Forfeited balance Problem

Post by grcn1984 » Wed Feb 07, 2018 9:12 am

For the last 7 days I have seen Forfeited balance in my earnings. I work with my own miner device. I demand the solution of the problem and the return of my earnings.

Thank you

Sounds like you may be getting hit with the low-luck miner penalty.
Unreasonably low luck and socialized losses
Some miners have unreasonably low luck. While all miners can have streaks of poor luck in finding blocks, some mining rigs are so unlucky that the number of blocks they submit to the pool are far fewer than what would otherwise be expected. These miners exhibit characteristics that allow Prohashing to identify them as "unreasonably low luck miners."

It isn't clear why some mining rigs exhibit low luck, although it has been suggested in some forums that the low luck results from cloud hashing services that rent out miners from owners who use buggy software. Therefore, the victim of low-luck miners often has no idea that the hashrate he is renting is providing less mining power than what he is paying for. Be careful to only rent miners from reputable cloud mining services and look twice if the price seems too good to be true.

The balances of low-luck miners earned during the previous day are forfeit and credited to the remaining miners as "socialized losses." The odds of a false-positive forfeiture are estimated to be around 1 in 10,000, which means that normal miners would expect to forfeit one day's earnings in 30 years of mining, whereas low-luck miners will often find themselves forfeiting balances on consecutive days. If the low-luck algorithm issues a forfeiture against your account, submit a support ticket and we can assist in tuning your miners so that the problem is resolved quickly.

It has been brought to our attention that it may be possible to modify mining rigs to intentionally exhibit low luck characteristics. Since doing so provides no benefit to the user, it is unclear why someone would take such an action. By connecting your miners to Prohashing, you agree that you will submit all shares and blocks found during normal miner operation to the pool. Intentional failure to submit found shares or blocks constitutes theft of service, and our policy is to take legal action against such miners to recover damages.

I think there was a support ticket submitted about this issue. I'll assign it to Chris for investigation to see what is causing the issue. Without any additional information, we can't make any determination yet as to what could be the cause. In the past, the most common reason for this problem is that the customer had been scammed by an eBay or craigslist seller, who had either installed buggy firmware or who resold a miner that had come from the factory with buggy firmware.
