Bug causes inadvertent security notification emails

Hi Everyone, I wanted to explain what is happening with security notification emails. I first want to emphasize that these messages are not a result of a hack or breach of our security. I was performing a routine check of our services today, and I discovered that there was one customer with an inval...

Mining server restarted

Hi everyone,

We just restarted the mining server to apply a fix to improve the accuracy of the hashrate calculations, especially for users using cloud mining services like Nicehash. Steve will have more details in the morning.

Thanks,

-Chris

May 3 balances increased to compensate for downtime

Hi everyone, I apologize for the issue with the mining server over the morning. We have corrected the underlying bug, but the balances of miners were still abnormally low indicating that some shares during that period were not credited properly. I went through our wallets and found that we had an ad...

Re: Equihash now available

About 12% of shares are being rejected for that reason you state. That's way too high, so I'm going to disable Equihash mining for now and Steve will fix it when he wakes up in the morning.

Re: 2018 Taxes on Trades - Boooo

Comparing real estate rentals to mining pools seems to be a "round peg in a square hole" analogy. As I understand the business model of Prohashing, we (i.e. the Miners) are independent contractors who provide services to the mining pool. We select the particular currency for payment and p...

Re: Status as of Tuesday, December 26, 2017

Actually, it wasn't a Verge difficulty drop. Just someone sent a Verge transaction with a $100,000 fee, and we mined it and distributed the earnings to miners. https://prohashing.com/explorer/Verge/0 ... 18dfbba30c

Re: IMPORTANT: Bitcoin payout solution

I have converted BTC to LTC for everyone who was no longer earning BTC (as of December 23), regardless of whether the balance exceeded the payout threshold. The exchange rate used was 0.01904355 BTC/LTC, the price in our database at December 23 00:01:34 (EST). You will see in your account a bitcoin ...

Re: Bitcoin payments policy changes

One possibility that we are investigating is implementing Coinbase bitcoin payouts. You would then be able to enter a Coinbase email address as your bitcoin wallet address. That way, we only need to send all customer funds in one transaction to Coinbase, then we can send the funds from within Coinba...
