when the stratum was dead your miner worked on the back up like clevermining or nicehash
Raab · Sun Aug 13, 2017 07:25 PM UTC · #15696
ah right, yea makes sense
jkleohart22193 · Sun Aug 13, 2017 07:25 PM UTC · #15697
or in the case of sha 256 slush pool or eligius
jkleohart22193 · Sun Aug 13, 2017 07:25 PM UTC · #15698
You always made more renting rigs
Raab · Sun Aug 13, 2017 07:26 PM UTC · #15699
no, people who rent rigs off of miners. Why would you rent a rig off of someone?
jkleohart22193 · Sun Aug 13, 2017 07:26 PM UTC · #15700
my rigs stayed rented like 90% of the time
jkleohart22193 · Sun Aug 13, 2017 07:26 PM UTC · #15701
people rented to make new coins
jkleohart22193 · Sun Aug 13, 2017 07:27 PM UTC · #15703
a lot of folks in 3rd world countries have very expensive and unreliable electricity or electricity capacity
jkleohart22193 · Sun Aug 13, 2017 07:27 PM UTC · #15704
or a college kid needed to make a decentralized network mine his coin
jkleohart22193 · Sun Aug 13, 2017 07:28 PM UTC · #15705
who is renting nice hash power?
jkleohart22193 · Sun Aug 13, 2017 07:28 PM UTC · #15707
It was cool and profittable for sure
Raab · Sun Aug 13, 2017 07:29 PM UTC · #15708
yea course...but obviously more profitable to own a rig and mine yourself
jkleohart22193 · Sun Aug 13, 2017 07:29 PM UTC · #15709
fun too because you could chat with the renter
jkleohart22193 · Sun Aug 13, 2017 07:29 PM UTC · #15710
they would sometimes tell you the coin they were about to pump
CNPurvis · Sun Aug 13, 2017 07:30 PM UTC · #15711
Brand-new miner getting started.
Raab · Sun Aug 13, 2017 07:31 PM UTC · #15713
Yea sounds good. more friendly version of NH i suppose
CNPurvis · Sun Aug 13, 2017 07:32 PM UTC · #15714
I wanted to make a post describing my setup and asking for help, but can’t see where to do so.
GregoryGHarding · Sun Aug 13, 2017 07:33 PM UTC · #15715
support and feedback would be the best place
GregoryGHarding · Sun Aug 13, 2017 07:33 PM UTC · #15716
also read the overview of support options if youd like to join the slack server
Steve Sokolowski · Sun Aug 13, 2017 07:38 PM UTC · #15717
trying a restart to fix a WAMP disconnect issue
Steve Sokolowski · Sun Aug 13, 2017 07:38 PM UTC · #15718
I think that we can significantly reduce the number of WAMP disconnects with this
Steve Sokolowski · Sun Aug 13, 2017 07:40 PM UTC · #15719
need to find my slash invite somewhere
Steve Sokolowski · Sun Aug 13, 2017 07:40 PM UTC · #15720
might be another way to announce restarts

Raab wrote: But surely there could be a lot of downtime? I don’t get people who rent rigs...how do they make money off of it? Youd be surprised
Raab · Sun Aug 13, 2017 07:51 PM UTC · #15722
about what? How they are making money?
Steve Sokolowski · Sun Aug 13, 2017 07:52 PM UTC · #15723
looks like this might have solved the WAMP disconnects problem, at least until more customers arrive
JKDReaper · Sun Aug 13, 2017 07:52 PM UTC · #15725
I rent from MRR several times a day, and make, let’s call it enough. Saving for my own obviously also
JKDReaper · Sun Aug 13, 2017 07:55 PM UTC · #15726
@Raab : Its like anything you do...There’s ways you can figure out to do it better than the guy who owns it. I point my rentals at several pools, and have only not hit roi 2x in a couple months. And the renter can usually get better rate than mining on their own. Its a win win
Forum notification · Sun Aug 13, 2017 07:57 PM UTC · #15727
Raab · Sun Aug 13, 2017 07:57 PM UTC · #15728
hmm, whats more profitable mining wise than mining on here? If you are paying rental costs and then pointing the miner here, why wouldn't someone just point it here in the first place? I can only see it if you are mining for the coin instead...
Steve Sokolowski · Sun Aug 13, 2017 07:58 PM UTC · #15730
the WAMP server keeps disconnecting for an unknown reason
Steve Sokolowski · Sun Aug 13, 2017 07:58 PM UTC · #15732
I can’t figure out why the server is disconnecting, but I can deal with what happens if it does
pumaro · Sun Aug 13, 2017 07:59 PM UTC · #15733
any chance you can add NEO coin?
