Obviously these settings do cause a bit of rise in the stale shares, but I’ve found that if you can suppress the fast coin switching enough to not pay a lot of "extra rewards" (Nicehash penalties) while still allowing a reasonable level of coin switching, those moments of increased profitability do outweigh the lost profits from stale shares.

FRISKIE · · #3970

@ Steve/Chris - do you guys have a task that triggers at 06:00 EST on the mining server? I’ve noticed that any time I’m unlucky enough to be mining at that time there is a sharp rise in stale and rejected shares at that time.

I neglected to mention that the disruption lasts for about 10 minutes. Please check if you have a task(s) that trigger at that time and potentially overload the mining server while they execute.

Did anyone try a=11 d=0.1 h=1000 g=off for X11 yet?

tmopar · · #3974

Theres another problem im sorry to say... its not a bad one I guess but if you set a payout threshold higher for bitcoin it will work (I did so last week to .10) and it paid out after it hit .10 just like I expected... I raised my LTC to 4 minimum payout and last night and tonight I got a few LTC and no 4 coin single payment, I dont think its working for litecoin for some reason or maybe its the amount I put in. Can anyone else confirm this behavior with other payout coins?

is d=2048 good for A2 (110mh/s) here?

mjgraham · · #3979

n00bminer wrote: is d=2048 good for A2 (110mh/s) here?
if it were me i wpuld do 1024 or 512

n00bminer · · #3980

thank you!

n00bminer · · #3981

set them to 512 to test, had at 1024, then 2048, let the pool decide (jumped to 8192)

tmopar · · #3982

you make more per share at the higher diffs

tmopar · · #3983

you only loose out if you set a diff too slow to get any shares between coin switches

tmopar · · #3984

512 is the slowest, for your piece and i own several, I would recommend a 4096 or 2048 diff

GregoryGHarding · · #3985

how do i set static diff on x11

so the blocks found section... do you get extra for finding a block?

Steve Sokolowski · · #3989

Only if you are solo mining. In pay-per-share mining, you give up the bonus for finding a block in exchange for consistent profit.

ah okayt

so do i just pass the M argument

Steve Sokolowski · · #3993

web3 wrote: so do i just pass the M argument
If you want to do solo mining, then yes, you can use m=solo. But solo mining will never be as profitable as automatic coin switching. Use solo mining if you want to try to play the lottery to get lucky or to support a particular coin network.

n00bminer · · #3994

Steve what diff do you suggest for A2’s for most profit

Steve Sokolowski · · #3995

n00bminer wrote: Steve what diff do you suggest for A2’s for most profit
I don’t own one of those, so I don’t know. Perhaps someone else can offer advice.

n00bminer · · #3996

Do you have an L3+?

UPSoft · · #3997

@Steve Sokolowski i have 9xL3+ and use "a=scrypt n=worker1" is that ok or i can go better?

n00bminer · · #3998

drool. I hope to place an order wednesday

UPSoft · · #3999

n00bminer · · #4000

so precious!

n00bminer · · #4001

hopefully I can get on the end of august batch wednesday

UPSoft · · #4002

btw still no payout today... strange

web3 · · #4003

if i want to mine solo how can i specify this with my mining software... i cant seem to get anything to work

n00bminer · · #4004

m=solo doesn’t work?

web3 · · #4005

okay so you cannot use solo mode then?

