The number of blocks not match

Post by Tomas_Novak » Wed Jun 13, 2018 7:29 am

The number of blocks found on prohashing does not match the number of block found by my miner during the solo extraction. Zessterday, I took about half an hour trought the Equihash protocol. Miner found 5 blocks to your server just 3

I had the same problem earlier today - my SHA-256 miner shows 6 and I can see 4 in the list that could relate to the miner.

I'm not sure if this is similar to the issue that was prevalent before where I had hundreds of found blocks which the miner was mis-reporting. (There was no way it could have found that many blocks in the time period.)

This is a firmware bug in mining software. I still don't know what is causing it, and Bitmain has not responded to any customers' support tickets.

We conducted an investigation into this and there is no evidence that this issue affects profits at all. While it might cause concern if one block were missing, the number of blocks being reported in most cases is ridiculously high. For example, one person reported finding two DASH blocks when he earned only $5 in pool payouts, an event that would be 500:1 odds.

I would just ignore the number of found blocks being reported and hope that the manufacturer comes up with a fix eventually.
