pay for my electric and rent on the place
greenhorn0815 · Mon Dec 04, 2017 03:34 AM UTC · #53290
do you think a residential 12 gauge in the wall can be overheated with 1 L3+ not overclocked over time?
AppleMiner · Mon Dec 04, 2017 03:34 AM UTC · #53292
its not the guage of the wire
AppleMiner · Mon Dec 04, 2017 03:34 AM UTC · #53293
its how many amps on the circut
AppleMiner · Mon Dec 04, 2017 03:35 AM UTC · #53295
and how many arein use / free total
greenhorn0815 · Mon Dec 04, 2017 03:35 AM UTC · #53300
decicated outlets for each miner
AppleMiner · Mon Dec 04, 2017 03:36 AM UTC · #53306
and the L3+s run 800 watts give or take
AppleMiner · Mon Dec 04, 2017 03:37 AM UTC · #53309
so you only want to run 1 PER curcuit
crika1 · Mon Dec 04, 2017 03:37 AM UTC · #53310
@AppleMiner : </strong> received an L3+ yesterday 3 boards show 0 HW erros in 24 hours and one board shows 2500 lol, the % is at 0.5% is that abnormal?
AppleMiner · Mon Dec 04, 2017 03:37 AM UTC · #53311
Yes sounds like you have a bad board, or it isnt plugged in all the way
AppleMiner · Mon Dec 04, 2017 03:37 AM UTC · #53313
or you need to downclock it and see if it stablizes
AppleMiner · Mon Dec 04, 2017 03:37 AM UTC · #53314
does it have all XXXXXXX on that board
crika1 · Mon Dec 04, 2017 03:38 AM UTC · #53315
i haven’t oc’d it at all, it was at normal speed
AppleMiner · Mon Dec 04, 2017 03:38 AM UTC · #53316
check your power plugs, use other powers, make sure the white ribbon is on tight
crika1 · Mon Dec 04, 2017 03:38 AM UTC · #53317
nope no XXXX, alll 000000 lol
greenhorn0815 · Mon Dec 04, 2017 03:38 AM UTC · #53319
could be a loose chip, had one of these too
AppleMiner · Mon Dec 04, 2017 03:38 AM UTC · #53320
for the boar dwith the HW errors?
crika1 · Mon Dec 04, 2017 03:39 AM UTC · #53324
i’ll have a look at the power plugs when i get home, yeah it does show 125 hash
crika1 · Mon Dec 04, 2017 03:39 AM UTC · #53326
yeah its def the updated software as the fk%$%$ fan is a lot noiser then the other L3+ from the oct batch
AppleMiner · Mon Dec 04, 2017 03:39 AM UTC · #53327
contact bitmain get a replacement swapped for it
AppleMiner · Mon Dec 04, 2017 03:40 AM UTC · #53330
but...mine only run at 3500s
crika1 · Mon Dec 04, 2017 03:40 AM UTC · #53331
yeah i sent them a msg god, knows when they will reply
AppleMiner · Mon Dec 04, 2017 03:40 AM UTC · #53332
and arent that louad at all
crika1 · Mon Dec 04, 2017 03:40 AM UTC · #53333
nah this one is running around the 3900, while the other one is around 3300-3500
AppleMiner · Mon Dec 04, 2017 03:40 AM UTC · #53334
but the temp for the air intake side is like 50' so doesnt need to blow hot air out as much
crika1 · Mon Dec 04, 2017 03:40 AM UTC · #53335
and the temps are lower because the fan is a at higher rpm
crika1 · Mon Dec 04, 2017 03:41 AM UTC · #53336
i have read that the new firmware they use now has a higher speed fan compared to the older firmware
AppleMiner · Mon Dec 04, 2017 03:41 AM UTC · #53337
id log into bitmain and put a order in for it
AppleMiner · Mon Dec 04, 2017 03:41 AM UTC · #53338
in a day they send you the RMA
AppleMiner · Mon Dec 04, 2017 03:42 AM UTC · #53339
you package up the board sent it to CA in 5-7 days get it back plug it back in
AppleMiner · Mon Dec 04, 2017 03:42 AM UTC · #53340
run it with 3 boards in the meantime
crika1 · Mon Dec 04, 2017 03:42 AM UTC · #53341
i am located in australia, so might have to send it to HK
greenhorn0815 · Mon Dec 04, 2017 03:42 AM UTC · #53342
yeah, but u need a tracking number beforehand, or while you fill out the ticket
crika1 · Mon Dec 04, 2017 03:42 AM UTC · #53343
do i create a fault ticket? (sorry to ask never had to do this with bitmain before)
AppleMiner · Mon Dec 04, 2017 03:43 AM UTC · #53344
is this a new one they sent you
crika1 · Mon Dec 04, 2017 03:44 AM UTC · #53346
nah new one they sent me
AppleMiner · Mon Dec 04, 2017 03:44 AM UTC · #53347
and TBH unless you have chips with Xs they likely wont touch it
crika1 · Mon Dec 04, 2017 03:44 AM UTC · #53348
mind you there was shitload of dust build up on the fan lol
AppleMiner · Mon Dec 04, 2017 03:44 AM UTC · #53349
HW errors arent a reason for an exchange i dont think
crika1 · Mon Dec 04, 2017 03:44 AM UTC · #53350
yeah bugger it then, ill just keep mining with it like it is atm
brosh · Mon Dec 04, 2017 03:44 AM UTC · #53351
how much is an L3 making per day here over the past week?
