Good morning!
  • We are pleased to announce that there will be a major release this Sunday to support equihash mining. We will start with switching between zcash, zclassic, and two other coins. We'll add Bitcoin Gold next week, after the bugs from the release are eliminated and after we can get its testnet working. SHA-256 mining will also be released on Sunday but will remain disabled until we get the better connection.
  • The release may or may not come with website changes to correct the terminology used for the algorithms. For example, equihash refers to "sols" instead of "hashes," and for SHA-256, using "MH/s" as a profitability metric yields values with many leading zeroes. These visual issues don't affect mining, so we won't hold up the release because of them. If they aren't ready, we'll release them the following week.
  • Comcast Enterprise is coming for a third "site survey" on Thursday. I still don't think any actual work will be done yet. Every day they delay costs the company $100, so it's pretty astonishing to me that they give up so much revenue due to being so slow.
  • Please vote in the poll. I'm not sure we need to leave it open for the entire week, as the number of vote is statistically significant already. The next poll will ask questions about the winning answers to we can try to focus on the most important issues. I'll also have a discussion about the pool in another post after it closes.

Look at the "Earnings" page, in the right column.

I vote yes to the Poll.

I couldn't down vote any of them. This is my favorite Pool by far. Adding SHA and GPU stuff just makes me happier.

In dream land, I would like to figure-out PoS staking and make an API that is not WAMP

Other than that you guys rock.

We actually had an API that wasn't WAMP, and discontinued it. That was simply so that we wouldn't have to maintain both versions. I agree that in an ideal world with unlimited manpower we would support both.

Unfortunately, proof-of-stake will never be able to be accomplished. Like the "meta-exchange" service, we could turn staking on tomorrow, but both of those services require a money transmission license. Money transmission licenses cost about $3m, which makes the idea unprofitable.

Im a developer of a PoS Coin - coin name is not important to this point. My coin survives by people helping and donating. Feel free to ask for "unlimited manpower" on GitHub... the savants there are more than willing to make cool stuff.

As far as Staking - Im curious if you could Cite the information about needing a Money Transmittal Licence for Staking coins? We have many limitations and need to register with NMLS through our local state - but this is the first I have heard about it being over $4000.

The amounts required vary by state. In some states, like North Carolina, you can get a license for $1000.

However, in Pennsylvania, a $1m bond is necessary just to apply, and that doesn't count the money needed to hire the compliance officer, lawyers, accountants, security specialists, and all the other things the law mandates. Being able to earn more money isn't worth having to move to a state like North Carolina with a lower cost of doing business, so we're just staying out of that.

I am curious: why do you need a money transmission license for PoS? Can you tell me the rationale behind that?