n00bminer · · #4006

no I was asking

n00bminer · · #4007

I would specify coin and m=solo

web3 · · #4008

i’m trying to use ccminer-x64 on windows and i cannot seem to get the argument to work

n00bminer · · #4009

are they in quotes? "m=solo a=scrypt d=512" etc

web3 · · #4010

hold on this is what i have

web3 · · #4011

ccminer-x64.exe -a x11 -o stratum+tcp://prohashing.com:3333 -u wbullockiii -p a=x11 m=solo

web3 · · #4012

I’ve also tried this way to

web3 · · #4013

ccminer-x64.exe -a x11 -o stratum+tcp://prohashing.com:3333 -u wbullockiii -p a=x11 -m=solo

n00bminer · · #4014

try this ccminer-x64.exe -a x11 -o stratum+tcp://prohashing.com:3333 -u wbullockiii -p "a=x11 m=solo"

web3 · · #4015

okay

web3 · · #4016

just sec

web3 · · #4017

okay seemed to have taken the argument but in my miner it still shows pay per share mode

n00bminer · · #4018

how about on the webpage? the miner may not understand since you are connected to a stratum

web3 · · #4019

hmmm weird

web3 · · #4020

i wonder if i need to use the coin option too

n00bminer · · #4021

once it calculates the hashrate, check the miner stats on the earnings page

n00bminer · · #4022

mine says mode: pay per share. yours should say solo

web3 · · #4023

yeah i’m waiting for it to finish calculating

web3 · · #4024

from the help page: The "c=" parameter must be present to use "m=solo." If c= is not present or if the specified coin does not exist, then this argument will be ignored.

n00bminer · · #4025

you may be better off adding a coin parameter as solo, probably have more luck, but I do not really know

web3 · · #4026

yeah that’s what i’m thinking

n00bminer · · #4027

looks like you need to pick a coin

web3 · · #4028

okay i just set one we shall see

n00bminer · · #4029

which one did you choose?

web3 · · #4030

CryptoClubcoin

web3 · · #4031

honestly not sure which one to choose

n00bminer · · #4032

looking at coinmarketcap, diginote has the 197% increase in price, probably going nuts

web3 · · #4033

is the difficulty listed on prohashing?

web3 · · #4034

oh shit dude i think i just solved 4 blocks!!!

n00bminer · · #4035

Is that solo or PPS?

web3 · · #4038

but now i would need to wait to for them to confirm right?

web3 · · #4039

solo!

n00bminer · · #4040

yes they have to mature

web3 · · #4041

is the value column showing the value per coin?

UPSoft · · #4042

what about payout today?

mickeekung · · #4043

UPSoft wrote: what about payout today?

anyone dive me a hand with x11 static diff? how do i set it?

give*

n00bminer · · #4048

is it not the same with the d=?

n00bminer · · #4049

-p "a=x11 d=512"

GregoryGHarding · · #4050

dosnt work its ignored and stays dynamic

GregoryGHarding · · #4051

@Steve Sokolowski :  super off topic note.. profile pic rules 90x90 and 12KB is impossible

Steve Sokolowski · · #4052

GregoryGHarding wrote: dosnt work its ignored and stays dynamic
x11 difficulties are equal to scrypt difficulties divided by 2^16

Steve Sokolowski · · #4053

an x11 difficulty of 512 is a ridiculous value - try dividing it by 2^16

GregoryGHarding · · #4054

il try tht, i just figured based on documents in help the server would adjust automatically for x11

GregoryGHarding · · #4055

with my math 512 is equal to 0.0078 on X11. whats the lower limit for x11 diff or is that it

GregoryGHarding · · #4056

final verdict, lowest scrypt static diff (d=512) for X11 Lowest statif Diff (d=0.008)

web3 · · #4057

how come even though i’m over the threshold it doesn’t seem like it triggered a pyout

Anyone had any luck CPU mining here? (I know, profitability etc...)

GregoryGHarding · · #4060

you can do it.. its gonna cost you more on electricity then you'll make. but if your going to cpu mine mine on x11 algo

JKDReaper · · #4061

Ya ive found a few ways to make profit (albeit tiny) on other pools, but i cant get any of my cpu mining software to connect here. Get a Stratum Authentication error...using same arguements, un, etc...as on rentals

GregoryGHarding · · #4062

are you quoting your password args?

JKDReaper · · #4063

Ya, ive tried with and without...in all possible combinations i can imagine.

GregoryGHarding · · #4064

post your bat here
