Disconnects from share inserters

Post by Steve Sokolowski » Thu Nov 29, 2018 1:38 pm

When we added the new coins, it looks like a tipping point was reached where the WAMP server is processing too much data every time a price update occurs. There are about 10,000 markets being updated one by one. The WAMP server is now disconnecting every few minutes, which I suspect might have caused errors last night where people stated that their live balances were not increasing.

I'm currently testing an improvement to send price updates one coin at a time, rather than one market at a time, which will significantly reduce the amount of WAMP traffic. I hope to get that released tonight, and then we can see whether there are any further balance issues. We'll stop adding new coins in the meantime until we've gotten the bandwidth under control.

What causes the pricing updates to occur?

Is that a timed event or something else that triggers the query to run out and check prices?

It happens every four minutes.

This release is going to be issued within the hour. It will only take mining offline for about two minutes.

The release failed. There was an exception that didn't show up in development. We're investigating and may try again later.