JKDReaper · Sun Aug 13, 2017 08:00 PM UTC · #15734
@Raab : I’ll have to call it "trade secrets"...Or i wouldn’t have rigs to rent cuz they would do it. But it is possible to make more than you’d imagine
JKDReaper · Sun Aug 13, 2017 08:01 PM UTC · #15735
Steve Sokolowski wrote: the WAMP server keeps disconnecting for an unknown reason Is this what is happening when all the coins on status page disappear and come back?
pumaro · Sun Aug 13, 2017 08:01 PM UTC · #15737
oh server disconnecting, who is your provider if its verizon I could have someone look into it
pumaro · Sun Aug 13, 2017 08:04 PM UTC · #15738
I’m glad I own some NEO but damn why is it going balistic?
mmfiore · Sun Aug 13, 2017 08:04 PM UTC · #15739
It is China’s equivalent to ethereum
GregoryGHarding · Sun Aug 13, 2017 08:05 PM UTC · #15740
@pumaro : theres a requests topic on coin additions , post your requests there. chat truncates often your request may be forgotten
mmfiore · Sun Aug 13, 2017 08:05 PM UTC · #15741
and it pays divend in its wallet
Steve Sokolowski · Sun Aug 13, 2017 08:05 PM UTC · #15742
restart in about 30 minutes to fix a major issue
pumaro · Sun Aug 13, 2017 08:05 PM UTC · #15743
I thought ANS was owned by bitmain but then it changed to NEO snd went bonkers
whitenoise · Sun Aug 13, 2017 08:13 PM UTC · #15745
@Steve Sokolowski : Steve, why do not they pay today? On the balance i see "Payout eligible: 0.74745731"
Raab · Sun Aug 13, 2017 08:14 PM UTC · #15746
I had a 100 NEO....bought at $5. Sold at $16....should have kept it...bollocks.
mmfiore · Sun Aug 13, 2017 08:16 PM UTC · #15747
I had same amount and still holding > ithink it may go beyond a hundred a coin
mmfiore · Sun Aug 13, 2017 08:19 PM UTC · #15749
Hopefully this fixes the problem. Fingers crossed.
Steve Sokolowski · Sun Aug 13, 2017 08:22 PM UTC · #15751
but this is an extremely complex system and there will always be problems, it’s just a matter of keeping them low enough
mmfiore · Sun Aug 13, 2017 08:23 PM UTC · #15752
You guys should hire a full time programmer
mmfiore · Sun Aug 13, 2017 08:24 PM UTC · #15753
I know a good one. He is the best programmer I have ever seen. And I have seen a lot of ’em

Jalapan · Sun Aug 13, 2017 08:26 PM UTC · #15755
@Steve do you know when Chris will issues balance fix?
Steve Sokolowski · Sun Aug 13, 2017 08:28 PM UTC · #15759
coins that haven’t paid out on Wednesday
Steve Sokolowski · Sun Aug 13, 2017 08:28 PM UTC · #15760
I think that bitconnectcoins and some others are stuck
Jalapan · Sun Aug 13, 2017 08:29 PM UTC · #15761
im not based in US how many hours you think?
Jalapan · Sun Aug 13, 2017 08:32 PM UTC · #15764
what about live balance?
Jalapan · Sun Aug 13, 2017 08:33 PM UTC · #15767
yeah its fine now i guess but ive earned like 20$ less then i should have according to live balance
citronick · Sun Aug 13, 2017 08:33 PM UTC · #15769
steve - business back to normal?
Steve Sokolowski · Sun Aug 13, 2017 08:34 PM UTC · #15771
not quite - there is still one more fix I can do, but I think the shares problems are resolved
Steve Sokolowski · Sun Aug 13, 2017 08:35 PM UTC · #15772
all of the issues are due to the WAMP server being overloaded
Steve Sokolowski · Sun Aug 13, 2017 08:35 PM UTC · #15773
it’s shocking how much demand there is for that server
Steve Sokolowski · Sun Aug 13, 2017 08:35 PM UTC · #15774
the solution might be to kill live balances
whitenoise · Sun Aug 13, 2017 08:35 PM UTC · #15775
Steve Sokolowski wrote: live balances should be fine Steve, i have a problem with live balance. Does’t have today payout
Steve Sokolowski · Sun Aug 13, 2017 08:35 PM UTC · #15776
until we can devote time to parallelizing the realms
GregoryGHarding · Sun Aug 13, 2017 08:35 PM UTC · #15777
what about temporarly killing api access
Jalapan · Sun Aug 13, 2017 08:36 PM UTC · #15778
the live balance delayed would fix nicehash bots aswell?
Steve Sokolowski · Sun Aug 13, 2017 08:36 PM UTC · #15780
that’s why we would kill live balances
Steve Sokolowski · Sun Aug 13, 2017 08:37 PM UTC · #15781
the data the bots use is very small
Jalapan · Sun Aug 13, 2017 08:37 PM UTC · #15783
make livebalance only update every 5minutes or so?
whitenoise · Sun Aug 13, 2017 08:39 PM UTC · #15784
i have "Payout eligible: 0.74745731" for all day, but dont payout. Its only my problem or not?
GregoryGHarding · Sun Aug 13, 2017 08:45 PM UTC · #15786
@whitenoise : payouts are run once a day, usually early in the morning EST. if youre currently waiting on a specific coin that hasnt paid out in the last few days, some coins are stuck, and will be fixed on wednesday.
wisdomofsol · Sun Aug 13, 2017 08:46 PM UTC · #15787
live balance updates every 5 minutes along with a running average for todays expected payout per Mh/s would be killer!!
mmfiore · Sun Aug 13, 2017 08:48 PM UTC · #15788
yes showing the average for the last 3 hours would be great
mycide · Sun Aug 13, 2017 08:50 PM UTC · #15789
live balances doesnt need to update every few seconds, its enough with once every few minutes.
mmfiore · Sun Aug 13, 2017 08:52 PM UTC · #15791
update every 30 seconds would be good
Steve Sokolowski · Sun Aug 13, 2017 08:52 PM UTC · #15792
I think that most issues are resolved, and one more restart will put an end to most issues
mmfiore · Sun Aug 13, 2017 08:53 PM UTC · #15794
I will give it a try first thing Monday morning...
