Discussion of development releases of Prohashing / Requests for features
Forum rules
The Development forum is for discussion of development releases of Prohashing and for feedback on the site, requests for features, etc.

While we can't promise we will be able to implement every feature request, we will give them each due consideration and do our best with the resources and staffing we have available.

Good morning!
  • We completed the upgrade to the forums and mail server yesterday. The server was last updated in 2014, and Debian 7 support had ended since them, leaving the server with security vulnerabilities that would become worse as time went on. We upgraded 1000 packages to Debian 9, with the exception of PHP 5.6, which we will never be able to upgrade due to all sorts of incompatibilities. Thanks for your patience, and we shouldn't have to do this again until 2022.
  • The bitcoin client is offline. It turns out that the client needs to do some sort of database upgrade when it is upgraded to the latest version. This upgrade may require several days; it's only through 380,000 blocks now. This is more Core excellence; one would think that upon startup, the client would ask "Are you sure you want to do this?" In the meantime, we'll be mining Bitcoin Cash as the anchor coin for SHA-256.
