Some shares not inserted

Post by Steve Sokolowski » Mon Dec 16, 2019 11:53 am

There is a problem right now that is causing some shares not to be inserted, due to an invalid group name from one customer. I've been researching the issue but have not yet been able to determine the cause of the issue.

Until the issue is resolved, earnings will be reduced because some shares are missing. However, no money was lost by this bug, and no customer action is necessary. Once we've identified the cause of the problem, Chris will issue share corrections to increase earnings.

We apologize for the issue!

This issue has now been resolved, and Chris will be applying share corrections later tonight. Thanks for your patience!

Chris was delayed in the share corrections because it was difficult for him to determine what was happening. He found that all miners were not affected equally; only those who were connected to the same mining server as the miner who unknowingly created the problem group were affected. The list of miners who were affected is determined by the last digit of their IP addresses.

About 12.5% of miners were affected, so Chris decided to execute payouts for all miners to get money out as soon as possible rather than hold up most miners' payouts. Some customers will be paid less today, and then will be paid more tomorrow once Chris corrects balances for those affected customers.
