
mmfiore · Mon Aug 14, 2017 05:56 PM UTC · #16134
now that is max value you can earn
Damito · Mon Aug 14, 2017 05:57 PM UTC · #16135
@mmfiore I do all my calcs in BTC because BTC/USD exchange changes so rapidly; with 1GH/s online, I should see ~0.024BTC today which is around $104.
mmfiore · Mon Aug 14, 2017 05:57 PM UTC · #16136
85 is the minimum you should earn
Damito · Mon Aug 14, 2017 05:58 PM UTC · #16137
PH past 7 days avg. daily per frontpage chart is ~0.0209BTC/day for 1GH/s scrypt online, so I’m trending above that and on par with NH past 24 hr daily avg (0.0233BTC per NH frontpage)
mmfiore · Mon Aug 14, 2017 05:59 PM UTC · #16138
Well I know that before the attacks on ph several weeks ago I was making between 200 and 300 and now am at about a 3rd of that.
mmfiore · Mon Aug 14, 2017 05:59 PM UTC · #16139
I averaged at 200 a day at nh
Damito · Mon Aug 14, 2017 06:00 PM UTC · #16140
That is fair, earnings used to be significantly higher across the board; on 7/23 I earned 0.040BTC on the same hashrate but with difficulty increasing across the board earnings everywhere are down significantly
nimbus · Mon Aug 14, 2017 06:01 PM UTC · #16141
yippe finally i connected one miner to PH
mmfiore · Mon Aug 14, 2017 06:01 PM UTC · #16142
What coin are you getting paid with.
Damito · Mon Aug 14, 2017 06:02 PM UTC · #16143
@mmfiore my payout is currently 100% BTC
Damito · Mon Aug 14, 2017 06:02 PM UTC · #16144
@nimbus congrats! Good news indeed.
nimbus · Mon Aug 14, 2017 06:02 PM UTC · #16145
guys do you know how to add multiple miner to PH ??
nimbus · Mon Aug 14, 2017 06:02 PM UTC · #16146
thanks mate i am so happy
mmfiore · Mon Aug 14, 2017 06:03 PM UTC · #16147
You are getting 100 dollars a day for 1 ghz that is not bad so I should be getting according to your calc about $230
nimbus · Mon Aug 14, 2017 06:03 PM UTC · #16148
but i have problem with add more miner
Damito · Mon Aug 14, 2017 06:03 PM UTC · #16149
@mmfiore but even if my payout were in other coins, need to identify a benchmark of some sort and using fiat is going to be rough because exchange rate swings so widely (esp when including various coins)
mmfiore · Mon Aug 14, 2017 06:03 PM UTC · #16150
I will see but so far that does not appear to be the case.
mmfiore · Mon Aug 14, 2017 06:04 PM UTC · #16151
earlier today I was getting bitconnect coin and the numbers were much worse so I switched to btc and things improved.
Damito · Mon Aug 14, 2017 06:05 PM UTC · #16152
Always variation, and possible my next few hours will suck and yours will be awesome.
Damito · Mon Aug 14, 2017 06:05 PM UTC · #16153
@nimbus what’s your issue with add’l miners?
mmfiore · Mon Aug 14, 2017 06:06 PM UTC · #16154
@nimbus just use different name for each miner in the password field
mmfiore · Mon Aug 14, 2017 06:07 PM UTC · #16155
"n=Miner1" is an example "n=Miner2" etc...
nimbus · Mon Aug 14, 2017 06:43 PM UTC · #16156
thanks guys obviously you have to use different names for each miner i finally added all miners to PH HAPPY

piet wrote: Raab wrote: then in about 5 months... running miners in the alps (? it isnt a country..) looks cool but humidity will kill the miners within 5 month really low humidity in the alp (french side) and very cold - so ideal
mmfiore · Mon Aug 14, 2017 07:14 PM UTC · #16158
If miners in a room then as they run the humidity will be removed from the room because of the heat they put out.
mycide · Mon Aug 14, 2017 07:25 PM UTC · #16159
yep, as long as you done replace that air with humid air from outside to fast, if you do so
Raab · Mon Aug 14, 2017 07:31 PM UTC · #16160
yea, but the outside air is very dry - even when it is snowing, humidity is generally very low so I think ideal for overclocking - keeping the temp down and getting more for your money. I am wondering whether to set it to 400 now instead of 384 for an extra 20MH
Raab · Mon Aug 14, 2017 07:32 PM UTC · #16161
found this from someone who has already done it: ASIC, Mhz Power, W Hash rate, MH/s 384 Mhz 740 W 502 MH/s 400 Mhz 760 W 523 MH/s 425 Mhz n.a. 555 MH/s 444 Mhz 850 W 580 MH/s 450 Mhz 860 W 590 MH/s 462 Mhz 888 W 605 MH/s

