Negative profitability

Why in the Equihash-144_5 algorithm do some coins (e.g. Snowgem) have negative profitability? But in other multipools they are mined.

We're not sure. Some of these coins have a negative block reward, where the amount earned through the block rewards is less than zero because they require money to be paid to third parties, like developer slush funds.

Each coin usually has a different way of indicating who needs to be paid in these required transactions, and there often is little documentation to determine how to implement the transactions correctly. There is something we don't understand about those coins that is causing the block rewards to be incorrect.
