USD Equivalent Value

Post by vaultminer » Mon Mar 12, 2018 8:20 pm

How is the daily USD Equivalent value calculated on ProHashing? Does ProHashing use the average of a coin's price over a day, or does it just take a snapshot of the prices at a certain point in the day? Where does the data come from?

I'd like to make sure my bookkeeping is consistent

The dollar value is added up with the value of each share you are credited with during the day. This can and will differ from the value of the coins when payout is performed. For example, if your payout coin goes up significantly during the day the value shown in the earnings will be lower then the value of the coins shown. The opposite is also true.

If you are doing cash based accounting then you may not be able to use the value of their earnings per day, you would likely need to compute the value of the coins when payout occurs. The CSV export for payouts can provide this, or you can use services like bitcoin.tax to compute the value when the transaction was added to the block chain.