crika1 · Mon Dec 04, 2017 03:45 AM UTC · #53353
i am getting around the $17-18
greenhorn0815 · Mon Dec 04, 2017 03:45 AM UTC · #53355
Yeah pure HW errors dont qualify, but who said you did not see some xxxx, hnestly , they dont check, they receive and send you a repaired one back, not yours, they just put a sticker with the serial # on it
greenhorn0815 · Mon Dec 04, 2017 03:46 AM UTC · #53356
The ones i got back are V1.1 and they dont like to be OCed
greenhorn0815 · Mon Dec 04, 2017 03:46 AM UTC · #53358
even slight OC triggers tons of HW
AppleMiner · Mon Dec 04, 2017 03:46 AM UTC · #53359
can also always downclock it a notch
AppleMiner · Mon Dec 04, 2017 03:46 AM UTC · #53360
maybe instead of the default 384 make it 1 or 2 lower
greenhorn0815 · Mon Dec 04, 2017 03:46 AM UTC · #53361
i though that too when i had a similar problem, downclocking, depends on the frequency can also trigger tons of HW
AppleMiner · Mon Dec 04, 2017 03:47 AM UTC · #53363
instead of hashing at 500 it may go at 494 but if it gets rid of the errors, you may get high hash credit on the pools for finding more shares than stales
AppleMiner · Mon Dec 04, 2017 03:47 AM UTC · #53364
its a blaance between OCing and errors
crika1 · Mon Dec 04, 2017 03:47 AM UTC · #53365
ok ill try that and see how that goes
AppleMiner · Mon Dec 04, 2017 03:48 AM UTC · #53366
if you are putting in more power but getting more errors as a result you are just tossing money in the air
AppleMiner · Mon Dec 04, 2017 03:48 AM UTC · #53367
has to be worth while power/watt/hash ratio or dont bother.
crika1 · Mon Dec 04, 2017 03:48 AM UTC · #53368
ill try turning it down 1 or 2 and see what affect that has on the board with the errors
greenhorn0815 · Mon Dec 04, 2017 03:52 AM UTC · #53369
i get around 200-300 HW’s per miner per 24hrs, only the last batch 6 has 0 or at least shows 0
crika1 · Mon Dec 04, 2017 03:57 AM UTC · #53370
yeah my last one received the other day, 0 on all 3 board and one board 2500 lol
AppleMiner · Mon Dec 04, 2017 03:57 AM UTC · #53371
whats your nonce percents at?
greenhorn0815 · Mon Dec 04, 2017 03:59 AM UTC · #53372
try to switch the data cable and see if the error replicates with another board
AppleMiner · Mon Dec 04, 2017 04:00 AM UTC · #53373
on the status page there is a NONCE %
AppleMiner · Mon Dec 04, 2017 04:00 AM UTC · #53374
with 300 HW errors in 24 hours just wondering what the nonce % is at
AppleMiner · Mon Dec 04, 2017 04:00 AM UTC · #53375
and what your efficnet on the pool is at
crika1 · Mon Dec 04, 2017 04:00 AM UTC · #53379
ill get the misses to send me a screenshot (i am at work atm cant login to the miners )
greenhorn0815 · Mon Dec 04, 2017 04:00 AM UTC · #53380
nonce for this miner is 0.0332%
crika1 · Mon Dec 04, 2017 04:01 AM UTC · #53382
greenhorn0815 wrote: try to switch the data cable and see if the error replicates with another board ok will try that as well, thank you
greenhorn0815 · Mon Dec 04, 2017 04:01 AM UTC · #53383
also, just in case u do, dont put them sideways
crika1 · Mon Dec 04, 2017 04:02 AM UTC · #53384
nah they are standing upgright like they are meant to do hehehe
AppleMiner · Mon Dec 04, 2017 04:03 AM UTC · #53385
put what sideways, the powers or miners?
greenhorn0815 · Mon Dec 04, 2017 04:03 AM UTC · #53386
i had one miner, where the profile distance from slot to slot was off and the chips came to close to each other sideways, cost me a hashboard
greenhorn0815 · Mon Dec 04, 2017 04:03 AM UTC · #53387
the miners, if you put them sideways you can staple up to 3-4 in a row
