Right now it seems the rejects and negative delta is over 20% for some reason. Don’t know what changed from last night until now but NiceHash is currently unprofitable with that.
@BehindTheGnoll : too much of a vague question. what do you want to mine..whats your budget, what type of mining do you want to do? if you dont know the answers to these questions, its best you research cryptocurrency mining on scrypt and x11 algorithms first
I have noticed all of my zeus type pieces are down in their total MH.... for instance a group that got 75~ will now get 60~65... A standalone piece that usually puts out 40~+/-1 is now doing about 32-35... i have tried messing with difficulties. If i go to my fail over pool it will hash fine. Also have been getting some slow starts where it looks like it accepts a couple shares (even at a 768 or 512 diff) and then freezes for a minute or two until the next block is achieved then it will go but still slowww and far from max potential

We moved our mining server to much faster hardware. It’s possible that our slow server was responsible for a portion of the work restart times. With a faster server, work restart times may have gone down, resulting in more frequent coin switches. You might need to change some password arguments to compensate if it is losing you money.
vanessa i second your observations btw... but only on some of the units.... others are performing like nothing ever happened... profit is lower but i think its market driven
game coin seem to be higher returns outside of prohash right now? mhash right now gets more btc than the figure on top of this page. Or is my maths way out?
Steve/Chris... can you comment on this? If we do m=pps c=gamecoin or c=bitcoinconnect since the earnings seem to spike with this coin, if we choose to mine it do we get any benenfit or is any m=pps share equal to any other? Thanks!
No idea what has happened since the last round of upgrades and move to the new mining server, but the results today are so bad I can’t continue until some strong evidence that the problems have been identified and resolved.
FRISK, I think its more than you guys renting... a few of my rigs are def. down as well since the upgrade. But i think it might be like specific versions of the mining software or something more basic relative to the machines themselves because about half of my power comes from innosilicon devices and i must admit they are working perfectly or close enough i cant tell
Am inclined to agree, and as Nicehash is constantly cycling in new miners you end up with quite a mix in your order. Still it was profitable before, and now it results in significant loss post upgrade, and if you guys with HW miners are feeling it too I’m sure Chris and Steve will consider it priority to sort out.
ups if you dont mind me asking did you order direct from them? april time frame? I am kicking myself in the ass for not snapping them up when i saw them going for 1500
as far as my opinion, I agree it was doing a lot better before the upgrade, I also worry about the stats from the WAMP I notice a lot of the time the webpage and the stats aren’t close. I do feel before was going better, I am sure they will get it figured out though.
My loss was easy to calculate when using Nicehash, I know what I loaded up my orders with and compare that to end of day earnings - before the upgrade I was excited to be making a profit, since the upgrade and especially the past 2 days I have lost money, no matter which of the optimizations I tried via password arguments. Today was simply brutal though, 40% loss and the puzzling thing is that I watched closely today and very few rejects, very low penalties, almost no delta all day, but the earnings just weren’t adding up for some reason.
But I wasn’t getting rejected and very few stale shares, nothing in any of the parameters that are monitored indicated a serious problem of any kind. The profits from mining simply didn’t pile up, they trickled in so slowly that by the time my order ended I was down 40% , yesterday was a fairly big loss as well, but I thought maybe I had selected the wrong coin, so I returned to Bitconnectcoin today and still lost profits.
steve already mentioned the loss in profit maybe due to the speed increase on the mining servers ability to process shares. they said try setting your h= arg higher
I dont know, I really didnt have any negative delta the last couple , I think the WAMP output needs a timestamp field just to make sure, I am basing my decisions on it, sometimes I see it high on the stream but on website it is low, both updating
i re-read the documentation about the h= parameter and it specifically says that it will cause your profitability to go down slightly in and of itself and says really only cloud miners (which i am not) should use it. Given the circumstances though, I will try this on a few of my more troublesome miners and will report back, starting with an h=100 value
It’s also worth mentioning we were mining the Gamecredit bubble for the past week or two, and that bubble seems to have calmed down a bit in the past few days resulting in more coin switches and lower profitability. Something completely out of our control unfortunately.
chris, i think i have the answer to whats going on here perhaps. I have tested this with a standalone zeus piece doing about 40 megahashes. If you still have yours, connect, and watch it closely. You will get a few shares maybe 6 or 7... then the block will switch then it will hang, it hangs for about 30~45 seconds, no work going in or out is discernable
before in the chat. Also, and this is very interesting... I have looked at the MH output now vs before and it is 9.1 10 and 9.6 % with all three pieces off of its former height.
Hi guys, isn’t the "payout eligible" supposed to increase at the same time as the account total? I am afraid I screwed something up when I set the payout lower than the network minimum.
My miners like low-difficulty shares (or at least, it seemed to work okay) but when the last site upgrade went in, the static diff of 512 resulted in frequent restarts, "old" blocks, and stale shares. I bumped it up to 1024 last night, and it’s since been hashing steadily without any problems (that’s about 15h14m as of this comment)
@Chris Sokolowski (and the previous comment also), that is to say, the frequent restarts made both bfgminer and my little gridseeds quite unhappy. the higher difficulty seems to be doing the trick.
