Getting logged out

Post by Some1notu » Wed Oct 28, 2015 2:36 pm

Could someone please explain why you get logged out from https://prohashing.com/ ? And I mean like why does one EVER get logged out.......EVER!!!!

I mean seriously, explain how that is a convenience for a secure home miner wanting to keep tabs on his mining. Does the site honestly have a recurring problem with rig owners logging in from Star Bucks or the local library?

Also, if you don't mind.....please explain why my username and password can't be remembered by a browser. My miners make roughly 4 dollars a day, so I'm not really concerned if someone has a peek at my account.

This kind of reminds me of a bank I had an account at.............they did not allow passwords longer than 8 alpha numerics, password managers wouldn't work, and you got logged out in 3 minutes. To put it another way, they required a weak password(security risk), required you to constantly login(HUGE security risk), so I took my business elsewhere to use my 64 alpha numeric password remembered by a manager loggers can't get.

The timeout is the default value, whatever it is for Spring. We spent an hour trying to change it in the past, but were unsuccessful, and then had to lower its priority because fixing the lower hashrate issue and the database getting behind is more important at the moment.

But we do know about the problem and it is listed in the system. We do want to fix it, but these other bugs keep appearing, and it just hasn't come up in the priorities list yet :(
