Those are settings for BFGMiner. Sorry, I guess if you use that then maybe those settings do apply.
I just have a L3+ and it uses cgminer as far as I know. I would be interesting in seeing the testing data you came across.
I enjoy good reads and thought out tests that gathered useful data. Maybe I'll repeat it and see if it still holds up.