Yes there is definitely something wrong with the way bitconnect profit is calculated.
mmfiore · Mon Aug 14, 2017 07:36 PM UTC · #16164
I am getting much better numbers just by collecting btc
mmfiore · Mon Aug 14, 2017 07:37 PM UTC · #16165
I am now up to 142 dollars projected but I should be getting a little more than 200 by my reckoning.
mmfiore · Mon Aug 14, 2017 07:39 PM UTC · #16166
I will keep checking. I am now wondering if different coins are more profitable than others here on PH
Raab · Mon Aug 14, 2017 07:40 PM UTC · #16167
What have you got? 3 L3+?
wisdomofsol · Mon Aug 14, 2017 07:43 PM UTC · #16168

hey i think theres an issue with the live profiability and shares count
GregoryGHarding · Mon Aug 14, 2017 08:23 PM UTC · #16171
is there share corrections being calculated?
Raab · Mon Aug 14, 2017 08:27 PM UTC · #16172
God I hate crypto -.- Been holding a shitty coin for months thinking it might go upon the off chance. Decide to give up this morning. Sell it at a bit of a loss to change to something else and literally within an hour of selling it the coin I owned for months pumps up by 40%... FML.
siberianbreaks · Mon Aug 14, 2017 08:28 PM UTC · #16173
that suck Raab, happen to me several times
Raab · Mon Aug 14, 2017 08:33 PM UTC · #16174
I;m giving up with trading. Just going to hold! too stressful for nothing.
Raab · Mon Aug 14, 2017 08:35 PM UTC · #16175
I'll invest on trying to buy more miners :p
Skarda · Mon Aug 14, 2017 08:35 PM UTC · #16176
I switched to PH about 3 weeks ago and have noticed about a 20% better payout than litcoinpool.org. This is great, However I also own one baikal cube X11 300MH which I moved from coinotron. I havent seen any extra punch on PH for that rig. anyone else notice that?
GregoryGHarding · Mon Aug 14, 2017 08:41 PM UTC · #16177
my rule of thumb is if im going to hold with the expectation of growth, i will hold for two years, unless coin dies in that time, or a press release has news to come, i will dump after 2 years
GregoryGHarding · Mon Aug 14, 2017 08:41 PM UTC · #16178
@Raab : if you havnt started holding PIVX, you should
vhmanu · Mon Aug 14, 2017 08:42 PM UTC · #16179
agree. PIVX has potential
Raab · Mon Aug 14, 2017 08:44 PM UTC · #16180
Dont have any PIVX at the moment. Currently have BTC, BCH, ETH, LTC, ARK, GOLEM, ARAGON, AMP
Raab · Mon Aug 14, 2017 08:45 PM UTC · #16181
PIVX is on a bit of a downward run at the moment by the looks of it
Raab · Mon Aug 14, 2017 08:52 PM UTC · #16182
What is so special about it? Just a more anonymous/private coin?
GregoryGHarding · Mon Aug 14, 2017 09:16 PM UTC · #16183

one of the share inserter is getting behind
Steve Sokolowski · Mon Aug 14, 2017 10:27 PM UTC · #16186
I figured out the share inserter issue - it’s a memory leak that causes the routine that cleans up the memory to take progressively longer and longer
Steve Sokolowski · Mon Aug 14, 2017 10:28 PM UTC · #16187
when it crashes, those shares will be resent to one of the operators where I fixed the bug and everything will restart with the new code
vhmanu · Mon Aug 14, 2017 10:31 PM UTC · #16188
thx for the Info Steve. However one question. The share inseter that is behind has shown a profitability of ~6c for the last 2 hours. Not more and not less. Do we get credited the real amount or the wrong 6c?
mycide · Mon Aug 14, 2017 10:37 PM UTC · #16189
So we got more missing shares today to be credited? again it looks like i last ecieved share 6 hours ago, altough earning counting atm.
Steve Sokolowski · Mon Aug 14, 2017 10:41 PM UTC · #16190
as far as I can tell, those are actual numbers
