ProHashing and "Mining Rig Rentals"

Post by Hordacek » Sat Feb 03, 2018 10:17 am

Hi, I have 2 questions:

1. How to be profitable using "Mining Rig Rentals"? Before the last change (limiting the change of the coin to 2 mins) I switched profitable coins and I was very profitable, but today I am very lossy ...

2. How exactly does the coin change after 2 minutes? I change coin, wait 2 minutes + few seconds, change coin, and disconnect ...

Thank you for answer.

profit is split evenly across all miners, regardless of what you mine, so you aren't losing any money
Maybe they changed up the way it works?
But if this is true then they shouldnt need c= settings for password it should all be solo or all be autoswitch.

Something is still off if they allow c= settings then the pool isnt hitting those coins normally.
So I still think profits are being lost if the only way to hit the big coins is to do so manually.

I'm sorry to hear that you were affected.

We had to make the change because people who were switching coins using automated software were cutting into the profitability of other miners. You can still use Mining Rig Rentals to mine here if you'd like, but you'll need to either pick a single coin to mine, or not select any coin and allow the mining server to automatically switch to the most profitable coins.

I think mining-rig-rentals only has a limit number of incoming IPs for their services to connect in from.

Just from what I've been noticing. If I login to my machine locally I can pick a new coin every 2 minutes and few seconds.
If I use my MRR so I can control where my miner is remotely which is what I wanted to do, not have to login to the remote network to control it all day long, then I cant switch coins on prohashing. Even if I do get 1 coin to mine, and I wait 4 minutes before I pick my next coin, I still get disconnected and go to a backup pool. Think only 1 time have I been able to swap from 1 coin to another coin and not been kicked.

So even if you wait 2 minutes, 3 minutes, 4 minutes, if someone else on one of your same incoming connections has already swapped in the last 2 minutes, you get disconnected. Selecting a 2 minute timeout by account or something else might allow MRR to still work, but as it is now, anyone using that service or buying service from them is likely going to find themselves either using autopool or disconnected to a failover pool.

Doesn't seem to matter what their rollover is from MRR.
The admins here are blocking the IPs for 2 at a time.

I've waited 5 minutes, 7 minutes, 10 minutes 15 minutes...doesn't really seem to matter.
On local network, its 2 mins and a few seconds and I have no issues.
Through mining-rig-rentals...can't pick static coins but once in a blue moon now.

Guess if I want to do static coin mining I just have to be at home on the network.
I dont want to be remoteing in and opening that hole just to switch coins on my machine, pass.
