Steven will update everyone when he finds out if that is the case. Until then, you can continue mining as normal.
So continue to mine "as normal" even though the blocks will continue to be lost post-January 6? There would be absolutely no reason to direct any hash rate to ZCash on Prohashing if you can't tell me if it will be lost or not... I could potentially be sending hash rate to Prohashing for days and have it all be for nothing unless the lost block issue is figured out. As I am sure you are very aware, ASICs are expensive, and ROI is important to all of us. Without some idea of what the ROI might be, I think I have to send the hash rate elsewhere until there is a solid answer on this.

The update fixed the bug, so mining is working as expected now, and Steven is contacting the ZCash developers because it was their bug that cost the lost blocks to see what we can do about getting compensation for you for the lost blocks.

It is quite upsetting, from a electricity cost / time point of view.
With that being said, I know it's not anybody's fault.
These things happen. It's just unfortunately expensive.

I appreciate you looking into it for us.

Just out of interest, what was the bug?
I left because I hate the colour scheme.
Plenty of other mining pools out there that don't look as terrible.

I definitely understand how that would be upsetting, and we appreciate your patience while we’re looking into it. We’re not exactly sure what the bug was, but Steven said it looked like something related to the daemon client. It was repaired with a slightly newer update of the Zcash daemon client.

Is it still saying that for you? I just tried looking, and the second line looks like it no longer says pending. It may have just taken a bit to register?

A bit of a hijack of the thread, but was I the only one that saw Kawpow release this weekend?

We are trying to release KAWPOW today, but don't have a promised release date. Because we are still trying to hire someone to create an automated testing suite, we often have deployment failures that require a revert because there is a different configuration in production that wasn't able to be tested in development. If you'd like to help out with creating these tests, or if you know someone who is interested, please apply at https://prohashing.com/about/careers!

We'll definitely let you know how the release goes and when it's ready for you to join in!

Hi Sarah,

I just woke up from a nap, and refreshed the page.

Looks all good now.

Thanks again for your help. :)

Steve, that sounds like an awesome job.
Unfortunately after checking, I have maybe 1 tick in the box, and loads of empty check boxes.

I KNEW I should have learned Python (It's been on my to-do list for years), after I learned PowerShell I started to be able to read python scripts - but alas, I've never written anything in Python.

I do wish you luck in recruiting for this post, it does sound like a really useful job to fill!

I will post the job application in a few discord servers, as I know a few people who may be able to help.

All the best.
